i also like most cars, but i hated the faqt than such huge engines made no power and handle very bad, if you import such cars in europe, you need to replace the suspention (springs and shocks), the are very dangerous in standart form.

Appears that the Mercedes may not have used it's first gear. I drove a couple of them for years. The awkward 4 speed auto would only use the high ratio first gear if manually put there or absolutely floored from the line. That car just isn't "jumping" enough - hence the substandard time for a 6.3.

Conditions change. Ambient air temp is the most important of all. Octane rating of the available fuel a killer because this 6.3 is tuned for 100 octane with zero alcohol. Road temps and the perfect tire pressure is hard to quess without more hot humid climate practice. Get it wrong and you spin the tires.
Young auto fans might find the above hard to fathom. I don't. I drove "cars" very similar to the above Goat. The 6.3 could take almost every stock car of it's era. Not untill the E500 of the early 1990 could any Mercedes compare. It is the perfect Q Car. Waxenberger, the famous Mercedes race engineer, won his first race. It was the first race since that massive accident involving the 300 SL that too numerous lives in the mid 1950s.
GTOs are cool but I'm into Mercedes.
