On man...what is AI? He was a animal and an insperation! I never met him but I dug his stuff. I remember surfing the day after he died and it was overhead. I thought "what would AI do?" That day I went deeper, got more vertical, and had a bigger smile on my face. I don't care if it was drugs, a bad heart, or a act of God...his legacy should inspire people to fight to be the best and enjoy the rewards of the battle. Thanks AI.

I arrived in Hawaii in January of 2006 and I didnt have a clue about surfing. But I started following it and started surfing myself. Andy and Bruce were my favorite surfers. I know kelly slater is the best surfer ever but I loved the Irons style, the quick HOLY CRAP !did you see that! style.RIP in heaven where there is always epic waves.

totally cried at the end... i was blessed to grow up in Kailua Oahu and surf along Andy & Bruce in all the HASA, NSSA events esp at Trestles. I remember seeing Andy at Ala Moana Bowls when we were kids (were the same age) and I saw him pop his trademark backside aerial 360 and just thought. "one day this guy is gonna be world champ for sure!" So blessed I can say we are from the state, the same ocean, the same ohana and the same bloodline of proud hawaii based people. RIP Andy

Wow.. what an amazing tribute. I feel so sorry for Lyndie and Andy Jr, for their loss. For Bruce and all of the people in the surf community. I, just as a fan, feel robbed and devastated still, so I can only imagine the pain these people must feel. Andy was of another making than most surfers. He is a legend and he will never be forgotten. That is what we, as fans, has to make sure. We need to tell the tales of AI surfing and living. R.I.P Andy. Thank you for living and surfing!
