I was in the audience for this Olympic event. At the time I had no idea who Pyrros Dimas was as I was only 16 and had no interest in weightlifting but my dad got tickets so I went along.

I remember the event like it was yesterday. The room was intense and it was drama plus with Dimas missing his first lift and phones going off at crucial moments before lifts were made.

Pyrros made history that Saturday night in September and I am so glad I was there to see it.

@duperman I was wondering that too for a long time, but I guess he wanted to make sure that there was no way for Dimas to overtake him. Dimas could probably do 217.5, but it would (almost) be impossible for him to do 220.
