Really nice work man, I have recorded a couple mixes using one PT01, battery powered disco mixer and serato, turned out alright. Main idea is the most portable setup possible while still having vinyl control, right?
whatever works, cuz music is music... long as u know that the original DJ or selecta style is on 2 turntables and used vinyl... KNOW history or NO history... always gotta study the roots of what u do... can't jus take what the old skool taught & all of a sudden act like they ain't originate almost all the styles today.
mixing w computers nowadays is 100x easier than when there were no computers. & downloading music is 100x easier than going to the record store or flea market & digging for it.
This has to be one of the strangest combos of equipment + serato I have ever seen...
It looks like you splashed out a whole $100 on the mixer and turntable combo and rigged it up to $600 worth of serato. How long do you reckon the PT-01 turntable needle will last with all those backspins?
The mixer $20,I bought it for portable mixing with Serato. The needle, those carts are availble at local electronic stores, not worried....this set up was just an experiment.
Proving that you can throw down a mix on some really budget equipment. I'm most impressed that the needle didn't skip on the PT-01...
Your next video: a mix with 70's belt drives and pitch control via knob + a radioshack mixer with only volume faders

I've had a lot of people comment on my video about single-turntable mixing. Many laugh it off as nonsense.
Glad to see someone is actually doing.
