  • I drove through here a day later from sc it was backed up. Debris everywhere I was shocked at the destruction I saw. Houses and billboards.

  • i live in dunn and it went right over my house

  • this tornado destroyed my stepmom's parent's house

  • I flew before this happened it was pretty bad

  • actually myrtle beach is in SC not nc and yea when went 2 myrtle beach,we took the same route

  • Well I'm going to myrtle beach next week, I know the tornado season is starting, but didn't know it would be this frightening..

  • We had a huge storm in Henrietta today. Pretty impressive I might add. Had a very defined shelf cloud. Not much lightening and thunder but one hell of a down draft. and the rain fell sideways. We did have a tornado watch until 10 P.M.

  • My brothers friends were driving from long island NY to florida when it happened. They said that the last thing on the radio was the EBS broadcasting "if youre hearing this you have 3 minutes to get out fo your car and into a ditch", then the golfball hail started...

  • wow i was driving from maryland to myrtle beach and we got caught IN it

  • This is some good video, I live in Dunn and that tornado in your video destroyed my house with countless others in that area and some lost their lives also. There was about 67 tornados that day in North Carolina and I believe 22 deaths. Like hannahbrockk13 said it was 1984 since the last outbreak of this magnitude for NC when they had about the same number of tornados. Again great video and I hope the rest of your vacation was pleasant..

  • Great capture! Just wish there weren't any deaths nor injuries as a result of this outbreak. Just remember, tornadoes can occur in all 50 states.

  • This is a great video. I live in Dunn and my parents' home is very close to where you were taping. You asked if this area is known for tornadoes. No, it isn't. It was the first I've ever experienced and hope to never experience another. You can't even imagine the destruction you were witnessing. I'm glad you had safe travel and were not caught up in the storm.

  • This video is quite impressive. I live about 7 miles from the areas that this tornado devastated. It is such an eerie feeling to see all the damage that it caused. Such an unreal sight. Thanks for sharing this video. Glad that you and your family were able to pass thru safely.

  • The second touch down is a family friend's house. They are in such bad shape right now but thanks for posting this so everyone can see what happened to our little town

  • I'm glad that you made it safely out of the area! I was at work glued to the TV watching these storms develop. Stuff like this doesn't happen around here very often, but when it does, the communities are great at coming together and helping their neighbor. Thank you for the footage.

  • Wow, this is a very impressive video...you can even make out the multi-vortex structure of the funnel. It looks like something from Tornado Alley.

It's so rare to have good video of a tornado in North Carolina, but this one outbreak (unfortunately) produced several very photogenic tornadoes.

  • only ten miles away from my house so terrible. my heart goes out to the ppl that were affected. im so lucky it didnt hit us but them tornadoes were so close to my house in fact there was one a mile from me on my rd but it went towards dunn

  • @nikki33100

We are all so sorry to hear about the devastation and we do continue to pray for all those affected. We can only begin to imagine what everyone has been going through. Our prayers are with everyone.

  • @irishpenny1981 all my familly lives in rochester was this in nc or rochester

  • @nikki33100 a tornado last night was 10 miles away fromme

  • This is one of the best videos of it yet. NC isn't typically known for tornadoes but almost anywhere in the US (except Hawaii and Alaska) can get tornadoes if the atmosphere is just right.

  • @raechelrenegade Alaska and Hawaii have both had tornadoes, its just rare. In fact, Hawaii has had tornadoes within the last year.

  • thanks for this video, i live 7 miles from here.
