  • Oh my god, I started to listen to all his albums, and i came across this Masterpiece. I cant explain this fantastic piece of art.

  • Whao This is a masterpiece.

  • this song is a lysergic wash of fuzzy memories.

    the best ever psychadelic song.

  • how can anyone mention John Frusciante in the same breath as the Experience? are we fucking stupid, here? or just ignorant?

  • I m so happy to be alive...

  • @MrGrinetwork watch mine :) its with a twist xxx

  • I am pretty sure John Frusciante would cut hisself a finger off to compose such a song.

I am a big fan of JF, by the way. But this is one of the best soundtracks of my life!!!

  • @JeromefromSampacity I'm with ya man. This song...How can I put into words? Pure poetry.

  • i don't really know how to explain feeling good and frightened at the same time... but thats how this song makes me feel.

  • Beyond epic. This song is transports the listener to the deepest part of the ocean and returns you to an earth destroyed by man. Hendrix=genius.

  • It's Jimi's best song and is truly far out

  • @RBIKO5 agreed!

  • Hi ! Thanks mys friends ! I like this song a+ andrès

  • if only we could escape from war to the ocean :/

  • beautiful

  • WOW THIS SONG IS EPIC !!! I REMEMBER GETTING STONED AND LISTENING TO THIS SONG SO MANY TIMES.AND EVERY TIME I DID THIS SONG COULD PUT ME ON A DIFFERENT PLANET EVERY TIME !! HENDRIX WILL ALWAYS BE THE ULTIMATE GUITAR GOD !!!

  • this is soooooooo creative, genius...Electric Ladyland is one of their best albums..

  • how does he make those trippy sfx in the background?

  • colonna sonora?

  • this kinda sounds like the unforgiven 1 and 2 by metallica, just a tad.

  • @JoshyMyers YOU MEAN UNFORGIVEN SOUNDS LIKE 1983 HENDRIX WROTE THIS WAY BEFORE METALICA WAS EVEN AROUND !

  • @MrGarcia555

    This is what i mean!

  • @MrGarcia555 Yep the same band that sues the shit out of anyone who takes a note.

  • @blackstrat6897 ALL BANDS DO IT ! WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF YOU WORK YOUR ASS OFF TO CREATE SOMETHING AND AS SOON AS YOU TURN AROUND SOME ONE STEALS IT FROM YOU AND SELLS IT AND MAKES MILLIONS OFF SOMETHING HE STOLE FROM YOU ?

  • @MrGarcia555 Yeah, I would be fucking proud that someone decided to lend my material.

  • @snakeweirdo SURE YOU WOULD.WHILE THESE GUYS ARE MAKING MILLIONS FROM YOUR WORK AND CLAIMING IT AS THEIR OWN.THE THING IS THESE PEOPLE DON'T ASK FOR PERMISSION AND SPLIT THE PROFIT WITH THE ORIGINAL SONG WRITER THEY TRY TO RIP HIM OFF. IT'S AS IF A MECHANIC BUILDS A REAL NICE RACE CAR THEN SOME THUG BREAKS INTO HIS GARAGE AND STEALS IT AND WIN ALOT A MONEY IN A RACE.YOU WOULD BE OK WITH THAT ?

  • @MrGarcia555 Metallica are earning enough money to not lose out on a less successful artist writing a song that sounds vaguely familiar to one of theirs. Virtually all copyright lawsuits have been down to complete accident anyway, and even then, copyright lawsuits protect those who buy ideas rather than those who create them.

On an unrelated note, your caps lock key must really hate you.

  • @JacobMorrisNinetyTwo *vaguely similar. Forgive me, I knew exactly what words I meant in my head.

  • @JacobMorrisNinetyTwo On an unrelated note i see you're here checking out Hendrix ! you'll never catch me watching Metalica you can bet on that !

  • @JacobMorrisNinetyTwo So you're saying that Hendrix was less successful than Metalica ? are you talking money or their status as a musician ? the day that Metalica can at least duplicate Jimi Hendrix's legandary and guitar god status then we'll argue.but til the you fail pal.Hendrix didn't copy anything from Metalica ( they were in diapers when Hendrix owned and owns the rock world).if anything Metalica took from Hendrix.and i'm not saying they did.but who was first ? don't worry about the caps

  • @MrGarcia555 I didn't mention Hendrix. As it happens I'm a big Hendrix fan, I don't like Metallica and I was simply expressing my disapproval with copyright laws (which for the most part protect those who buy ideas rather than those who create them). It's all just another money-making scheme rather than an honest compensation plan. I think you've missed the point of my argument.

  • @JacobMorrisNinetyTwo Well that being the case there is only one thing to say sorry my bad, my friend !

  • I don't understand, 'cause the version I have has only 4 minutes and yours has 13 minutes, why is that so?

  • @extremband2000 The real 13-minute version has "Moon, Turn the Tides...Gently Gently Away" in it

  • what a song! and only 19000 views, fuck you people who don't have the patience to listen to a 10 minute hendrix song

  • I like AC/D

  • One of my faves. Why does nobody mention this song in a hendrix conversation?I don't get it.The intro sounds amazing even nowadays,The sounds were so ahead of there time.

  • HENDRIX IS GOD!

  • this song is an acid!!

  • welll its to bad! but out there somewhere there is a sun for everyone.

  • Christian Death does a pretty good cover of this song IMO. I'm just barely hearing the original now. Beautiful!

  • And they also threw this in my face

  • head this not too long ago and easily my favorite hendrix track

  • One of the few Hendrix compositions that the word "beautiful" could be plausibly applied to, this is my favorite.

  • You never need to be chemically enlightned, once you heard this...

  • 3:25 - 3:45

    so god damn groovy man

  • @sk8erguy011 no from 0:00-10:01 is so groovy.

  • @Zonren03 i must agree

  • @sk8erguy011 totally. I really like the stuff like right after 5:50 or so.

  • to be honest it doesnt fuckin matter what the title track is, this has always been my faveroute hendrix track, i only found out the title the other day coz i always listened to electric lady land on a cd with no case, and on a single track, possibly the most beautiful piece of musical composition i have ever heard,

  • There should be NO NEGATIVITY!!!! Jimi was ALL about POSITIVITY, and being free to explore who you are spiritually...not wasting your energy in negative thoughts which do nothing for you. Just sit back, relax and enjoy Jimi's exploration to Atlantis in 1968 and beyond. *James Marshall Hendrix~ RIP, Forever in our Hearts and Ears *

  • Most beautiful song I think I've ever heard

  • If this piece of music were a painting, it would cost millions."""

Its pure epic. Never done before - never done after.

  • @pbstratocaster well it still costs millions, the rights on the master which is the original

  • I can't wait to listen to this on acid.

  • @VanDoodah

wait till ya do its betyter than it is here

  • Oh say can you see it's really such a mess

Every inch of Earth is a fighting nest

Giant pencil and lipstick tube shaped things

Continue to rain and cause screaming pain

And the arctic stains from silver blue to bloody red

as our feet find the sand

and the sea is straight ahead, straight up ahead

  • Best song ever made...

  • Haven't heard this album in a while. For those who don't know it, but like the sound, you should listen to it beginning to end.

For those who don't like this. Go elsewhere.

  • A masterpiece from three masters:

    Jimi Hendrix 1942-1970

    Mitch Mitchell 1946-2008

    Chris Wood 1944-1983

  • This is one of the Greatest Musical Compositions that I've ever heard. Jimi Hendrix is truly a Musical Genius! This is extremely beautiful!

Too bad most people don't know this side of Jimi most only know his heavy side like Voodoo Child and Purple Haze (which is still great music). But this is out of sight, worthy of a Grammy! Wow!

  • 'scuse me while I kiss the skies ! L.S.D rules ! ! !

  • 9:23 to 9:37. is heavenly

  • The correct title of this music is, '1983 ... (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)'.

  • @andrefreakincreator Hence the reason [Pt.1] is rendered thus - grammatically anything contained between [ and ] is not part of the original title. And the reason [Pt.1] is added is because i had to upload the song in two parts, youtube allowing only 10:59 per upload. I can only suggest the next time you attempt a clever remark, get your facts straight first!

  • @billyshitcheese2 , is part of what, then?

  • @andrefreakincreator Erm...the song which, as I explained, had to be split into Pt.1 and Pt.2 because it is longer than the 10:59 youtube allows per upload. I'm really not sure what the mystery is...

  • @billyshitcheese2 , man, I'm not pickin' on you, ok? I'm just telling that "mermaid" isn't in the original title - which is all the words. Split the song in 10 parts if you want, that's not the point. If you have the original record with you, it's written '1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)'.

  • @andrefreakincreator You are right. My apologies.

  • @billyshitcheese2 , No problem. We're cool. Hug.

  • @andrefreakincreator I get a hug too!

  • @andrefreakincreator JH has no parts, he's the whole great stuff !

  • @andrefreakincreator ...your a bummer motherfucker..you should talk about that.

  • @enurrequiem , only if you give a dollar, fucked mother.

  • Best song ever written by far

  • just had to hear the orignal!

  • Why does Beggars Banquet by the Rolling Stones sound like it was phoned in from the bottom of a well when it came out at the same time as this album?
