i love him. i also love how he's smiling throughout the whole thing. it means he's enjoying it, which is key to good music. i notice the amplitude of tricks he uses as well. (e.g. trills, multiple stops, spicatto, glissandos, and simultaneous pizzacato/arco)

as a violinist (who's also middle-eastern) i highly enjoy these videos. i'm trying to learn the more casual style of playing like this.

Thank you. I found that out last week actually.  I had seen him play as a much older man (doing Farid, Alrabee3 I think), I just didn't recognize him from when he was that young.

Do you know if he is the one playing the violin solo in the intro to Risal Min Tahtalma'? Abdel Halim says his name in the beginning, but I can't rememer it and I haven't found it right from the start on YouTube (or anywhere else). My cassette tapes are long gone :)
