Do you have acopy of urban shakedown playing living on the edge...they appeared on the same programme at killing joke...i have been looking for it for over20 years
I recorded this off of the TV when it was broadcast & virtually wore the tape through with repeated viewings! Whatever You Want showed some amazing early 80s performance footage (B.Party, Kennedys, Prunes, Fad, Gun Club), but these Killing Joke songs were by far the greatest... Is "The Pandys Are Coming" on here as well?
The manger was called "Schlacky" and he made a mint when the place "accidently" burnt out. My missus worked behind the bar in 80/81. ..and i am currently at war with the lawyers over a house about 1k down the road.
my first time seeing killing joke was in the late 80s- at the astoria in london- l wandered upstairs and looked down on the crowd- they were all as one in a tribal dance- amazing band- unique- artistic- simply brilliant- long live the killing joke...
I'll probably catch hell for saying this but this eats their "Adorations" era stuff for breakfast. Having said that I fucking LOVE this band and have done so for twenty eight years. rip Raven
I know them from eons ago and sort of agree: they swung between the shit and the sublime for me. No bad thing, they pushed themselves, I feel the same with the Fall - great bands make shit songs

Excellent. I have this on Betamax somewhere.
'whatever you want' and the repeat show 'whatever you didn't get'. Fucking hell.
I remember Jaz said that KJ had been sent by God to stamp out mediocrity. HA!
