Airport Express as Wireless Bridge

Can you do the same thing but with a 5 port switch instead of a router? I tried this and it works, but the traffic is VERYslow. I'm assuming because traffic is going back to my extreme and then coming back to the express side of the network. I have a NAS I'm trying to connect to.. is there a way to keep it all on the airport express side of the network, instead of going all over wifi?

If I bought another Airport extreme and set IT up as a bridge, would traffic all stay on that side of the lan?

my problem is that I have a verizon westell 7500 router/modem. I have bought a time machine and would like to bridge my time machine (which is also an airport extreme) and then bridge them so that the 7500 is the modem and the time machine is the router. Please respond I am dying here.

Hi im trying to put my airport extreme in bridge mode because my network(at&t u-verse) only allows you to use their routers. I connected my airport extreme to my computer via ethernet but when I try to find it in airport utilities it says there are no airport devices that it could find. PLEASE HELP

hey man quick question. I want to extend the range of my Netgear router, by using my airport express. How do i go about this exactly? Cause my airport express isnt detected unless there is an ethernet attached to it.

My netgear is in the living room and the range to the bedroom is really bad. So i was going to put an airport express there and act as a bridge. can you let me know if its possible, thanks man.

THIS IS THE SETUP I USE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT: Airport Express connected to Airport Extreme. Switching hub from Airport Express to HDTV, AV Component, Xbox 360 & PS3. Airtunes via Airport Express to AV component.

I just got the new Airport Express (n) to replace my Airport Express. I want to keep the Express because it powers my Ipod Hi-Fi speaker (the new Extreme does not have a RCA jack). I connected an ehternet cable from Extreme to Express and I cant get the Express to work. Can you help? THanks

You can just configure it to act as a Router, and when you want to Print just switch networks. I know it is a workaround, but unless your Colleges WiFi supports WDS then that is your best option!

You would take your Linksys router out of the loop. You would plug the airport router directly into the modem. You would use the airport router for your wireless internet, then you would get a USB hub, plug that into the Airport then the printer and Hard drive into the USB hard drive.
