It's hard to catch a clear shot, but it does kinda look like the "lipstick" Charvel logo. As for Charvel being "the Japanese Jackson", you could say the ones in the middle years were, kinda. Wayne Charvel made the early ones in the US (which is why those original San Dimas ones are so pricey), and then sold the company to Grover Jackson.

Not sure why they started making Japanese ones ("budget" models?), but they are supposedly quite a bit better than the same era Jacksons.
