@chemical331 if you look at the foster mothers and how they dress, Astrid is kind of reflecting them, molding herself to them, like mother and daughter, and Astrid's mother hates that she's attaching herself to other female figures. Astrid's mother is afraid she'll lose her to someone else, so she tries to control her and keep her close even from prison. And she's not tired of the nice families, she thinks she destroy's them and that her and her mother are the problem. its sad u know.
