  • Effortless! Stevie was a blues phenomenon.

Few players can really make the instrument sing bottom of the heart like he did.

  • So freak'n Cool!

  • 5 people are strictly against tobacco, the performance is undislikable

  • wtf!!!!!!!!! a PIPE!!!!

  • Im 25, and I was born and raised to Stevie ray Vaughn because my parents KICK ASS.

  • I love how he kept playing while he fixed his pipe.

  • How can somebody dislike this?

  • @facubarca

    non smokers?

  • i was actually sitting here believing that he was going to BREATH FIRE at some point during this tune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Red HOT!

  • how can he correct his pipe, while he plays perfect?! i don't understand?!

  • @JohnBabarosa

he's paying homage to Albert King

  • 1:46!

  • 0:57 kicks ass!!!

  • Incredible!!!

  • He should have cut an r&b album with Jaco!

  • SRV COULD DO ANYTHING WITH A GUITAR

  • THIS CAT IS UNREAL....GOD I WISH HE HAD OF LIVED....LISA....

  • OMGOSH THIS MAN IS F***KING UREAL

  • God Bless You Stevie, You passed 20 years ago today...makes me So sad

  • One sick bastard....R.I.P. Stevie

  • Sounds like great plains TEXAS!! HAHAA thxs stevie for all !!

  • Spinach in that pipe

  • Like when he plays with one hand at 0:58 while he casually adjusts his pipe.

  • This guy can solo circles around anyone, and solo his way out of a paper bag at the same time.

  • well SRV is one of the real greatest

and this is the coolest track ive ever heard

  • @nathk123 Genetics? Lol.

  • CACA

  • Put this in your pipe and smoke it. Fuck this is hard. Stevie's the man.

  • Quit playing this song in fast motion. Please play it in regular motion. What!? It's not in fast motion? It IS in regular motion? You've got to be kidding me!

  • I love how you can see him puffing in rhythm. Haha!! =D

  • just like a locomotive... the faster it goes the more it smokes... you might say his playing is fueled by nicotine...

  • Stevie just flowed with it:) it doesnt matter how fast or slow he played.., he just flowed:)

  • SO AWESOME!!! I'm going to learn how to play this.

  • @TheUltimateJappo Good Luck mate. It's a tough one, I still don't have it up to speed :)

  • good luck.

  • i am just so facinated with scuttle buttin. so fast, so clean..., and Stevie knows how to keep good time. when he handed his pipe over, he jumped right back in it like nothin ever happened!:)

  • danm he his flying on this song!

  • Oh, my, he's so brilliant!

  • wow, what a song to start the set, kick, ass

  • The pride and joy of texas and all humanity.

  • How is it Humanly possible for someone to play that fast?!?! no tab will ever make you play this. this is pure feeling!

  • DAMN is he Coked out!!

  • ja ja ja ja de rojo completo y encima fumando en pipa!! vaya tio! muy buenuuuu, cagunmimanto!!

  • @benxajimh Veo que hay aficionados de todos los paises del mundo :-)

  • long live SRV

  • I'm pretty sure opinions matter a whole lot to strangers!

Great song, I personally think Stevie does the nicest sounding scuttle butting :D

    5/5

  • does your brain work?

  • I shed tears, Stevie. Tears from the sheer awesomeness, and tears of regret that I never got the chance to see you live. Legendary indeed.

  • How the fuck does he manage to smoke a pipe and still play every note perfectly?

    He is amazing

  • if you watch him. you can see that he is smoking with the beat. haha

  • @nathk123 Genetics? Lol.

  • @nathk123

    he smokes weed ...

  • @nathk123 because he is GOD

  • @nathk123 'cause he's just that damn good. :-)

  • @nathk123 because he smokes with his mouth and plays with his hands. when he accommodates his pipe he is not using his left hand.

  • @nathk123 because he is Stevie Ray Vaughan.... only he !!!!

  • @nathk123 because he's not human :)

  • @nathk123 Cuz he is stevie ray!

    This man is a god!

  • Something else about Stevie that hasn't been said here - his stamina is rare.

Other guitar pros have commented on how they can rip fiercely for short sections of a tune, but Stevie can make it last for an entire song.

His forearms must have been hard as a rock.

  • This is the coolest opening-song ever! In case someone doubted his skills; this is SRV's way of telling them to STFU! :)

  • @jtryland101 Lol... nope... this is his way of having FUN WITH HIS MUSIC!!!!! It sounded good so he played it! I LOVE listening to a guy that LOVES what he does and isn't just good, but one of the greatest of all time.

  • @jtryland101

    He's smoking weed, what else>?

  • @jtryland101 How could anyone doubt his skills?? I'd go further and say not only was he skilled (this implies some type of learning), but his playing was somehow channeled (implying no lessons required). It's like the first day he picked up a guitar, and WOW!

  • the best guitar player ever

  • Hahaha... JS is shit, Stevie was the best along with Jimi.

  • do you ears work?

  • You are obviously not a musician and as it seems you know nothing about guitar playeing, so for your opinion is invalid and is worth nothing, I feel so sorry for you, you might try to clean your ears a bit and take some lessons mate, although I doubt that it may help you in any way...

  • haha im not a musician but i do play guitar, i can play texas flood pride and joy scuttle buttin, and as for you earlier comment i can play vodo chile, little wing and hey joe also... lol ur funny

  • Nobody gives a damn who you think is the best guitarist. JS sure as hell isn't is, Stevie sure as hell isn't it either. I don't think we'll ever find one. No one cares anyway. I'm probably funny, excuse me for that.

  • js meanin joe satch is it?? n well theres so many dif styles ya cant really have a best guitarist in some ways

  • @wannabefun Every one of them is special in their own right, and they have such a distinct style of playing that comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges.

I'm gonna go practise now. Ciao

  • Lol, you are so funny! If you can play like Stevie Ray Vaughan and his songs, than why don't you upload a video of yourself doing it, ha? I am sure the whole world would like to see a self confident fuck who thinks that he knows how to play guitar and who thinks that he is on the same level with Stevie Ray Vaughan. Bring it on you bastard. BTW. Stevie never played a song the same way twice and he was versatile, I thought you would realise it being such a smarty ass bitch, haha... Grow up!

  • I don't think he played them differently to be versatile. I think he just couldn't remember exactly how they went hahaha, but that doesn't really matter when you got them blues down. Made em sound even better each time.

  • actually, there is a guy who works for Guitar Center that listens to concerts as a whole. And will tab them down to the last little detail. He publishes them in books. Just type in SRV on Guitar Centers site and they will pull up.

  • and BTW alot of of SRVs songs have almost exact same rythem and backing - they are all texas blues style. he has several songs which at parts you literly cant tell apart.

  • badass

  • how does he get that scream at 1:30 - 1:35 ??

  • He is bending the E string very hard using heavy gauge strings and of course his main trick and thing: going from the neck to bridge pickup, and doing it very fast.

  • Pinch harmonics im sure and he bends A LOT!!!!

  • that notes not pinched, bigg bending and lottsa volume

  • main riff is unbelievably fast. man he's good...

  • This is a great proof of the beautiful and expressive American music culture. Nothing else. God loves you stevie I assure you.

  • If you know anything about golf, this guy is like Tiger Woods performing at a major--unbeatable!!!

  • If you get to Austin, TX be sure to find the SRV memorial - it's along a hiking/biking trail. A statue of Stevie, with, part of the memorial, a long shadow on the ground. Indeed, he did cast a long shadow. One of the greatest ever.

  • god, just watch his left hand when he plays the main riff, what a beast

  • You know what I think happened? Old Stevie Ray was smoking his pipe without knowing he was about to get on stage. Then he just left it in his mouth before he smoked all of the tobacco.

  • I wish i could play this song when i smoke my pipe.

  • I wish i could play this song.

  • you probably could the beginning just sounds hard but its really just hammer ons and pull offs

  • Love it !!! SRV Rulez!!!

  • This is stevie's version of a Lonnie Mack song called chicken picken. Lonnie was one of Stevie's idols.

  • Hey you know something about music!!!!! (no sarcasm)

  • Well, maybe a little about music--but more about Lonnie Mack!! ha!

  • who plays faster, cleaner, and heavier....the answer is noone

  • where's the fucking end?!

  • dont forget randy. rhoades may have not quite achieved what jimi and stevie did, but his contribution to 80's metal guitar is unparalleled.

  • such talent to die and jimi hendrix and all best guitarist end quickly. thats not right

  • anyone who says stevie is a douche is a SCUMBAG.

STEVIE IS THE GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER WHO EVER LIVED!!!!!

  • fuck yeah!!!

  • Smoking was the norm back in the good ol' days.

  • Yeah we had it all back then

  • could he make that look any easier?! that is talent my friends

  • You should see what he did in the STUDIO, he would swallow whiskey with cocaine. The cocaine crystallized in his stomach and almost tore his stomach lining open.

  • He is smokin all right! Stop looking at the pipe - watch his freaking fingers if you want to see SMOKE!

  • ummm, eddie van halen does it, slash does it, almost every guitarist that smokes, smokes on stage

  • but never with that unique style

  • ya, thats true, u reely dont see people smokin pipes, only cigs

  • yeah santinou (Y)

  • SRV..the pipe is just like Albert King..onne of SRV's idols!

  • how do u know its tabacco

  • he didnt say tobacco was in it, the pipe is a tobacco pipe rather than a bowl or something.

  • Guibu2 - "That just looks difficult, but try it out, its quite easy "

Guibu2...would you care to show us a video of you playing this song and making it look "quite easy"?

    I didn't think so.

  • wat a douche

  • what a badass!!! playing with a fuckin tobacco pipe!? is there anyone more awesome?

  • Albert King? oops....

Charley Patton is my new favorite. I can't understand a DAMN thing he is singing about...

  • lmao, he looks so badass with his pipe, he even moves it to one side of his mouth to the other without out stopping playing....

  • total rebel!

  • That just looks difficult, but try it out, its quite easy

  • hes pimping that fuckin guitar r.i.p S.R.V

  • Nothing smoother than a pipe smokin guitar pimp shredding on perhaps the baddest guitar focused instrumetal.. only thing missing is a nearby shot glass of Makers Mark to complete the scene.......!

  • his hand on the fretboard during the lick is lightning fast

  • damnnnnn

  • A true guitar GOD

  • what does de name of the song means?

  • that lick is fucking sick!!

  • Amen [2]

  • Stevie looks like a pimp

  • i'd say the pimps look like stevie :P

  • Holy shit!

  • The base and drums are nothing to sneeze at either. There all good.

  • now he is a mix of jimi hendrix and sherlock holmesxD

  • Great version of this tune.

    SRV gone but not forgotten....

  • holy shit, i wish he could rise from the dead and put all those jackasses like My Chemical Romance and the Jonas Brothers in their place

  • =D

    You're so right...

  • amen

  • rape

  • exactly

  • That's so tight he has a pipe in his mouth!

  • and he switches sides with one hand on the guitar still playing, other on the piiiiipe ;-)

  • are u thinking what im thinking?? that must be albert king´s pipe , he probably gave it to stevie as a gift

  • watching this all you can thing is goddamn... there is no one else who made something so difficult look like the guitar isn't even there.

  • also notice how fast he can up pick only...that is really a huge part of his sound...iv never seen anything like it...not to mention he plays 13 still at this point

  • sorry no one can play that fast and that heavy and that clean at the same time. there will never be another is true

  • Actually there are a number of people that can play faster, cleaner and heavier, but SRV remains a god for his skill and musical genius.

  • you always knew stevie ray vaughan was sick when you listened to him.. but until you actually SEE him play you still have no idea. it's so incredibly effortless for him. and he's always including tricks and theatrics, to try to make it somewhat challenging to him i guess. he's bored with just the old sick world class guitar playing, he's got to throw tricks in there to have some fun. i have the dvd from the el macambo and it's incredible!!!

  • oh ive got till 1:10 down lolz so hard

  • That's a great bass player on the stage with Stevie.

  • How does he do it???

  • Coolest pipe smoker in the world!

  • well, there's always stephen fry as well lol

    but its very close ;)

  • omfg it was a fucking joke whoever the prick was that thumbs downed me

    ROFLMAO

  • lgjoebonamassas#1CTfan -SRV rips but Joe Bonamassa could play any of SRV's stuff when he was 8 yrs. old. You should hear him now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Joe Bonamassa is just an amateur and a nobody compared to SRV. He has nothing on SRV. Yeah he maybe is good, but he ain't no SRV and there will never be another one. Joe is ok and decent, where SRV was a god, a virtuoso and a master among masters.

  • Personally they are both gods. SRV was just a lot more influencal and trend setting. Who is a better player in terms of ability to play...thats a tough one, Smokin Joe can really rip, and is more well rounded.

However, SRV is the man, like Hendrix is the man, and at the end of the day you can argue that.

  • Joe a god?

Nope. Not even close. He is a very good guitar player and has a great sound, but he ain't got 1/10 of talent that Stevie had. Joe is tehnically great and fast, but he ain't that well rounded as Stevie, he ain't that passionate as Stevie and he certainly isn't that influential and versatile as Stevie.

He is just an amateur compared to Stevie and many other legends.

  • Smokin' Joe is simply a Stevie Ray rip-off anyway with hardly any licks of his own. Sure, he does them well, but nothing of his own really. If you want to check out a rough contemporary of Stevie's from Texas, check out Ronnie Earl. He's a damn good player. There's definately some Stevie in him, but also more of his own style mixed in.

  • Just to inform you all--this video is not being played in fast forward mode. That's how fast Stevie's fingers were in real time! Do not try to adjust your picture.

  • Why wait? lol

  • One of them improve guitarists of the history of the rock

  • he was the best guy i ever heard great way to play it and great synchronization, i try to play it so good.

  • put that in your pipe and smoke it

  • fucking awesome lol looks like a ye olde grandmaster/professor... of guitar!

  • The old grandmaster, whose hands fly so fast you can't hardly tell what he's playing xD

  • You gotta be kidin me !! Hes holding the pipe in one hand and playing/shreddin two notes with the other (56-58) ??? good flippin lord. Why do I even bother playing??

    LOL

  • I can smoke a pipe as well as he can, maybe even better!

  • i love how he's just smoking his pipe while his fingers are doing all this intense stuff, lol

  • lol

  • The Pipe kicks ass

  • They had to retire this song after stevie died. NO ONE ELSE COULD PLAY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fastest fingers in the world

  • the coolest pipe's smoker in the world

  • Stevie rocks!! scuttle buttin' rocks! and the pipe :D

  • he's good!!!is he using a kid's version of a fender Strat???

  • No, he's playin' a trumpet.

  • what's with the sarcasm???

  • you added an extra O, he's not just "good", he's GOD
