I saw this video when it was new. I'm back because the song is a mood and when that mood hits me - I think of this song and listen again. Real music from a real thinking artist. Very moody and deep rooting chords. The video makes me smile near the end

Anything Camper and Cracker does is always great but what is this all about? David Lowery marries Elvira: Mistress of the Dark? Do they sleep in a double coffin during the day? Do they drink bloody mary's  for breakfast?

Any Cracker song is always great, creative etc. Maybe its just me but I think Guarded by Monkeys was some kind of a fork in the road. The road that is being portrayed now is disturbing to me from a psychological point of view. So I wish to emphasize that artistically Lowery is always a cut way above the rest. Psych/Soc wise though I find it difficult to digest. I want some monkey meat pronto.

Nice, gentle soothing sound. Should have been top of the charts but like most great and wonderful songs had disappeared into 'oblivion' (no pun intended). A nice guy. I remember being a big fan of Camper and remember seeing him play in Houston with a band from Europe (darn I cannot remember the name). This was after the first Cracker album but slightly before it was released.  I remember trying to help him carry his amp, but he said he got it. But then said it went to 11. I cracked up. As far as I am concerned, this man deserves to be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame. Camper was really right next to REM as far as rejuvenating rock in the 80's.

Simple, drenched in underwater reverb guitar. An nice open sound and slow groove. A few high school-ish clunkers in the lyrics, but I have a feeling Mr. Lowery is not spending a lot of time in producing these pieces, and he means for us to take the rough edges as evidence of immediacy and freshness.
