ehhh...my wife just doesn't get it....84 shows later, and trying to explain it to a woman that's never even heard them is like trying to explain colors to a blind person...
Having been in this section of the crowd for the first night, I cannot tell you how happy and grateful I am to see it on here. Thanks so much for posting Hampton, it was really special, the guys are back, Page sounds like 1995, and two indoor summer tour shows at venues smaller than Hampton less than 2 hours from my place, what more could a phish fan ask for? Aside from IT, Phish DID NOT play at this level of consistent brilliance in 03-04. See you all this summer.
i was so lucky, i was just getting into phish before their last break...and then i heard they were doing a show in hampton? my friend said he had to go,and so did i..i wish we could got tickets for the whole run..but with hotels. etc it would've been too much money. I was lucky enough to be like 5 rows back from the front, and then for the 2nd set i managed to weasle me and my friend up even closer. That night was the greatest experience of my life
Page was such a leader during the jams for these shows.
Trey plays that beautiful riff at 2:23 - 2:46 better than ever. His Languedoc's got such a screaming but clean tone in Dvd Sky jams, always uses that handwired Tube Driver SO well.
- while reinstating his Ross Compressor into the chain again, many aspects of his "2.0" post-hiatus tone do remain. It's an interesting combination of pre-hiatus Mesa-Boogie/ Fender, post-hiatus 2.0 plus a new 2009 aspect to his tone as well.
Will give the new songs lots of character, be interesting to see & hear how his new tone develops. . .
Totally. And I believe that he is using a TS808HW Ibanez handwired Tube Screamer along with the stock model instead of the old silver mod tube screamer he previously used. It's much warmer and when combined with some of his Boss pedals, gives that spacey feedback and sustain that you hear on alot of jams from 95-97. Mmmm.
Apparently only 500 TS808HW's were made, nobody's selling them now, everybody's outta stock and as of last week, we've got one in my music room :)
4:25 ... gives me the chills every time. love.

Whoever talks during a divided sky needs to be immediately kicked in the throat...nothing pisses me off more than talkers during an epic show
