The basic ingredient for becoming deconverted is learning to think for one's self without reliance on what you are told. It is a rational process, not the result of some sort of painful emotional trauma as the theists so condescendingly assert.

Hi Silvercastle, it takes alot of guts to tell your story about what happened in the church single. I can relate to what you are saying about church people being fake and wearing a mask. I have been burned by the "church" and have started a group based on this, kind of unique in nature. Thanks for sharing, sorry you've had that experience too.

Yes, that's what he admitted to.

His point is, that the beliefs that had been imposed upon him, ran contrary to his experience as he wanted to live it.

He has now divested himself of religious dogma so that he can freely be himself.
