In my opinion and based on opening animation, Shin Cutie Honey seemed to have the more interesting story. However, Re:Cutie Honey has the best opening all around, the animation and character designs are more fluid and complimentary and the singer Koda Kumi seems to be more into the song than her predecessor's.

@WatchVenusSpa I agree. Up until this point, they tried to make the models more realistic and the tone more serious. But with off-beat subject matter like this, you have to go the opposite direction. It was brilliant idea to implement what I'll call a "pop-nouveau" style, allowing heavier lines, brighter colors, and more stylized action. True to the source, but not by taking itself too seriously.

This is also probably my favorite iteration of the character Honey. Perhaps it's just the art style, but she really comes across as a "cutie" in this. In New she was over-the-top gorgeous, bordering upon ridiculous, and of course Flash had the same sort've Sailor Moon style that made that franchise. That of course leaves the original, which... for obvious reasons comes across as "look how old this is!" But either way, I like to think this as the best of the series' art styles.

This is a franchise that I don't think I'd buy the DVDs for, if not just out of embarassment, but I'd watch on the internet. By franchise of course, I mean the original 70's cartoon, followed by New, then Flash, and then this. The difference in the art styles is intriguing to me. On one hand the gap between the original series and new is a couple decades, but the changes between New and Re: are incredible considering the time gap. I really like Re's art style, a "cutsey" sorta style fits it well

I Thank subbers for their ability to do subs, but subbers have changed since the 90's. Early subbers just put their credit out of the way or at the end of the video, not within it. And at times some subbers never wanted credit.
