Can you do the same thing but with a 5 port switch instead of a router? I tried this and it works, but the traffic is VERYslow. I'm assuming because traffic is going back to my extreme and then coming back to the express side of the network. I have a NAS I'm trying to connect to.. is there a way to keep it all on the airport express side of the network, instead of going all over wifi?
If I bought another Airport extreme and set IT up as a bridge, would traffic all stay on that side of the lan?
Clear as mud. Between the cell phone and skipping around and the complete lack of an explanation of why this could be necessary and/or useful, it seems like a lot of tweaking for no real payoff.
hi i have my service provider wireless router which is telus ,i just got this service ,
i want to extend network network of my service provider router with my airport utility,i have done so many different attemps but sofar no luck, have any idea pls
i enjoyed your video... I hae a problem maybe you can give me some insight. I have an airport express and want to use it as a wireless client for my Yamaha rx-a1000 receiver to access the internet for internet radio etc and access the media server that is connected to my desktop PC. The FAQ on Applecom has some info and I have followed it but was not successful. Will I be able to use the LAN connector on the express unit or will I have to use the USB. If I have to use the USB on the express...
i already have a linkseys router but im thinking of gettin this so i can have better internet upstairs. will this work? is all i need to do plug it in to the wall.
I'm sure this has been said... but though you are very knowledgeable I could not watch your whole video b/c you phone ringing was driving me mad. Next time you take video turn your ringer off.
my problem is that I have a verizon westell 7500 router/modem. I have bought a time machine and would like to bridge my time machine (which is also an airport extreme) and then bridge them so that the 7500 is the modem and the time machine is the router. Please respond I am dying here.
Hi im trying to put my airport extreme in bridge mode because my network(at&t u-verse) only allows you to use their routers. I connected my airport extreme to my computer via ethernet but when I try to find it in airport utilities it says there are no airport devices that it could find. PLEASE HELP
hey man quick question. I want to extend the range of my Netgear router, by using my airport express. How do i go about this exactly? Cause my airport express isnt detected unless there is an ethernet attached to it.
My netgear is in the living room and the range to the bedroom is really bad. So i was going to put an airport express there and act as a bridge. can you let me know if its possible, thanks man.
THIS IS THE SETUP I USE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT: Airport Express connected to Airport Extreme. Switching hub from Airport Express to HDTV, AV Component, Xbox 360 & PS3. Airtunes via Airport Express to AV component.
I just got the new Airport Express (n) to replace my Airport Express. I want to keep the Express because it powers my Ipod Hi-Fi speaker (the new Extreme does not have a RCA jack). I connected an ehternet cable from Extreme to Express and I cant get the Express to work. Can you help? THanks
This is by far the worst tutorial I've ever seen. A) silence your cell phone. Are you seriously trying to tell people that you couldn't do something about that damn thing? No one gives two poops about your incoming calls. B) If you can make a video learn to edit. We don't need to hear you sneeze. C) the real issue is that you can't even help people because you skip over the most crucial parts.
so can i hook my desktop up to it with a Ethernet cable and use it as a wireless adapter, since i have a router upstairs and no Ethernet plugs downstairs?
@Civilianmusic uhm bro I have a question, is the Airport Express a router? Like, if I connect it to my outlet, will I be able to connect to it as a router and feed of it as a connection? I'm curious as to how it works exactly.
hey can you help me to setup my printer to my airport express is all set up with internet but can't configure my printer, I would really thank you, you are so smart thank you...
hey! can i use my airport express with a nun-wireless router?? and if yer i have another computer that doesn't have a wireless card so can i plug that computer somewhere?? thankss
can you use the airport express as a bridge for xbox and get an open nat because i would like to have an open nat and be able to connect to my internet using 802.11n
dose the airport express make your broadband wifi and if so how many tings can you use it on coupld I use it on my laptop and my phone and my ipod ? I use a mac
Will any router work with this ? I have a Airport Extreme, and a USRobotics 8054, and a belkin wireless g router...the USR and belkin aren't being used right now, but i want to hook up my XBOX360 and dish network reciever to the internet without running wires...
hi there, great video and very helpful. I need your advice on how to use Airport Express as a Wireless bridge to connect to my 2Wire Router/Network. I will be using SlingBox to connect to Airport and use the wireless connection. Thanks.
i have a cable modem that i use to connect my ps3 to the internet but i want to go wifi.... can i simply plug the ethernet cord from the modem into the airport express and make my ps3 wireless?? or do i have to buy something else??
could any1 tell me if there's anyway to set up an airport express in a dorm room in college. The dorms have wireless but we wanna set up a printer for all of us to share wirelessly in our room. thx

Do you know how to turn your phone on silent??
Besides, you didn't explain how to set up the express as a bridge. "Just answer the questions it asks you" does not explain how to set it up.
