  • this is really good!

  • Lestat <3

    I love him.

  • So whats the name of this song???

  • The composer is Josef Hayden and its a section from his Piano sonata in Eb, composed 1789-1790. Hayden probably inspired Beethoven's to write his moonlight sonata and Hayden mentored Beethoven for a while.

Moonlight sonata and this piece of music inspired me to take up learning the piano and taking lessons now. Looking forward to playing this piece of music.

  • Oh come on, you could´ve read what says in the description, and obviously, there are many comments in here...Its a piano sonata in Eb written by composer Franz Joseph Haydn, it is a wide used composition, for example, on interview with the vampire

  • hahaaha ..wow man

  • honey, it's the Sonata in Eb (: In 3:17. my fav part, reminds me a little bit moonlight sonata from Beethoven.

  • Guys lol it's just a verse from Haydn's Sonata Eb! about 3:30 into the song!

  • I love this song! can you send your version to me please?

  • do you know if there are any tutorials on youtube for this song, i'd love to learn it but i cant read sheet music :/

    thanks anyone :)

  • Woooooooww!!!!

    Its marvelous!!!

Could you give me or send me the piece (your version) ?

    ill love that

    please please

I will love to play your version in piano

    Thank u Very much!!!

  • Magnífico.

  • It's so easy and fun to play... I like how the right hand crosses over the left whilst playing :)

  • Well - you wouldn't like it if you had to play it - pretty impressive it may look but it's extremely awkward to play. I played one of Grieg's nocturnes which I had to do that and it was extremely annoying!

  • lol I agree. It gets tiring. my right arm just blocks my left one. Gah.

  • I second the sheet music request, this really is a beautiful peice, or where can I buy the sheet music from?

You play exceptionally well might I add.

  • The sheet music is Haydn 59. I think its available on ledveds video.

  • HI :) may you send me the sheets by e-mail please I'd like to learn this piece....*.*

anyway you play really good :) ;)

  • I love this song. <3

  • If you think that the whole sonata it's worst than this fragment, well I have to say that you understand more the music with picture 'cause if Lestat have played all of it, again in another edited version, from the beginning and to the end, it would have probably be as good as this little part.

Still, perhaps people will realize one day that our imagination could have already created this kind of scenario in our head just by listening the op.59 sonata of haydn!

  • I appreciate your opinion, but still, I don't agree with it. In the sonata there are moments I like and moments I don't like... Unfortunately there is only the short part I really admire... Even if it's a beautiful sonata (for sure it is) I can like it as a whole or just some moments. Maybe it's that I understand music with picture but there's the question if it's bad? Every way to understand music is good... Nevertheless, thank you for your opinion :)

  • Beautiful...so beautiful...when I listen this song I feel the vampire's breath too...like you

  • Beautiful piece of music indeed!

  • what is the orginally name of this song?

  • This is a piece by Joseph Haydn. The original name of it is:

Piano Sonata in E-flat major, Hob. XVI: 49

This is the second movement of that sonata; this "Lestat part" comes in toward the middle. Can't help but to think of Lestat when playing or hearing this piece ;P

    Clay

  • kinda crappy quality but I love it beautiful you play wonderfully

  • this song gives me goosebumps

  • I go to music school and i play this music. so beutiful ....

  • I love this osng, and you played it so beautifull !

  • very good =)

  • Is it possible to send a link of the complete origional?

  • Can you please send me the notes of this song??? XD

  • Unfortunately, I do not have it any longer, actually I had it once, printed it and then deleted. But I found the notes on google/images, so it still can be there :)

  • Esta muy bueno, pero el sonido no lo es tanto. Pero se nota que con un mejor sonido estaria mucho mejor.

  • You can find a transcription of this on scribd, sheet music. Hayden Number 59 in E flat. It's a portion of the

Adagio, not the whole Adagio. It's very pretty and quite easy to play. Look up Lestat's piano sheet music. You'll find it. I think this place won't let me post a link.

  • i love this so much but ll the sheet music i find doesnt seem to match it. So you should definitely come up with sheet music and post it :]

  • great tune...............full of mood

  • ok kinda related question- in the film there is a scene where lestat and claudia feed of a whole family and claudia is playing a somber piece ona piano any ideas what and by whom?

  • Nope. lol. I like that song too lol. All the music chosen is beautiful isn't it!?

  • The song she played for the family was Haydn's Symphony no.87 in D. This song is usually performed in A, and the piece that was taken from the first movement for the film was heavily modified, but still somewhat recognizable. I found this info on a Movie site so i am not certain if it is true or not nor can i find the song on the internet to confirm it. It has been a while since i have seen the movie so i would need to re watch it to confirm anyway.

  • is not a song, is a piece, a sonata.¡¡¡

  • ITS NOT A FUCKING SONG....

  • ur right, its not......is a song with no lyrics XD

  • songs by definition require lyrics. they are sung, not played.

  • well duh songs are sung, and duh songs require lyrics...i don't see your point.

  • o0moxyxmoron0o (3 months ago): "ur right, its not......is a song with no lyrics"

There is no such thing. That is my point. Maybe with your 90% working-capacity brain you can try to see better.

  • honestly, don't you see the 'XD' at the end of my message. It was meant to be taken as a joke...no need to get so literal...and was that even an insult? I'm not stupid (well at least fully :D) and get this is as classical piece...for me to not know that would be shameful, being a pianist myself.

  • Well the XD wasn't in the post that I immediately replied to so I got confused. I resorted to sarcasm since I couldn't reach into my computer and slap you. No hard feelings.

  • DURRRRRRRR - its a classical piece

  • Haydn's Sonata No. 59 Hob. XVI-49 second movement

  • Please someone answer this one question, does any one know the name to this song and who it was written by?... I'm hoping to find the piano sheet music so I could learn to play trhis wonderfull piece of music. Also I think someone should make a tutorial on how to play this song...

  • I think I read somewhere it's from Haydn "Adagio e cantabile"

  • lol ok thanks.....

  • could you do a lesson please?

  • I'll post a Tutorial Video.

  • thanks....that would be cool

  • Ok, done it. Hope it helps.

  • i know the second time when lestat looked like a monster he played hydan what is the title of the first time he played before claudia slit his throat please somone awnser me

  • i'm not sure, i dont even know what the one he plays when he's dead is called exacly lol.....i've just always liked the movie and wanted to learn it.....

  • someone needs to do a tutorial on how to play this song

  • I like this piano music, I have heard many pieces, this one included that I have liked but I don't know what their names are or who was the artist.

  • i love this music....do you have the sheet music for it???? I would be sooooo grateful lol xxx

  • Unfortunately I have only printed version, but I found the right name of the sonata so that you can find notes in the Internet. It's Piano sonata no. 49 in E flat major, Hob. XVI:49 (1789-90) Adagio e cantabile (what is "hob"???).

The beautiful moment begins after ca. 2 minutes.

    Thanks for comment!

  • Hob stands for Hoboken as in 'Haydn Sonata E flat Major Hoboken XVI-49'

Hoboken-Verzeichnis is the catalogue of over 750 works by Joseph Haydn as compiled by Anthony van Hoboken.=] (Hence the name, hope that helps)

    Beautiful piece of music

  • Yes, that helps :) Thanks :)

  • You're most welcome, glad to have helped.
