it's the sun that causes temperature change not CO2 since CO2 is too small a contributor and actually leaves the atmosphere after a while so the man made CO2 which is a fraction of the total CO2 levels leaves the atmosphere quite quickly. The fact is that in the bronze age (a time of great prosperity) it was much hotter than it is now and the polar bears and penguins you refer to are fine. The world wide temperature is actually falling at the moment and has been for the last couple years.

Deforestation can cause floods, over hunting can cause depleted games reserves, etc. but what we do doesn't affect the worldwide ecological system. Manmade CO2 is neligable in the face of CO2 produced by nature, CO2 in the atmosphere dissipates after a short perod of time, the ozone layer repairs itself, the list goes on. So in short, yes global heating and cooling is all due to the sun.

Uh Fin...you need to rereview the data on global warming the veracity of Gores claims are now questioned by more and more scientists whose data he selectively used. The human impact on "global warming" is a drop in the bucket. The fact is CO2 does not raise the temperature. Gores own little diagram shows that the temperature rises and THEN Co2 levels went up. Additionally the "more than 30,000 scientists" has diminished with many now joining a joint lawsuit for misrepresentation.

The Earth has been warming and cooling since bacteria started reproducing on this planet. These same scientists that are NOW saying global warming were predicting glaciers to the Dakotas by the year 2000. We have barely gotten out of the little Ice Age from the 1300's. More Co2 = more plants? Your logic = epic fail. There's a natural balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide. Plants take in and put out one way, and animals work the opposite way, creating a system with works in harmony. However, having an excess amount of C02 doesn't create more plants. If you have an excess amount of oxygen does that create more animals?

...It's not the temperature difference in the water that will cool the earth. It's the changing of the deep ocean currents that currently deliver warm water from the eqator to the tropics. If the salinity of the oceans is reduced too far, the currents could be stopped.
