As much as I love Mustangs ( my PERSONAL favorite, by the way) I have to admit the original show was better. Case in point, I showed my kids (who had never seen EITHER version) the old and new versions.
The girls were more of a badass than he was. This show really sucked. Should've been a Chevy Camara 2010 or a Camara with the Pontiac Firebird mod. kitt added on.

I still can't understand why people are upset that a Shelby GT500 KR be used as KITT. I saw that when the idea to make a Knight Rider movie the studios sent a call to the major car manufacturers and Ford answered the call. So basically like the original show, among other tv shows the car was picked for product placement reasons nothing else. Don't believe it check The A-Team(GMC), Viper(Chrysler/Dodge) among other shows and movies.

I've actually really enjoyed watching it. I was a fan of the original and agree with what he said about this being a progression. Why would they use the old car when they can use a new model? and why shouldn't it turn into a pick up? It's progress. If the tech had been around in '83 then I'm sure they would have done the same thing then.

When I first heard this was returning I was really interested, but then seeing the car, and the fact theres no, "Micheal Knight" just put me off. I think they should have really kept Kitt a pontiac, but just a more modern one. Theres nothing in this that makes me feel its still "Knight Rider." Hoff needed to be in this as the new boss of the team, to give it some weight.

I personally think they did a good job with the new one, being a fan of the old series the new one just brings the joys of Knight rider to the younger generation! like am 22 and remember wathcing the old one with my dad, so i think its a good idea for people younger than me to embrace the new one!
I get where you're coming from and I get your point, but still the passion and excitement that the original series had just can't never be duplicated, in the original KITT actually had geniuine emotions and character depth and you just could feel the dangers he faced with him, the new one is just a bunch of action scenes with no story whatshowever
plus they had to mix Transformers with Knight Rider just to get the younger kids attention
I don't think a Mustang was the best choice but the new KITT attempts at humen emotions was amusing. And I was rooting for that Tech guy to finally win Zoey over about 2 seasons down the line.

I think it would of been better if they would of used the old KITT; that is still by far the best KITT; I don't like the Mustang version it just does not seem like KITT; and Val Kilmer as the voice; I think they could of gotten somebody better to do the voice.
The original series will always be the best. The new series....I lost interest after the first couple eps. Honestly, the only reason I watched was The Mustang. SUCH a BEA-U-TI-FUL car!! Makes my yin-yang chew a hole in the seat!

I have watched something from this new series.......but i didn't like it as much as I like the original knight rider. It seems to me that KITT's soul has been lost......just listen to the new KITT. I'm not from the 80s, I'm born in 1992, but Dukes of Hazard / A-team and KR are my favorite shows! I like KR the best off all and watch the old series every time i can as its still on our tv. I think the old KR is more fun to watch, but the new KR is just awesome! I watch it every time it gets aired, even didn't go to work once just to see it.
Kitt was the star of the old show, and David was his sidekick, and the star has returned to us now! so watch it or zap to another show. thats my opinion.
everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I for one, am not born in the 80s/70s etc and to me this show is awesome. This bias should just stop and people shouldn't be trying to force their views on others. Hey, if the original KR had a great run, "yay". But it just seems too selfish that people are bashing a spin-off show because they're missing their original. Also, the fact that Ford sponsored it isnt an excuse for using 'car brand' bias in reviews. There's other shows out there to watch.
Now, i dont know the ages of everyone who watches this but think about it. For one, innocence is not lost to a child when they make a new series of Pokemon or Power Rangers. They see it as entertainment and not something to fret and argue over. If they hate it, they move on. How mature does that make those who wail over a show that is 'supposedly' futuristic and just trying to fit the part? If its not entertaining to someone, they should just watch something else that they would fancy.

I'm a huge fan of the Original, But I like this show also. Maybe they could tone down the 'Transformers' routine a bit, Kitt's cool enough without all of that. I hope they can hang on for a few seasons.
If you want a TV-Hit, then bring back the original Knight Rider with David Hasselhoff (new episodes in the old, classic style)... As a fan of the old show, I was a bit iffy about this new series, and the two hour pilot didn't impress me. Yet despite all of that, the first episode turned out to be a lot better than I expected. The car doing the transformer thing is a bit much, but overall, if they can keep the pace and intensity of the first episode, I'll definitely watch. BTW, this new series is more of a babefest in regards to main characters. The girl who plays Sarah is suweet, and the other two female leads are hot too.

I still can't understand why people are upset that a Shelby GT500 KR be used as KITT. I saw that when the idea to make a Knight Rider movie the studios sent a call to the major car manufacturers and Ford answered the call. So basically like the original show, among other tv shows the car was picked for product placement reasons nothing else. Don't believe it check The A-Team(GMC), Viper(Chrysler/Dodge) among other shows and movies.

I've actually really enjoyed watching it. I was a fan of the original and agree with what he said about this being a progression. Why would they use the old car when they can use a new model? and why shouldn't it turn into a pick up? It's progress. If the tech had been around in '83 then I'm sure they would have done the same thing then.

When I first heard this was returning I was really interested, but then seeing the car, and the fact theres no, "Micheal Knight" just put me off. I think they should have really kept Kitt a pontiac, but just a more modern one. Theres nothing in this that makes me feel its still "Knight Rider." Hoff needed to be in this as the new boss of the team, to give it some weight.

I get where you're coming from and I get your point, but still the passion and excitement that the original series had just can't never be duplicated, in the original KITT actually had geniuine emotions and character depth and you just could feel the dangers he faced with him, the new one is just a bunch of action scenes with no story whatshowever

Oh,and that transforming thing,attack mode looks like it is heavily inspired by that transformers movie. My point is that this new knight rider is a bad remake of an 80's classic.

I'm not from the 80s, I'm born in 1992, but Dukes of Hazard / A-team and KR are my favorite shows! I like KR the best off all and watch the old series every time i can as its still on our tv. I think the old KR is more fun to watch, but the new KR is just awesome! I watch it every time it gets aired, even didn't go to work once just to see it.
Kitt was the star of the old show, and David was his sidekick, and the star has returned to us now! so watch it or zap to another show. thats my opinion.

everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I for one, am not born in the 80s/70s etc and to me this show is awesome. This bias should just stop and people shouldn't be trying to force their views on others. Hey, if the original KR had a great run, "yay". But it just seems too selfish that people are bashing a spin-off show because they're missing their original. Also, the fact that Ford sponsored it isnt an excuse for using 'car brand' bias in reviews. There's other shows out there to watch.

Now, i dont know the ages of everyone who watches this but think about it. For one, innocence is not lost to a child when they make a new series of Pokemon or Power Rangers. They see it as entertainment and not something to fret and argue over. If they hate it, they move on. How mature does that make those who wail over a show that is 'supposedly' futuristic and just trying to fit the part? If its not entertaining to someone, they should just watch something else that they would fancy.

If the Fans of the orginal series like the orginal series over the new show that is our right. "mkcraiig" It is not written we have to like the new show...and if some of us don't like it and it bugs you to bad. I've watched the new show I don't like it. To me the orginal series was better ( I grew up watching it) and nothing is going to change that.

omg u guys need to stop dwelling in the past and move on, this series is alot better than the old one, yes that series was good in the 80s - 90s but as time has gone on so has the need for better graphics and overall quality of a tv series, the old tv series offered terrible fighting scenes and ok graphics for its time, but the new tv series is a massive update so shut the fuck up and stop compairing it because it fails.

I guess the series is ruined then. I suppose they could redo all the scenes with KITT in with a different car. Of course it would be identicle in every other aspect apart from what he looks like. The first thing you learn at school is it's what's on the inside that counts.

I'm a huge fan of the Original, But I like this show also. Maybe they could tone down the 'Transformers' routine a bit, Kitt's cool enough without all of that. I hope they can hang on for a few seasons.

If you want a TV-Hit, then bring back the original Knight Rider with David Hasselhoff (new episodes in the old, classic style)... Nobody wants to see such crap, because Knight Rider IS David Hasselhoff! The classic series was a hit and always will be because of him and K.I.T.T. - wo wants to see some show without the main parts?!

As a fan of the old show, I was a bit iffy about this new series, and the two hour pilot didn't impress me. Yet despite all of that, the first episode turned out to be a lot better than I expected. The car doing the transformer thing is a bit much, but overall, if they can keep the pace and intensity of the first episode, I'll definitely watch. BTW, this new series is more of a babefest in regards to main characters. The girl who plays Sarah is suweet, and the other two female leads are hot too.
