  • sound quality sucks

  • My mom had this in 8 track tape back in the day.

  • The lead singer looks like Dr Phil back in 1977 before he went bald,Lol

  • The most creative and original music that has ever been written was during the 70's.

There musta been something in the water that decade! Oh wait a minute, it wasn't the water, it was the sm*ke in the air! :) From Funk, to R&B, to Rock, it was ALL GOOD!

  • I guess every generation thinks the music of their childhood was the "best". maybe it's because we remeber being kids and the music takes us back. I can't imagine the radio music of today even comparing to the music of the 70's. I'm late 70's early 80's myself. this music is "pure"...

  • white men rockin' afros and mustaches...you know it's the 70s

  • What a great tune, and an awesome sound.

  • This guy, Pablo, seriously looks like a young Dr. Phil! OMFG XD

  • The guy singing is that Bud Cockrell or David Jenkins?

  • jgeneraledger23, this is the same guy(band) you heard years ago sing LOVE WILL FIND A WAY it's too bad BUD passed away

  • Is this the same cat who sung 'Love Will Find a Way?' he looks like him, but somebody said they were TWO different people. They must be twins!! lol

  • This is about the time I saw these guys at a nice day on the green at Humboldt State University, they were great! They played with Eddie Money, Norton Buffalo and Santana :)

  • that s absolutly right ..No music will replace my music the best music ever,THE MUSIC FROM THE 70' S !!!

  • I remember the Pablo Cruise album (vinyl) spinning around on my record player

  • why does the song have tons of hiss??

  • i can't stop boppin!!!

  • Love to all my 70's brothers and sisters...We are the lucky ones, musically speaking of course.

  • I think it's important for ANY singer to play within himself, otherwise that strianing he does to hit beyond his limit might appear to be whining. The lead singer of this band comes close, but doesn't quite cross that line. A little bit of advice for y'all.

  • bittersweet song because I didn't know a good thing when I had it in my hand, or it was placed into my hands.

  • I had this on 8 track great memories, love it......

  • I used to go out with Bruce Day in the late 70's when he was with his original band. They played at Country Road in San Francisco. I was crazy about him. He was a very nice gentle guy. I heard he passed away in 1999. I think he is playing music in another realm now. When I hear this song I think of him with much love. Love to you Bruce wherever you are. Jean.

  • great

  • GREAT SONG ! I was 14 and I remember 1977 like it was yesterday. (sob...sniffle..) I wish it was 1977 again......lol...

  • @Dwaynne63

me too...i miss the 70's...i was older then 14...BUT i fell ya.

    much luv :)

  • @sweetlove1171 Now I'm gonna sound "old" but the music was better in the 70s. No "hoes" and "bitches" in every other line in every song. Great tunes that many people remember. I could go on forever but...let's just say for me, NO MUSIC will replace the music i grew up with in the 70s.

  • @Dwaynne63 i was born in 1990 and i will agree that music was soooo much better. which is why i spend my time on here watching these videos...catching up on decades of music at its prime

  • @SessionsRecordings In my humble opinion....you just can't go wrong with songs from the 70s. And to me.....for many, many reasons, it was the one of the top two or three most interesting decades of the 20th century.

  • @Dwaynne63 you have written a perfectly typical youtube comment! every song recorded prior to 1991 on youtube has at least 230597239058723 comments like yours about how "the kids these days don't even make music" "things aren't like they used to be" etc etc LOL

  • @buffaloknife and you must not be old enough to appreciate the superior and fun-loving music of the 70s. Too bad because there will never be another decade like the glorious 70s. I mean just read what everyone (including me) is saying about the music and the decade

  • @Dwaynne63 I totally agree with you and it doesn't sound old this is when music is music. The 70's was my favorite year for music, like you said NO HOES AND BITCHES like todays music. I have everyone of Pablo Cruise cd's never get sick of hearing them.Yes you are right no music will replace the music we grew up with in the 70's

  • Oh wow!!!, I have not heard this in years, I love this song how the hec did you find this? Thanks for the post

  • The bass line is Funky!

  • Great song and musicianship.....it seems like I heard that the bass player died trying to run across a freeway?? Anyway, great memories.

  • I saw these guys live...back in the Day. They opened for the Doobie Brothers. They were precise and perfect in performance and sound.

    Fuckin Great Band !

  • these guys were top shit back in the day....pretty good lead solo

  • Don Kirshener's Rock Concert KPLR TV Channel 11 St. Louis Mo. Friday night suhweet!

  • One of the most underrated voices of the 70's.

  • Pablo Cruise lead singer looks like Dr.Phil if he had hair

  • NAME ONE BAND IN THE TOP 50 TODAY THIS GOOD LIVE!!! Not one! and these guys were concerned MOR adult contemporary!!

  • nice!

  • a lot of people are gonna think I'm crazy but back in the day...yes the '70's...I had a '67 mustang (289) and I had 2 cassette tape decks in it cause I didn't want the music to stop or slow down...I was soo into music...only thing about having those 2 decks...I had to have a wingman cause the second deck was in the glove box...lmao

  • Damn, I forgot all about this song.

  • Bieber wipes my ass. Love Pablo Cruise, real instrument playing and singing what a concept.

  • @pcsears no lie.

  • Thanks for posting this! To any and all who say this sucks, my band covered this song from 1980 to 1984- It always warmed people right up, and it never failed to pack a dance floor. Snappy, catchy with a great groove, great changes, beautifully laid out guitar lead, and super- fun vocals (if any band had two singers with the chops to sing it!). Nothing but smiles and dancers everywhere we went. I miss songs like this!

  • Who is the bass player? And did he play with anyone else. He does a good job.

  • Great find here...one of my fav's...thanks for posting.

  • try listening to some steely dan!!! now that's music

  • We all have opinions, like we all have smelly feet. Trying to put it in a nice way. Just blow off the people with bad taste. \

  • This is not the kind of music I listen to-- I like Drum n Bass- but this is a catchy tune, and the playing is fine. The bassline makes it sound a bit like a disco song. I don't see how someone could say this sucks, even if you don't like the style.

  • I laugh like hell when I see some of these comments. Great entertainment and also validates my belief that there are still plenty of assholes left in America. LOL If someone doesnt like the music or the certain style of a band right away they "suck" Regardless of their talent and musical capabilities these shit for brains individuals say they suck. Gotta love it. I kinda enjoy this type of music so I guess Im an asshole right fellas?

  • brings me back to childhood...love this

  • ah very nice back when bands actually had to play thier own instruments write thier songs and sing harmony killer bass line and great groove

  • Do yourself a favor and listen to this with headphones. Love the bass, the beat, the vocals and harmony, and geet-ar! This song will make you happy!

  • all the BS,right or wrong, ain't nobody going to give a shit about it. expression.! but I'll tell you this, our future generations are in dire straight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Much as I liked Bud Cockrell, Bruce Day stepped in very admirably covering his vocals and bass parts almost note for note. This song is a perfect demonstration. Funkalicious boys!!!

  • Great song....I was in my teens when this came out, everyone went to the skating rink every Friday night, and this was one of the many great tunes that they would play while we went round and round....wondering if I would gather up the necessary courage to ask some girl to couple skate. Usually, no courage....just ended up hitting the asteroids game until "all skate" again.

  • Hello Bill, this is Pablo. I'm at the bottom of the pool.

  • Great song. I forgot how good their vocals sounded.

  • @MagicPower118 For whatever reason, they're very protective of putting many songs on here, much of their best stuff from "Lifeline", never appears.

  • Whatcha gonna do when she says goodbye?

Whatcha gonna do when she is gone?!

    :D

  • Great song. They're playing it so fast . Must've been so excitied to be on Midnight Special.

  • When Top-40 was still worth listening to. Back when I was starting Kindergarten, and didn't have to worry about a thing. Great song. great band. Thanx for posting.

  • These guys were in such heavy airplay and tv exposure that they had to be a flash in the pan.

  • miss the big hair and platform shoes of the 70s, nice tunes thanks.

  • To the person that says that this band sucks. The only thing that I can say for you is that you don't know your ass from a hole in the wall!!!

  • sucks.....bullshit..this is when music was music..and yes kids the words are coming from his mouth at the same time he sings them...unlike the concerts you go to today..

  • crap

  • What I don't get is how they're singing harmony live without pitch correction, and it doesn't suck.

    AMAZING vocals.

  • ha!! i had a perm in '79 like Dave Jenkins! just hadn't grown a moustache yet! lol!! ;)

  • Haha I looked this up after watching the Simpsons season 10 episode "Viva Ned Flanders" Marge was looking through a bin of free cassettes and got excited when she found one by this band. Bart called it "crap rock".

  • Looks like Peter Wyngarde. No that is not a compliment.

  • Another killer bass line!!

  • That's not Pablo Cruise, it the cast of ..... Welcome back Cotter

  • bunch of old no pussy gettin losers...gotta get back to my girlfriend...find it in a dictionary.

  • @BrutusMcCrunch "bunch of old no pussy gettin losers...gotta get back to my girlfriend...find it in a dictionary"

More inane youtube drivel. It's this type of puerility and benightedness (find it in a dictionary lol) that holds this community in such low regard. You want to go at it bitch?!? Let's hook up somewhere so I can kick your illiterate drugged-out ass right in front of your "imaginary" girlfriend. I see intellectually challenged morons like you every fucking night at bars and clubs.

  • @TheTranslator100

    hahahahaha! loser

  • @BrutusMcCrunch

Enjoy the anonymity of the internet, troll

  • god i love this song....thank you so much for posting.

  • Now that's what I'm talkin about.....musicians that actually play their instruments. It's a beautiful sound!! I freakin LOVE this song!!

  • Comment removed

  • @JoviMoon it's all in the goddamn mustache.

  • @JoviMoon I bet you dont know shit about music. If you had any music taste youd be listening to justin biebs, not this old people butt fuck

  • @SMDforTacos Grow Up, and go clean ur freakin runny nose! Seriously no disrespect to Bieber, but todays music is not the same. I'm sure ur future children will feel the same way about the crap ur listening to today....so put that in ur pipe and smoke it!

  • Lame is the only word that comes to my mind. I think this song is homoish.

  • @TheTranslator100

There's several old folks homes in your area with vacancies....why don't you grab your walker and move in...then STFU...your time is long over, pops.

  • @BrutusMcCrunch

Your inability to discern musical quality is the lingua franca of youtube, so don't try that older age = appreciation of quality music spiel here.

FYI, I'm in my 30's, and able to appreciate the quality of older music, since older music is generally of higher quality anyway. Mariah and Christina Aquilera are probably the only contemporary artists left who have real vocal talent.

BTW, don't think for a second I believe you're a Black dude, you fucking Internet scammer LMAO~

  • @TheTranslator100

Your stupidity is stunnning and ,apparently, racist as well.

Listen you piece of shit. Fuck you, fuck that whore Britney spears...and worst wishes to your entire family. How bout that bitch...if you wanna make something of it PM me and lets do this...I'd love to end your shit.

    I never hide.

  • @BrutusMcCrunch

I was referring to MARIAH CAREY and CHRISTINA AGUILERA, 2 of the best female vocalists in Pop history, not a HAWT looking no-talent like Britney Spears.

You dont sound like nothing but a GHETTO-ASS buffoon. On second thought; GHETTO types don't have the intellect to post on Internet forums, nor do they listen to Christopher Cross. I think you're either a Internet scammer trying to stir up shit, or a CHATTERBOT = artificial intelligence, and a weak one at that.

  • @TheTranslator100

I listen to Christopher Cross and so did my dad....you're a scared fag redneck(thats what I'm getting from your reply).I'll smash your face into a thousand pieces whenever you;re ready to leave the safety of your laptop, bitch.Until then,I hope your whole family dies prematurely.

  • @BrutusMcCrunch

I find it very very suspicious that you comment on very aspect of my posts, except the CHATTERBOT references?!?

Fuck this fictitious Internet CHATBOT crap. It's in every single Internet forum. The last time I asked a guy from a forum to meet me at a location to "settle our differences," it was a no-show. Matter of fact, I later found out that it was the site owner - an acquaintance of mine whom I've spoken with on many occasions. Of course, he'll never admit it lol

  • @BrutusMcCrunch "'ll smash your face into a thousand pieces whenever you;re ready to leave the safety of your laptop, bitch"

Dude, just in case you are a real person; you don't sound like you know how to fight, based on your post. I get the impression that you're the type of guy who punches like a girl (or BITCH in your terms lol) and leaves himself open to left hooks and uppercuts - not just jabs. Bring your silly ass in town and get a hold of me - I need a little fun in my life (BIG smiles)

  • @BrutusMcCrunch

What's the matter bitch - cat got your tongue?!? You're a fake. I'd love to get your sorry ass in the ring. I'm getting so aroused at the thought of mouses above and under both eyes, and blood dripping from the eye-lids and mouth...yeah baby!!!

  • @BrutusMcCrunch Laptop tough guy!

  • Comment removed

  • @BrutusMcCrunch

Yeah, I''m in California. If you happen to be in town, PM me and we can do this legally in a gym where there's a ring - no cops, weapons, or anything like that. First of all - what are your stats?!? If you're well over 6ft and over 200 lbs, I might have to back down, as I'm only a middle-weight, and on the assumption that you may have commendable punching skills to match those stats. Like they say; never underestimate an opponent. Yeah bro, let me know...

  • Damn, Bud looks like a kid here. When a friend told me Bud Cockrell from Pablo Cruise was doing local solo gigs in town, I didn't recognize him until I spoke to him. Had he not lived the life of a Rock star (booze, drugs and more drugs) right before my eyes, he may be alive today...one of the nicest guys I've met. A true class act - never came off as pretentious in any way or form, but talked a lot of shit about Dave Jenkins - damn near hated him lol

  • superb , why is it no one knows about these guys. Underrated, underplayed and unused by a long way. Get in !

  • it was a great song and a great band.

  • my all time fav band.

  • That's bass playing.

  • @JaquelinLakeman72 or just use a free you-tube downloader to do the same thing

  • Saw Pablo cruz, bachman turner overdrive and cheap trick at the capital center, in largo md. in 1977. A SUPER concert..made even better cuz i was there with my soul mate...GLORIA....I'll never forget her. ..33 years later, i still miss her!!! :-(

  • Billboard's #16 song of '77. 26 weeks on the Hot 100. PC hit #6 in Billboard. God bless!

  • I use to listen to this on my brother's stereo in the basement of our house. Just a good memory of being young. Thanks!!!!

  • terrifying musicianship

  • 3 People got dumped!!!

  • to BrutusMcCrunch: you state that Pablo Cruise "sucks" and you come across like a music know-it-all. ... Let's see how much you really know: state why you think they suck in real musical terms: composition, arrangement, chord changes, melody, harmony, pitch, meter, solos/chops, stage presence, relevance to the era, etc.

  • @gottahave5150 This isn't really my kind of music on the whole, and I hate their whole aesthetic, but they are fantastic musicians, loads of chops and a killer groove.

  • @gottahave5150 no reply from Mcknowitall... let's face it, late 70's early 80's music was a VERY diverse time - everything from disco to black-t-shirt-rock to country cross-over - you name it... sure, you don't have to like it all, but they made more money on this record than McCrotchkrickets will in his whole life...

    Rock On!!

  • @gottahave5150 There was actually a person who thinks this "sucks"?!?! I don't want to say that they may be mentally challenged but, I mean....

  • @gottahave5150 arrangement

  • @gottahave5150 Because it's basic Middle Of the Road crap!

  • @chariotdrvr14: you don't get it. This song was middle of the road in the 70s and still is, but music appreciation IMHO is about variety. ... I love pizza, but I don't eat it at every meal. ... Music appreciation is also about recognizing talent in genre that you don't necessarily listen to (the point of Zyklopz9). I don't listen to Eminem, but I know he's got talent. Ditto for Luciano Pavarotti or Josh Groban — you'd have to be a fool (or very inexperienced) to not recognize their ability.

  • hell to the yeah....woohoo

  • I believe that it is Bruce Day in this 1977 video, but it's difficult to say for sure. ... We were friends in the early 1990s when was a member of the Luther Tucker Band and shortly before Tuck died in 1993. Both of them were great players and kindhearted individuals. ... Bruce died in 1999 about a year or so after being struck by a vehicle while walking across Hwy 116 in Sebastopol to/from a place called Star Video. I believe it was a hemorrhage caused by a detached esophagus.

  • Thanks for uploading! This brings back great memories of my childhood in the 70s.

  • Just saw these fine men Fri night at the Fair, they still look & sound cool. Thanks for posting!! Great memories, since I saw them & the Little River Band in 1978 at age 16!!

  • 1978 The Met in Bloomington, MN on a beautiful Summer afternoon and evening with my bros having the absolutely most wonderful time n all-time top 75...

  • The height of the disco era although I was a rocker this was considered rock but was played on the disco radio stations. I was 14 and it was so much a better time and happier time.

The music was positive and upbeat and the musicians had talent.

  • that's right whatcha gonna do, great song brings back loys of memories, hight school, first crush, first love, well you know what I mean.

  • 1977 ....loved those 70's chicks! whatcha gonna do when she's gone?

  • Love PC they take me back to high school in a easier time of life.

  • I can't believe Pablo Cruise are going to be doing a live album, i'm sooo looking forward to that and so will Will Ferrell (he's a huge fan of theirs) :)

  • Yep 2nd grade for me. Ford Pintos were all the rage for the girls and the Japanese motorcycles were the desire of all boys like me. Boy were those fun years.

  • @brutus

They had more than One black fan! I'm a mulatto. love em

  • BUT......There back!!!!!

  • Wooden Nickle, Santa Clara CA, 1976, dance all night

  • @mmdurango The place was packed. I lived 3 blocks from there on Hilmar st.

  • Bands with 2 lead singers seldom last for the long haul. Pablo was an awesome group over about a 3 year span then they just fell apart. It's a dadgum shame that they could'nt swallow egos and keep rockin'. They were awesome!! A Place in the Sun and Worlds Away were terrific albums.

  • For some reason my mom really liked Pablo Cruise.....I remember she had all their LP's. So they had at least one Black fan in the 70's.

They suck, regardless of color. Terrible 70's music.

  • @BrutusMcCrunch "They suck,regardless of color."

So do you and your Hip-Hop/Rap crap - no wat im sayin, dog? lmao

  • Awesome song, thank you for posting it:)

  • One of the songs I could not get out of my head. This song was number 1 on the charts when my best gf left me. I saw her once and told her about this song and how it reminded me of her. What a great song.

  • Awesome song! These guys are great in concert. They will be appearing live @ the Clover Island Inn, Kennewick, Wa. on July 31st. Saw them there two years ago and it was an excellent concert. They still have it!

  • another forgotten song.rollerskating songs from the 70's or just to listen on the radio

    now i feel really old.

  • What a cool song! The guitar solo is exceptional.

  • The only real KC and Sunshine Band competitor...........my first concert.

  • I'm looking for the Publo Cruise song "Running".....

  • I wish I knew where I could find that song as well. The keyboard has to be one of the best in rock history!!

  • i was in 6th grade when this song was out. i never knew who made this song until today..... why can't life be simple like it was in the 70s and 80's???? but then again, i'm not delusional, i know that it was an "illusion" of innocence, but what a wonderful illusion it was!!!!

  • ive got this on lp vinyl record

  • @viciousalienklown and to be honest i think there are really only a couple genres of music that can do good live: mainstream christian contemporary music, and some but not all country music. Thats why I just usually stick with Liquid drum and bass or House music so you dont have to hear lyrics, just sweet melodies that dont get old near as fast. But even at that, there is very limited material I would consider actually "selectable" to hear.

  • @viciousalienklown AGREED, and Im not even that old, 28, but definetly think most music is terrible these days, there is no reason for musicians to try hard because the studio tools can automatically cover up all the mistakes. To be a good band back then you really had to "want" it more than these punk ass kids today

  • did everybody have a "FROW" then? i know i had my JEW frow...now i'm half bald....i wonder if they are?

  • @dragontigerbull ..no most people did not have a fro,,that was a throwback to the late 60's...most guys had the farrah fawcet hairdo(like me...lol)

  • @HackerGuitarist "most guys had the farrah fawcet hairdo"

A Fro - Farrah Fawcett hairdo - whatever; anything looks better than the GHETTO-ASS shaven-head fad dudes sport today (thumbs down)...

  • @dragontigerbull You called it a Jew Fro? We called it an Is-ro!

  • thanks for posting.

  • These guys sound great live, funny but today's groups sound terrible on stage....not that their music was any good to begin with.

  • Anyone remember the soundtrack this was on in the 70's

  • I'll bet those curly locks and flavor-savor 'stache got David Jenkins more poon between '76 and '78 then I've gotten all my life.

  • what am i gonna do???

    I'm gonna find another one.

  • I once met Cory Lerios, the keyboard player, at bar in San Francisco. Hung out with him a few times. He was very cool person.

  • A very under rated group, one of the grooviest bass lines I have heard. I was only about 8 or 9 when this song came out. It's amazing how a song can evoke memories.

  • Hit #6 pop, #46 soul in Billboard. God bless!

  • I read yesterday that Bud Cockrell indeed passed away. I think it happened just last week. This makes me very sad as Bud and I actually dated for a brief while in the mid-80s. He was an amazing talent and did half of the lead singing on the original recording of this song, as well as writing and singing lead on Place in the Sun. He will be greatly missed.

  • Th bass player is flat out sick with a pick. Probably one of the best funk pick players I have heard. I'm a bass player and it is really hard to sound that soulful with a pick. It doesn't hurt to have your drummer on point like a mofo either.

  • @junkthump ... Totally agree with you dude, Bruce Day is a bass playin badass!

I play bass as well (and guitar) and I find that its easier to play those funky riffs with a pick, plus you get a lot more attack than playing with your fingers... And yes, this drummer is REAL tight in the pocket with the bass, so the song has a nice popping feel to it!

  • Comment removed

  • Great song! PC is an amazing band. I'll be seeing them live this summer. Can anyone confirm that Bud Cockrell, (original co-lead vocalist) has passed away? He was one the best.

  • @Pacisdiligo ... Not sure about Cockrell. The bassist in this vid is Bruce Day (I'm 99% sure) and he was with them during their biggest hits. Pretty sure Day passed away, but I cant find any info about that either...

  • I read a few days ago that Bud had died on March 6th. Bruce was a good replacement for Bud. A talented guy.

  • go to guitar tab universe . com for the chord changes

  • the sound is lousy

  • I can't figure out these guitar chord changes... any suggestions?
