  • everybody gets it!

  • This just plain ROCKS!!

  • Rename this vid, cuz it seems it's supposed to be called "In The Mood/ 2112 Grand Finale"

  • I always get chills up my spine when the voice comes in at the end... Epic song!

  • Wait, what was he saying insted of "baby" on In The Mood?!

  • @MRguitarman8 Possibly "Cookie"?

  • @MRguitarman8 Groupie

  • 1:36 crowd gets silent 1:38 nunununownowmomomo crowd cheers like crazy

  • 3:11

Rush excels as the crowd is moved to their feet.

    This, gentlemen, is rock.

  • Rush have assumed control

  • wooooooooooooooooooooo

  • "In the Mood" + "2112" = mind blown

  • "Attention all planets of the Solar Federation: We have assumed control."

Sweet! (Saw them on Moving Pictures tour)

  • 1:43 power rock pose. Lerxst is second to none!

  • IN THE MOOD

    WOW!!!

    still love it

  • I love your feedback(s)... all the same for me!

Goosebumps every time, ESL like thee best version (video, cuz LP didnt have, though it had La Villa), the drums, the break from In the Mood--> opening riff classic! --gets me jumping!

The sick-thick bass, the crazy tonal run and cat scratches at the end with Big Al leaning and poised for his pinky to fully saturate his barred-chord(s), its too much!!! The feedback makes me CAN'T STOP THINKING BIG.

Ahh....better after typing. ESL is choice.

  • greatest guitarist of all time. no one can match his genius and creative power of musical output. pure genius, purely uncontested.

  • So, is Alex Lifeson one of the all-time most underrated guitarists? I love his playing. And, he can play anything. But, no one except Rush fans notice him.

  • Grand Finale doesn't actually begin until about 1:44.

  • Ok my hair standing straight up! Powerful Stuff!

  • i like how they did the medley in the ESL DVD.

    however,

i was pleasantly surprised to hear a bootleg from the Moving Pictures tour.

instead of starting out with By Tor,

they begin with a reggae snippet of Working Man,

    slip into the rock version,

    then immediately segue into Hemispheres/Armageddon.

only after a bit of Armageddon do they switch into By Tor/In The End/In The Mood/Grand Finale.

this version gives me the chills everytime.

deathless stuff. crushing guitar and drums.

  • Grande Finale has got to be one of the best Rush tunes out there. I still remember the 1st time I heard it. Practically wore out the tape listening to it over and over again. These days I play it in my Rush cover band, and it still rocks the same as it did 30 years ago! All I can say is - Incredible song writing guys!!

  • monster sound by just 3 guys...its amazing

  • 1:41-1:47=EPIC

  • You'd think if they edited out By Tor and In the End they'd also cut out In the Mood for this vid...

  • Epic bass playing between 2:30-2:36!! WOW! Good stuff!

  • Grand Finale is possibly the greatest finisher of any live show in the world. 0:00-3:37 is mindblowing!

  • @Jags6523 Not Possibly - Absolutely!!!

  • All _planets_ of the solar federation :)

  • Attention all members of the solar federation we have assumed control, that is the most powerfull 11 words anyone will ever hear...

  • actually, 36 word stated together

  • i meant the last 11 words,1.attention2.all3.members4.of5.the6.solar7.federation8.we9.have10.assumed11.control...

  • i see

  • Children at home take note...this is how its done. Rush damn near at their peak.

  • Alex Lifeson...enough said

  • am i stupid for not realizing whats going on here? this is in the mood from there first album. i was tricked wasn't i. damn rushrolled

  • my bad i had to wait lol, impatient

  • Comment removed

  • F*CKING MINDBLOWING !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • besser gehts nicht mehr......perfect

  • listen to geddy's bass at 1:49!

  • that's fuckin killer!

  • WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL!

  • Alex is OFF THE HOOK! At 3:16 he becomes a human violin, buttering that guitar neck. He so good I started laughing. The greatest rock band ever...EVER!

  • where did you get this vid, it's not on the dvd...

  • I think it's on the "A Show of Hands" DVD

  • Scratch that. The voice is at the end :p

  • Wait-did a little research. This is Exit...Stage Left. After the medely at the end they closed with 2112:Grande Finale. You can tell by Geddy's Rickenbacker and Alex's Starat and red jacket.

  • I don't think so. I have Exit Stage Left. At the end of it, there is NO "We have assumed control". Unless I'm deaf.

  • That's weird...

  • The DVD Exit...Stage Left.

  • W.E. H.A.V.E. A.S.S.U.M.E.D. C.O.N.T.R.O.L. to me stands for "Waylaying Earth, Heaven's armies Vanquish Each Army Showing Six-six-six Until Messiah's Empire Displays Control Next, Taking Reins Of Lands"

  • man, and i thought i was on drugs

  • ok... that comment was crazy

  • It's not crazy if you know biblical prophecy and what it portends..... The music is so powerful it elicits such allusions....

  • What the fuck are you talking about? I think the only one who's crazy here is you! What "In The Mood" is about is obvious, but the story of 2112 is simply the result of the kinds of books Peart was interested in at the time (individualism/philosophy/the power of one/with an outer space flavour as far as 2112 goes) Big deal. Science fiction's a lot less scarier than brainwashed, depressing, we're-all-going-to-die wackos that go around talking about the bible and prophecies.

  • C.H.O.L.L.I.N.G. = "Crazy Hatred Of Lunatic Liar Is Now Godless"

  • Acronym, your a crazy fuck. Religous fanatic, and well you turn every word into an acronym.

  • Your 666 is crazy. You like the mark of the beast?

  • no, its just a memorable number

  • G.R.A.N.D. F.I.N.A.L.E. to me stands for "God Returns And Next Defends Forsaken Israel, 'Nuking' All Land's Enemies" (Why do you think all the world's attention is trained on tiny Israel? It's because the Grand Finale will happen eventually....)

  • this is just ridiculous I mean talk about genius

it's just doesn't get any better than this

    Rush=ultimate rock band!

  • Also, this is a medley of songs. The first song In The Mood, is off their first album the only 2112 part of this song is the last minute or so.

  • Are you kidding me? 70's Rush is absolutely brilliant. 2112 is one of the most genius concept albums out there, Rush was amazing in the 80's yes but their 70's stuff is superb.

  • hey can anybody tell me if they know a full version of 2112 on youtube or any other sites like it?

  • that song rocks

  • i just don't see a science fiction story unfolding with this type of almost redneck-sounding rock'n roll. Rush got a lot better after this album.

  • after their first or 2112? its true of both... they got better with time... like a fine wine... aged to perfection... haha

  • Yes, up until about Moving Pictures, but even then, their output from "Rush" to "Moving Pictures" or even as far as Grace Under Pressure was very good.

  • I find my top 6 favorite albums came after "Moving Pictures"... Including my number 1! Haha. To each his own!!

  • Rush made you...and Rush can take you away.

  • Great Life to Geddy Lee
