  • Hey David, I tried to make this and it came out a little doughy on the bottom... Im from america I was wondering what the tempurature needs to be on the oven when I cook it? perhaps I made it wrong. I'd like to try it again.. Thank you!!

  • yummy!

  • canyou do it without Dried Pitted Dates?

  • @daggoe61 You can use any dried fruit you like, but try it with the dates - it's very good ;)

  • Made this and it came out just perfect, as he does it here, you tend to think that the mixture is a bit wet but it dries out nicely in the oven, and iy was very nice with vanilla icecream.

  • Thank you for this recipe. I LOVE it! My children also think it's brilliant. :)

  • I love your show and I spent all last night watching it but every time you say your name your smile looks a bit demonic haha xD

  • i was on a sticky date once :S

  • the technical name of this recipe reminds me of a technical spacecraft part.

  • Have you ever experienced your brown sugar drying out? Whenever I buy it, I use a little amount and the day after, it's a brown block. I barely cracked it with the backside of an axe.

  • @SvarteNordmann I recommend keeping brown sugar in an airtight container, and store it in a cool, dark place (the back of the cupboard)

  • Hmm, your table looks alot like my wooden floor :P

  • This looks very good. I was wondering if anyone in the states has made it with success? I've looked up charts but, knowing what actually works would be better.

Thanks for the recipe. I'm sure to make this come autumn or Thanksgiving.

  • I love your recipes, my inglish is very bad sorry i'm spanish xD

  • is spooning essential?

  • @SATIJAF Absolutely LOL

  • That looks quite simple. What could you add to it? Small amount cream, etc?

  • @TheNakedWombat Sure, serve with cream, custard or a little evaporated milk ;)

  • ooohhhhh yeah... keeper

  • Gotta love a sticky date! :D lol. Mine's better than yours though!!! hahah ;) Looks scrumdiddilyumptious xx

  • honey you forgot just one thing. cold thickened cream poured over the top of the hot pudding, my kind of heaven. - and a size 18 waistline!

  • Lovely!!! Can I buy the mixed spices at Coles? also how much water did you put the dates in?

  • @shaligirly You'll find mixed spice in the baking aisle at Coles (near the vanilla essence etc) - and use enough water to just cover them ;)

  • That looked really good. Almost like a bread pudding in a way.

  • Your intros make me so happy, lol! :D

  • what do you do with all the delicious leftovers?? i wouldn't be able to resist sitting down and eating everything all at once!

  • @roseface Leftovers? Not in my house LOL :P

  • im not a big fan of dates so I wanted to know if this recipe would work if i were to use something else besides dates!?

  • @zestydidra You could just leave the dates out if you like, make it a sticky toffee pudding instead. You could also substitute with sultanas / raisins / dried fruit etc ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Thanks...what about with nuts? like pecans, walnuts, etc?

  • @zestydidra Yes, you could add your favourite chopped nuts too :)

  • @coke0fan They pay for the videos ;)

  • would the recipe differ if I were to use fresh dates?

  • @ybn7831 Fresh dates are hard to come by in Australia, so I've always used dried. I'm not sure how you would use fresh ones in this recipe, Maybe someone here will have a recipe ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow I just made it with fresh dates, pitted them myself, it worked perfectly and it was incredible.

  • IT LOOKS SO DELICIOUS AS ALWAYS THANK YOU!

  • Not very aesthetically pleasing, looks like something I clean up after my dogs got a bad stomach.

  • @Wardimus83 Not everything has to look like 5 star cuisine, sometimes the taste is more important ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow True, true.

  • @Wardimus83

    ewwww the hell it does!!

  • ohhhh... i made something like this in chocolate before.... soooooo good....

  • those few seconds after he says "i'm gonna have a little taste right now" is sooo intense. great recipe :)

  • my mum said that she would make every single recipe on your channell if we had a bigger kitchen :D

  • I am so glad you posted this because my neighbor gave me some dates and I had no clue what to do with them. Thank you.

  • do you have to put fruits in the pudding?

  • @Armandadras1 No, but I think they taste good :)

  • @OnePotChefShow can you do creme brulee or strawberry shortcake??

  • gentlemen,we are confronted with avant garde experimental gastronomy. draw your forks!!!!

  • @wathepoint It took me a while to get my tongue around it too :)

  • You, my good sir, have solved a family mystery. My grandmom (r.i.p.) used to make something similar for christmas, but just adding crushed nuts to the mixture. She never shared her recipe.

Now, to decode her turkey stuffing recipe... been bugging me for 20 years....

  • most satisfactory opc

  • bad idea to watch this video after putting on a stew to simmer for 3 hours as it makes you so hungry

and that looks so so good :)

  • LOVE self saucing puddings!

  • Great recipe love sticky date pudding and coming into winter it is a good excuse to make this (not that I need an excuse). : )

  • I know im a noob but would i keep in fridge after?

  • @LilKobe2501 Yes, keep it in the fridge (covered with plastic wrap) and microwave portions to reheat ;)

  • :o how do you edit your videos

    And please subscribe to me

  • It looks interesting. Why do you pour the sauce over the back of a spoon?

  • @beobscureclearly To let the sauce go over the pudding batter, instead of straight through it ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow clever !!

  • The coincidence today was that I just had some sticky date pudding before I watched this! But the one I ate needed the sauce to be poured over the top. Looks delish :D

  • what is the mixed spice contain??

and what did you do with the brown sugar? i don't get it sorry.

  • Why was there a fron cover of DNA magazine on the fridge in one of your older videos ?

  • @TeoSims Why do you think it was there?

  • @OnePotChefShow *giggles* mmm i dont know. erm i was just asking, no need to get picky :<
