I don't think "who's the best" really matters to the family of the person being Honored, do you? They see the Flag drapped casket, they see the uniforms carrying the casket with great care, they jump and usually someone cries when the volley is fired, then, when the Flag is presented the realization begins to hit home that their loved one is gone. They really don't care who has the best firing party. When TAPS is sounded even the old vets water up and the family, they try to understand.

As a retired Army Sergeant Major, I served with Charlie Guard 3rd Platoon 1st firing party from Feb 80 thru Feb 82! We buried Omar Nelson Bradley and the former boxer Joe Louis Barrow in the same week! Man, what a week! 3 perfect cracks in both funerals! HOOAH!!
