is it just me or is the sportster bikes look real compact and smallish compared to other cruisers regardless manufacturers? and if it does look compact, why did hd do this decades ago when sportster started out?

the low especially is a small bike. the laden seat height is just over 25 inches from the pavement. Ive always enjoyed the minimalist look of the sportster.

Me, too! I went to The HD dealer the other day to look at bigger bikes that I'm supposed to move "up" to or something (if "up" means less power, worse handling, and greater expense) and I didn't see ANY that were as immediately attractive as the Sporty. Maybe the Rocker. The Sporty looks so pure, like a Norton or Triumph in some respect.

We put the Short Shots on my son's Nightster along with the Fuel Pak, and wrapped the pipes. Wicked sound that brings back memories of my 1961 Panhead!

To al people who rag on Harlies, I've had three Hondas, Two yamahas (still have one) one Norton, one BMW. I have to say that the Harley has been the most reliable one so far. Fuck the reliability, it's the most fun to ride. It's a rider's bike. Nothing compares to it when it comes to pure riding enjoyment.

The bike looks really great. Specially the medium grey engine looks very nice (personally I don´t like this Chrom trimmed engines)I could have the forward controls of the custom model, it would make it even better.

Are there laws in Europe prohibiting the changing of the stock exhaust? Just curious. We're not supposed to do much of that here in the USA, but we do it anyway. The Vance and Hines or something similar with the Vance and Hines Fuel Pak makes the bike sound and run great!

Original mufflers, but Harley have a nack for making standard bikes sound good. Didn't try any Screamin' Eagle stuff on the Nightster.
