yeah yeah i know. dumb people tend to simplify everything. to them everything seems so obvious. blablabla the dumber a person the more he thinks he knows... well that pretty much sums u up "idonthinkso"
I know you said this awhile ago, But fer some reason I still want to answer-it's because when you think in the brain it some how causes your body to grow more hair, especially your head. Soon he will have white hair if he thinks too much Lol
Smart people's brains are very adaptable, and when you solve problems you get a pleasurable feeling. They're very good at solving problems, so they get addicted to it, usually in one area where they keep getting better and better. Their brain slowly adapts to this pattern, using up the space for meaningless things like grooming.
That's why Einstein had wild hair, and Edison, Newton, Howard Hughes and many other geniuses were known for having poor hygiene.
Their brain is configured so that it pays no attention to cleaning and grooming. They may shave every now and then, but generally they are disorganized, slobby type people. They can't help it.
Strong ability to understand logic (understand non-living objects), weak ability to understand behavior (understand people)is the essence of gifted autism. High logical intelligence is often associated with social ineptness. Social adeptness is often associated with logical ineptness. Those with autism spectrum disorder are unaware of how people react to hygiene and grooming and dress because they are oblivious to facial expressions and body language, so they do poorly in those areas.
Being unaware of how people react to their outfits is one possibility, but it's not as strong a factor as the brain configuring itself to ignore menial cleaning-type tasks.
There's a BBC special called Battle of the Brains, which I believe is on youtube, where they brain-scan a guy with an apparent 162 IQ and are shocked to find that his brain had configured itself exactly this way, devoting almost no space to menial tasks.
Are you saying rick is autistic? because there are plenty of people who have "High logical intelligence" and also have normal socializing abilities, in fact most do.
social and intellectual abilities do not always cancel eachother out (if that's what you're saying) in any way, except in rare autistic cases.
I don't have enough information on Rick to reach a conclusion. I do think that mild ASD is a little common amongst those with high logical intelligence. The truth is not as simple as the logical intelligence/ social intelligence spectrum. There are different types of logical and social intelligence, so most people have strong and weak points in both areas.
Autistic people usually scores below the average on iq tests.
He probably has OCD. (obsessive compulsive disorder) based on the fact that he is forced to do things (like train 6 times a day ) etc
People with extremely high iq`s usually get obsessive about things they find interesting because they usually can consentrate much better than average people. obsessivity = less social life.
However, social intelligence can be learned. Iq cant.
I never said he was autistic. And no, "social intelligence" can't be "learned". Social ability is embedded in the brain just like verbal ability, spatial ability, numerical ability.
I don't think you know what social intelligence is. Social intelligence is the ability to interact with other people... you can't really learn that. Sure, you can learn better grammar and improve your vocabulary, but you can't be taught how to socialize better. It's like what seperates an outgoing person from a shy one.
Well, there are thousands of books and course on learning how to socialize with strangers etc.
For example : PUA training is one of the most popular types of "social training" today.
Its mostly about !interacting! with and picking up women , but most people who trains this gets more outgoing and loose their fear of interacting with strangers.(thats the whole point)
People skills are easily learned if you have the time.
@Idonthinkso7331 His lack of autism just turns him into more of a nerd, and therefore makes him all the more deserving of this pride-obliterating assault.
@Idonthinkso7331 autism in some cases, creates a well above average iq, in mensa the #1 most common thing is autism. most of the people who have it, you wouldnt notice, it just makes them think differently.
He spent days on end focused on his work and neglected sleep. I don't know what the level of his hygiene was but based on those anecdotes, it was probably typically low for people of his brain type.
@EGarrett01 No way... he was practically mysophobic.
"Tesla may have suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder, and had many unusual quirks and phobias. He did things in threes, and was adamant about staying in a hotel room with a number divisible by three. Tesla was physically revolted by jewelry, notably pearl earrings.[99] He was fastidious about cleanliness and hygiene, and was by all accounts mysophobic."
That's actually not incompatible with what I said. Your interpretation of it is way too simple. Look at what I actually described and not just assume that the common result is the only possible one. The brain hyper-adapts to do the things that interest it and erases space for the other things. Tesla worked for days on end and rejected other things, his OCD about hygiene indicates a similar abnormal over-interest in it instead of normal human cleanliness.
@EGarrett01 I think your just trying to defend a point with a lack of streangth.
I dont hold with the whole, i dont do X because i'm saving that space for Y in my brain. You may develop shortcuts. But thats probably due to apportioning more 'run time' to other processes. Like problem solving.
Infact i'm not suggesting that its that way. I'm telling you it is.
This also explains why clever people might develop strange eating habits. Especailly for high sugar treats, and miss propper meals.
No, I'm explaining a point to you that you seem unable to properly interpret. It's very common on youtube and I don't have much patience for explaining things that people should actually be figuring out themselves by re-reading the original comment and paying closer attention.
Re: Your second paragraph, I didn't say it's voluntary. It's not. It's the way the brain adapts itself.
You used the phrase "I'm saving that space for Y in my brain." If you have a reason that you think the theory is wrong, go ahead. But I highly doubt that you actually grasp the point in the first place.
@EGarrett01 Its ok, my firewall allso works on arrogance.
There has never been any scientific proof that there is a limit to how many of something a human can memorise. Sure it may be easier to create a routine, like Einstein did with his clothes, but all this really frees up is time, not space.
Go to the BBC's Battle of the Brains and watch the segment where they do neural-imaging on the guy from the High IQ society. It confirms exactly what I told you.
@EGarrett01 I've allready watched that show, but i watched it again just to make sure you werent right........ You arnt right.
The smaller brain in the stockbroker was mostly comprised of high speed white matter, rather than the heavy thinking grey matter that the physicist had. This isnt the same as saying that the stockbroker was barred from memorising information. Only that it was harder.
Considering einstine was also a physicist that makes it more likly he had the grey matter.
@EGarrett01 In truth, as a debater, it is a personal choice for me to not use short cut thinking, as this is an easy way to incorporate biases into memory so they can trip you up later. Its especially vital when your intelligent and can deal with allot of information.
Debating the way i do is more akin to leangthening and breaking down a subject to increase its resolution, the scientific definition of this is; the ability to tell the difference between two objects. Only then can it be resolved.
Einstein is one of the best examples of what I'm talking about.
I also realize where you're confused now. I'm talking about how the brain functions to accomplish tasks. You're replying talking about how the brain stores memory. These people tend to have incredible memories, but the brain's active space is devoted almost entirely to their interests and assigns automatic or thoughtless processes to the boring things.

What? are you from the 70s?
I dont think you know what social intelligence is.
There are programs that actually help shy people to be able to socialize and alot of people benefit greatly from it.
offcourse you can learn how to socialize better, thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard and you obviously havent read on the subject.
Idonthinkso7331 2 years ago
erm, can you name one of these "programs"?

You can easily learn to read body language (witch is a huge part of interaction).
You can easily learn how create rapport with people. (through correct use of body language (reading, copying), Speak/listen ratio, etc
You can easily learn how to be an interesting person in the eyes of others.
Basicly, you can easily increase your social intelligence if you just have the time.
Its not harder than to read, observe and practice ^^
