  • translate on russian pleaseeeeeeeeee

  • WOW thanks man i got it in like 3 or 4 tries

  • So if you were to read a sheet of music, for "slurs" would you use this technique?

  • mmk, when I whistle what tends to happen is that when I reach a really high or low register my tone goes to phooey and it sounds really airy. any suggestions?

  • My tongue can't move that fast!!

  • @IHateMyLifeAlotAlot Yea, it takes practice. :)

  • he got a hairline like chris bosh's girlfriend

  • @hangshan1 I don't know who that is but she must be horrible looking if my hairline reminds you of her.

  • @WhistlersBrother LOL! I have successfully learned to whistle! I'm not sure if it was the videos or just constant practice, but it took about 2 days. Thanks!

  • @hangshan1 Cool man, congrats!!

  • Lol good job I NEED TO ASK YOU SOMETIN, do you know how to whistle with your fingers in your mouth tho i wann to kno.

  • @Morethentheusual I have never been able to whistle with fingers in my mouth. Tried it a thousand times, just can't seem to be able to do it!!

  • i can pucker whistle and do the smiling 1 so if i change between them does that count as warbling

  • @bwoy12345 I don't really know...

  • Thank you for the videos, I'm at the point where I can make a pretty strong sound, but have very little knowledge of pitch. I think everything I whistle is in one key. Are they any "beginner whistle along" tunes available online to sort of help expand my range of whistling past one series of notes

  • @aspace23 I just whistle any song I hear, whatever comes on the radio... I can't whistle it all perfectly the first try, but whistling along to music is great for working on your pitch and it also challenges you so your whistling improves. Over time you will get better, keep at it!

  • Man i gotta tell u,ur the best i ever heard :)

too bad i cant learn that fast hehe

  • @sXvable Thanks! I've been whistling for almost 40 years now... It does take time and lots of practice to get good. (Like most worthwhile things.)

  • i want to be a pro whistler. lol

  • OK he is gay

  • @Sozment09 Would it bother you if I was? LOL

You should check out my video called "In The Butt" -- I think you would enjoy it.

  • @WhistlersBrother eh you're just effusive, keep it up!

  • @okilfeathermusic I know, LOL. (Great word, by the way.) I just have to say that whenever somebody calls somebody gay because it's 2011 and people need to get over it already. It's not an insult in my book because there's nothing wrong with being gay. I some friends who are gay and every one of them is one of the best people I have ever had the honor of calling a friend.

  • You do the opposite of what I do. I keep my tongue at the bottom of my mouth always and when i want to warble, I lift my tongue.

  • Do some 3d mappings of your mouth.

  • @existentaeinutila Haha, you are actually not the first person to suggest this... LOL I wish I could put a little 3D scanner in there. Maybe some day if I ever get rich I will do a color CT scan in 3D. That would probably be... disgusting now that I think about it. LOL

  • i am 13 and this is sooo easy for me thanks. i am like the best whistler in my school and you are a great inspiration for me. thanks for all of the help :)

  • @cheybug394 Awesome! I hope you always keep whistling!

  • @WhistlersBrother Hi WB! Great Vids. I have a question for you though on warbling. I have been whistling all my life and can do the whole range of notes, and warbling comes easy.

I found this vid really interesting though as I have a third way of warbling!

I keep my tongue stationary but move the front of my tongue, not the tip, but an area at the front. This works great for me, but I am certainly going to practice on your technique.

Have you heard of my method?

  • whenever I touch my bottom lip it just cuts off and I can only hear air passing through. what should I do?

  • @NyYanks1994 Hmmm... I'm not sure, other than to say it does take some experimentation with how you hold your jaw, tongue, and lips, to still get a sound. For me the front of my tongue curves upward slightly when doing this, and there is still a little bit of lower lip above the top of the front edge of my tongue when I place it there. It's not easy, took me a long time to get a solid tone with it, may take a lot of patience and trial and error for you to do it. I hope this helps!

  • Hope I can do this your way, right now I do it as though I would be saying Lu Lu Lu Lu. I guess my warbling is like what the other guy does that you mentioned.

  • @Torn80cj Hey, whatever works for ya... If you're already successful with another method, why re-invent the wheel? This is just what works for me but I know many people find it easier to use the roof of the mouth to warble.

  • All heil to the Lord of Elrond!

(Now we finally know what he`s donig with all his free time=p)

  • @KradolfusdePedoclown Haha!! I've been told I look like a lot of people before, but this is the coolest one by far. I wouldn't mind being a wise and powerful half-elven ruler in Middle Earth. I bet he can have any elf chick he wants.

  • @WhistlersBrother Your lips are like made for sucking wacko jacko dick haha xD

  • @successfultroll666 Sadly, he's dead. And I think I'm about 30 years too old for him anyway.

  • holy crap!! got it fist try!(but i still cant change pitch to well :()

  • @kingcobrajh Keep practicing... I wasn't able to change pitch very well either when I first started doing this.

  • i don't want to sound homo. but when you whistle can you zoom in to your mouth more and cheeks so we can kinda know how it's suppose to look.

  • @MyDMOON Ha Ha, that was hilarious!! I will keep this in mind in the future if I do more tutorials. On this one, I don't think it would help anyway though; there really wouldn't be anything to see. All of the action causing the warble is inside the mouth, with the tongue. So it wouldn't help unless I could get a dentist to stick a camera inside my mouth. Sorry about that.

  • Hey! I know how to warble! But I am not that good at whistling thoug.

  • I could never whistle and i took it upon myself to teach myself. I whistled everywhere I went and now I can safely say that I'm a pretty good whistler. However, I find myself not only blowing air out, but sucking air in. Is this ok? It helps me to keep my breath and whistle fluently.

  • @chadbro13 Yea man, of course! I regularly switch between inhaling and exhaling too... I think most experienced whistlers do. You can go forever doing that.

  • how do u whistle so low? im prty good and have been whistling since a kid and have no problems producing and sustaining tone medium and high, but once i try to hit low ranges it just sounds like im blowing wind more than a whistle.

  • @k00bZMc Well, to whistle low the opening of your pucker has to be wider, and the space inside your mouth has to be bigger. When whistling low tones my mouth is open wider (jaw dropped lower), and I think I move my jaw forward a little too to make more room inside. (Not all the way out to where the jaw locks, just pushed forward a little.) You might also need to use more airflow, because with the wider opening of the pucker it will take more air pressure to produce a tone.

  • Yes, I'm practising, too :) Great tutorial, Dave!

  • @ninonthatsme Thanks Ninon!!

  • It seems impossible to be in a bad mood while whistling.

You must be a very happy guy!

  • @rdidri Well, not impossible, but it usually is a happy thing. And yes, I usually am pretty happy unless I have a good reason not to be. I'm not missing any limbs, not homeless, not starving in a country where they have no electricity or clean water, etc... All the other little problems in life are just that. Little. :)

  • Okay, warbling will have to wait. I'm still working on relaxing my jaw. Always entertaining and informative. Nice series.

  • @robertpina99 LOL All in good time. It is really fun though, when you get the hang of it. I first taught myself to warble because I wanted to be able to whistle "The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly". Took me forever to be able to do it.

  • @WhistlersBrother I don't think I've heard you whistle the good, the bad and the ugly. You have to make a video of that.

  • @robertpina99 Well... Unless I can somehow get permission from Ennio Morricone, I won't be able to do it. I am trying to make sure I don't have any copyright issues on my channel from now on. I just deleted several vids for this reason (other cover tunes--I Dream of Jeannie, Hannukah Song, etc.). Otherwise I would have put that into this vid... :( Oh well. Good news is I actually managed to get official permission for my Andy Griffith Theme cover, so that one gets to stay up!!

  • do you whistle in or out? or both?

  • @drunkenbozo1994 I whistle both in and out, although to be honest I have much more difficulty warbling on the inhale so usually when you hear me warble it's on the exhale. But I regularly switch between exhaling and inhaling whenever I'm whistling.

  • @WhistlersBrother oh ok. i warble both in and out, but like i commented on your other video its by moving my uvula back and forth. ive only just learned to warble whistling out like that. if i want a high pitched warble i whistle in, medium to low pitch i warble whistling out. id make a video to show, but i dont have a camera!!!

  • im practicing!

  • @StephanieIAm Cool, practice makes perfect, as they say!

  • Nice man, This helped.

  • @smoshworld Cool!
