I just cried watching this. Really touching to know that in this selfish 'Me first' society there are a group of people willing to sacrifice their time and put in effort to improve the lives of others. I wish to be part of Workers Party to form a First World Parliament.
The Aljunied & Hougang residents heard and understood what they want, and they wisely & courageously voted the Worker's Party. Congratulations to the Landmark's Opposition win, you guys fought a victoriously tough fight.
People of Ajunied has to show PAPthat using GRC as a weapon to win direct 4 to 6 seats is not right. First of all the implementation of GRC did not get people of Singapore agreed to have an election in such a manner. Election should be all single seats contests. People of Ajunied you had represents Singapore to tell the government should respect citizen of Singapore in any policy implement.
Well done WP,i played the Tamil version to some of my old folks and they all say if WP can do this in Tamil,why can't the Government put Tamil signs in Changi Airport T3 ?They are also upset why the CAAS have to consult India and Indian government have said that they are happy with English signs.Why and for what is India involved in our country?Tamil is a official language ,it's only appropriate to have it in all public places just like MRT and even SGH.Govt. Of SG have failed to hear us.

We want to know how much is left in the reserves, if any left. How is the CPF money spent? How is taxpayers' money spent? What are the actual losses (or profits as they claim) Temasek, GIC, GLCs, etc. ? What are the assets of the PAP members?
i see opposition is not there to create trouble but serve its purpose of check and balance. At the moment, when ruling party make a decision, most if not all of its member say 'yes' or with little "criticism". Anyone with senses will know this is not right. This is also similar to running a company as family business where all the members are members of the family. I believe it's not necessary to elaborate further again - this is not right.
As I lie on the hospital bed now, I worry more about tomorrow's elections than anything else. Like all elections, it is for our future, our home and our Singapore. I may or maybe recover in time to perform my duty as a citizen, in case I don't, WP and all oppositions in Singapore, I stand by you in spirit. Long live democracy in Singapore.
i stayed in hougang ever since mr low won the SMC, but moved out due to my parent's divorce in year 2009 with much reluctance. best 18years ever. and hougang i believe, still feel more like home than my home now in TP. my friends in hougang, they get married, move out, but mostly moved back to hougang. because it's really different, we have all our necessary facilities, and we're not overcrowded by malls, and those so-called beneficial facilities. this is what home's like. enough and not over.
I stayed in Hougang for almost 30yrs and I can bear witness to the unselfishness & that burning passion that Mr Low had given to us in Hougang. I had witnessed how Mr Low was ill treated when he took over Hougang from PAP & had to start everything from nothing yet he persists on & made Hougang a place that we are proud to live in. Though I had moved out from Hougang, I will continue to support Mr Low & WP & help spread the good works. Thank you Mr Low & WP, the true Singaporeans. God bless you.

As a child whom grew up in the Worker's Party Hougang SMC, and then in Hougang thats part of PAP, I can tell you that the community is closer in the WP ward and that the WP do just as well in the maintainence of the estate as PAP wards and they do it cheaper as well.

My grandparents stays in hougang and I really see it as a beautiful town. In some cases, it's even better than mine ruled by the incumbent.

During the 14 years I stayed in Hougang there were many many times I was always owing for conservancy charges, quite substantial sums. Yet all the while the Town Council under the MP allowed me to try and pay as much as I could without sending us demand notices, issuing Writs etc. And when I sold our flat, they waived much of the interest charges. I shudder to think if I was in a PAP ward, they would be over me in a flash without any mercy for our plight.

My grandparents stays in hougang and I really see it as a beautiful town. In some cases, it's even better than mine ruled by the incumbent.
I salute the WP for that since most of us understand it is very difficult for any minority opposition parties in any part of the world to get funds.
Kudos to WP for the great effort!

Those who are afraid got into trouble if they feel threat when vote WP.........1 solution..........make police report .....cause, if you stay in Singapore, one should feel safe and not under threat.

During the 14 years I stayed in Hougang there were many many times I was always owing for conservancy charges, quite substantial sums. Yet all the while the Town Council under the MP allowed me to try and pay as much as I could without sending us demand notices, issuing Writs etc. And when I sold our flat, they waived much of the interest charges. I shudder to think if I was in a PAP ward, they would be over me in a flash without any mercy for our plight.

Not all opposition parties are equal... All those kuching kurap opposition parties pale in comparison to WP, whom I feel is the most sensible, understands what Singaporeans are hoping for, and have solid, implementable plans for make it happen. All the best, WP!
