Yeah, you do need full Hl2, it's a mod, it runs mostly off the Hl2 engine and it's required to have those files it's run from.

No, it isn't.

GMod is a mod for the Source engine (version 9 requires HL2, though) and doesn't contain models from other Source games (duh). The tools, lua implementation etc. are quite a lot of work, I'd even say making such a game - and making it foolproof - is harder than making a "normal" FPS.

actually it is easier than you think, you can make ropes, thrusters, or even spawn models, enemies, weapons, etc. within half life 2. Have you not read what Garry Newman said himself? He knew next to nothing when he made his mod. All he did was play with the console then come up with a way to implement that into a game lol.

Yeah. I'm sorry that you just don't understand that you don't need the exact materials to be a GMOD. GMOD is only just a physics sandbox. You can do anything in GMOD that you can in HL2 or any other Source game for that matter. just simply bind keys to console commands. The only things truthfully done by Garry was just the LUA which if you know how to program a little you can do it. YOu want to know what really was amazing? forget Garrys Mod, go for Wire Mod. But that playing around with the cheap weapons instakill is lame. And those Zombigames are not THAT nice in my taste. I like empires, Dystopia, PVKII and some others.

Yea, but i like Zenith more, the gore is much better, instead of splatting the blood into the players face, it sprouts out of the wounds as the heart beates. In Tactical it does splat into the players face, and theres nearly no blood on the floors and walls :/

But the Zombies are really nice in tactical SMOD, they are ucking fast, but i played throug the Motel in hard mode in one time. (Full enemy weapon skill and nerly no hp)

Its nice, but try SMOD: Zenith it rockz so hard!
