  • @dwdrummer2112 what sabians are they exactly? Are they aax xplosions and what sizes? I really like your A customs, but my church has them and I don't want to buy the same ones they have, so these are probably my second choice

  • This guy is probably the most underrated drummer ever

  • AWESOME

  • @dwdrummer2112 what exactly do you do at 3:12. I've been trying to figure it out for months! Thanks!

  • Just wow. I cannot believe that in this day and age, every fucking drum cover I look at has bullshit god crap all over it now. Would you people forget your ancient beliefs already? You realize these beliefs of yours are conjured up by the same people who thought the earth was flat, thought the earth was the centre of the universe and sacrificed there people for nothing. Makes me sick. OPEN YOUR EYES. Go watch some Steven Hawkings or something.

  • @joeylion8 you can't tell anyone that you have never listened watched or done anything non Christian related. I admire that he had the curage to say that he's a Christian drummer, because i'm sure that you would never have the curage to do that.

  • Hate the song, Love the drummer! haha

  • absolutely sick man, haha, you're unbelievable! :D

  • this guy is amazing

  • By far the best drum cover to this song!

  • Nice cover, maybe you should consider doing a cover on "Party Rock Anthem". Oh wait then all these goodie goodies will flip...

  • Wow.. He did a non Christian song.. Lets get over that part and enjoy the fact that his cover was LEGIT and that its JUST A SONG.. Not a big deal guys

  • Awesome man! Subscribed! ;)

  • That snare is godly

  • measures are man and your battery dw hype?

  • You're so good at drums

  • My drum teacher has the exact same snare its amazing.

  • Weird faces

  • how long have you been playing?

  • drumming is your job as well????? dude hook a brother up! sick cover by the way

  • you like to mix it up by adding songs about alien sex?

  • DUDE!....first of all I want to say...WHOA , the drum cover was PERFECT....second how did u get your sound so CLEAR?!?!?.......and what kit is that????.....the whole video was AWESOME.....def..sub

  • You're my inspiration bro! I have wanted wanted to Play the drums since I was like 10 years old and now I am 17 in 10 days and I So want to learn. Keep it up! You're amazing and you're gonna go far with this talent!

  • I loved that fill @ 1:18. Nice to see another vid post from ya guy! Keep up killing those drums!

  • Who the hell cares about his religion right now. You're watching a video of him playing drums. Last time I checked, and I'm a drummer as well, so I check these things, drums don't make or break religion.

Look at RED. Their music itself isn't all that "Christian-e" sounding. And they're still badass. (I make this comparison because I'm Agnostic).

They're drums, a hobby, and his job. Does it matter that the song he's playing to is about alien sex?

  • Dude that was sick

  • Are you in a band? This is great, by the way. :D

  • @MsLecraefan He's in DecembeRadio

  • BTW, this cover is great! If only i knew how to play, but ill let my lil bro do his thing :D

    God bless,

    BevC.

  • God said to use your talents and multiply them. He gave you one? Bring back 3. 5? Bring back ten. Theres nothing wrong with what Kaleb did. Its not like he's doing to promote the wrong, but using his talent (drumming) to reach out to people. God said alooooot of things. Dont insinuate hes wrong just cause the song is "worldly".

    God bless,

    BevC.

  • sick man, keep it up. drummers do need variation in their covers, undoubtedly.

  • Great!!! God bless you!!!

  • the cover was sick like always man, but really?? Katy Perry?? come on man!

  • Awesome cover Kaleb. I love your videos. I was wondering, what drumheads do you use?

  • what make is that snare?

  • Kaleb, can you do a cover for "Sweet Child o'Mine"?

  • Aweomse job man! still making songs sound sweet lol and thats a cool sounding snare you are using

  • @joeylion8 well first of all, i'm sincerely sorry if i upset you by playing this song. that was never my intent. second, my drumming will never be above my God. No debate on that. but what you are essentially saying in your comment is that a Christian cannot play anything but "Christian" music. i disagree. just as i believe we don't have to only watch Christian shows (i watch ESPN all the time) or read Christian books. drumming is my hobby. it is also my job. it does not change my faith.

  • @joeylion8 Furthermore, i also try to be careful of the songs i post. i try to censor what i play. i did not feel like the version of this song was inappropriate. but that is a judgement call that i made. you may feel very differently. and i can respect that. but by playing this song certainly does not mean i've "sold out" and cover only secular songs. that will never happen. thank you for watching my videos and i hope that you haven't lost respect for me. if you have, i am truly sorry.

  • @dwdrummer2112 its not always the words in the song but hearts behied them what they minester to you when you listen to them. when daivd played his harp for saul, when he was trubled, his heart was for god so he minestered god and thats way saul felt better when he played now who are these worldly aristed what do they promote sin it might not be in the songs but it is in their hearts and thats what they minester. i still love you passion you show when you play i learn much from just wachting you

  • @joeylion8 Sure, Metallica has a couple of songs with strong language in it, but I avoid those. Still, I know a group of people that would come close to passing out if I mentioned listening to them in their presence. I consider myself a pretty die-hard Christian, I try to live my life in every way for God. He tells us that what might be OK for me to listen to may not be OK for you to listen to, which is fine. But he tells us not to judge others based on what makes us sin. There ARE gray areas

  • @Stormleader42 so gray areas can be warm out of cold and hot

and god doesnt want that he would rather have you cold as in in sin than warm and if you are a die hard christian than you know what i am talking about and im not saying your not.

  • @joeylion8 Did you read my other comments? Because I think I already covered what you are asking in them, but I'm not sure. I normally don't comment on people's spelling and grammar, but I honestly cannot make out what you are trying to say, sorry. :/ But to summarize, yes, there are those who are "warm" in their gray areas, but I have my absolute limits and I'm sure Kaleb has them too. You can't judge other people's actions in gray areas like this based on what makes you sin, because what might

  • @Stormleader42 sorry i rush in to my sentences i ll to slow down

it goes a lot deeper than sinning or others sinning its more in the spiritual term.

what you listen to ministers to your heart, not the words but what the artist have in their hearts, even if the song you like from them doesnt cuss or talk about sex or drugs etc.

i just read the lyrics to the song and it sounded a lot like a somebody liking a boys touch

and i dont see how you dont find that wrong

  • @joeylion8 Reading over the lyrics again it seems that she is saying how a certain person's touch makes her feel magical. While all gushy and smoochy, I don't really see anything morally wrong with it. Have you ever read Song of Solomon?

  • @Stormleader42 yes i have but did you read the guys part yet kayleb didnt cover the whole song he cut off some parts.

  • @joeylion8 make you sin may not make the other person sin. Granted, God says to not do actions in the presence of people that may cause them to sin, even if it is OK for you, but I think that this song is clean. If it had been a song talking about sex, drugs, etc then I would be with you, but it's not. I can't say that I personally like the song, I'm just not a fan of the genre in general, but I agree with Kaleb, it is good to branch off into styles other than what yoy normally play.

  • @Stormleader42 i didnt mean ask any questions for i under stand what you said again sorry for my grammer, yesterday and the day before i didnt sleep much for i went to see family and no lie i like only slept an hour and that was all chop up. so when i saw this video i was out of it and didnt really know what i said much, usually i listen and enjoy his playing but i was tired fusterated and hugery so sorry all who commented if i offened you with my comment(s) kayleb you rock and nice hair

  • @joeylion8 The grammar was no big deal, I just wanted to make sure I was understanding you correctly. :) And don't apologize for what you said, you really made me think on what I really believe and how better to explain it, so thank you. :)

  • @dwdrummer2112 got my respect bro

  • @dwdrummer2112 I don't see why you need to be sorry for covering this song. It's your choice and God gave you that freewill to decide.

  • @joeylion8 From my point of view, I am glad that he does some secular music because that is how I found out about him. And he has introduced me to some amazing bands and now alot of what I listen to is christian when all I used to listen to was people like Eminem and such. It would be like saying Christians can only hang out with Christians and no others. If that were how it was, than how could we spread the word of god?

  • @truthamedia i have friends that are not christians for i hope that i can lead them to christ and its not like saying that at all how is wordly music gonna bulid your love for christ or show that you live in gods way. i dont aprove of listening to worldly music because of what the artist miniester which is what is in their hearts and what is that sin.

  • @joeylion8 such as topics like this. But on the other side of the coin there are people that try to make everything a gray area, but there ARE some things set into stone, such as no killing, no adultery, no lying, etc. But you have to make a decision on whether or not something will cause you or others around you to sin or not. Preferably these decisions are made with advice from a Christian who is more mature in their faith, but sometimes you just have to make the decision on your own.

  • @joeylion8 Because Like i said before I NEVER listened to Chritian music. It was all bad swearing horrible stuff. and thats what I looked up when I found this guy. I forget what song it wasnt really that bad but Kaleb showed up on the results and I thought he was good so I listened to his other stuff and i heard the christian rock and now it is all I listen to. And it HAS brought me closer to christ. you need to speak to peole through all things. Kaleb does it through music. As do I

  • @joeylion8 did Jesus Christ only surround himself with his followers during his short time here on earth? no. he was with the "scum", the "outcasts", the thieves, the whores, etc. How can you expect to spread God's love to others if you never step out of your little "Christian" box?

  • @HEYitsSEFFER yes jesus was with sinners but he loved them and had the intent to save them but what does listening to worldly music spread the love of god thats our job to show gods love through our live and actions sure same taste in type of music i understand for you can suggest songs to them that can in the long road lead them to salvation. but liking a worldly band how?

  • @joeylion8 Do you only watch "Christian" movies? Do you only read "Christian" books? Do you only wear "Christian" clothing? I doubt it. In the same way, I don't only listen to Christian music. Why? Frankly, I love metal. But there is not a lot of Christian metal that is any good, a large portion of it just flat-out sucks. If I could find everything that I liked in a Christian band(s), then I would only listen to Christian music. But I can't, so I have to branch out.

  • @joeylion8 That being said though, I am VERY careful to what I listen to. It has to be clean, which for me means very little or no swearing, no sexual references, etc. A lot of non-Christian music has good messages as well. A great example is Metallica's "Master of Puppets", which talks about how drugs absolutely control you if you use them.

  • @joeylion8 i just think its ignorant to limit yourself to only "christian" bands. just because a band doesnt sing directly about God doesnt make them "of the devil". there are tons of bands with a positive message that arent "christian". does that mean i shouldnt listen to them? and how can you watch tv? with so few choices of "christian" programming i could imagine it would be hard to find something entertaining to watch. its views like this that turn people off from christianity.

  • @HEYitsSEFFER i agree man, i am a christian but i definantly dont just listen to christian music or any of that stuff and all those people that dont like christianity is because of people like that, i beleive everyone has the right to beleive what they want to and shouldnt have to deal with people trying to shove religon down their throat, and kaleb keep it up man your drumming is freaking amazing man

  • @joeylion8 i sorry man im gonna have to completely disagree with you by drumming to this song, he isn't doing anything wrong. IN FACT, by playing this a non christian might watch this video because of the song and then start watching the rest of kaleb's videos of christian songs and who knows!?! maybe he starts to enjoy christian music. Im not saying that this is going to happen overtime but im sure it will have an effect similar to that.

  • @joeylion8 Dude. Fuck You. Go away.

  • @joeylion8 Omg that is stupid. Stop with all of this God bullshit. Omg, you people are so dumb...

  • @joeylion8 excuse me sir.. "he who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone" n just in case u 4got... "Do not judge, or you too will be judged--matt 7:1"

    AWESOME COVER MAN!!! =D

  • @joeylion8 You are what turns people away from Christianity my friend. Good job being exactly like the self-righteous pharisees. Get a life.

    Good Job Kaleb, as always.

  • @joeylion8 oh my goodness! he played a katy perry song! lets call him a non-believer now! really? um no. im sorry @dwdrummer2112 your my like idol i love christian music but i listen to mainstream too. your great at drums and that guy kinda ticked me off. bye!

  • Okay I Am Getting recording equipment for my studio and was wondering how you went about doing your recording. from the mics to the comp? Like do you go straight from the mixer to your computer or do you use and external sound interface first?

  • Love this song!!!!!! Amazing cover :D!!!

  • Dude. You just made a popular song sound good. That's pretty amazing to me.

  • there is nothing like a DW

  • This is so good! ur really good and i love u!!!! <3

  • If pop music had real drums, and sounded this good, I might actually think about listening to it... =D

  • killer fill out of the bridge! nice work!

  • Regardless christian drummers turn out to be the best around alot of the time. Down with the music or not watch this guy you could learn something good job man keep em coming!

  • Insannnne.

  • Your drumsound is better with your four mics than loads od drummers on YouTube with overheads, double snare micing and what more... maybe you need to do a sound tutorial for us... and indeed you need to do Demon Hunter's Collapsing!!!

  • you match with ur kit dude lol

  • Hahaha Kaleb nice super zoom @2:14 to come up that "flip up" :D

  • You need to do collapsing by demon hunter

  • this is really awesome

  • Umm....you're really attractive hahaha xD Awesome covers, I really hope to be able to play like you someday ^^

  • yeah kaleb's back! :D awesome cover man!

  • yeah kalev

  • I thought u only did christian songs?

  • @Zildjian6333 the majority of the songs i do are Christian...i also do other songs as well...it's good to have a nice blend of styles in your repertoire as a drummer.

  • @dwdrummer2112 o ok just checkin cuz i was going through ur profile and it said i do christian songs so i thought that's all u done. lol my bad! :)

  • @dwdrummer2112 whats with all this crap talk!? man kaleb's doing what he loves, and PLAYING drums for th song doesnt mean he approves of th songs lyrics. God gives us talents and gives us th freedom for us to explore our talents. As long as in th end God gets th glory, (and damn yeah Kaleb's really an awesome drummer who drums for God, giving Him th glory) it doesn't really matter unless Kaleb himself says he approves of th song.

  • @dwdrummer2112

Hey Kaleb you may remember me from your previous video. Giving th "constructive criticism". Just lay off th comments and continue to do whatever you're doing man. As long as you're doing what you like, you don't make to drum to earn peoples respect.

  • Love this cover! and nice haircut!

  • bro extra good:) you taking requests?

  • I've really started to love this song after seeing so many people drum cover it.

  • I love the little squealer. mmmm

  • why is it that every snare you use sounds like a roto tom? It gets kinda annoying haha

  • Dude... do you know how AMAZING you are? Your covers are all phenomenal!!!!!

  • sexy hexy :D

  • my favorite song from Katy Perry

  • Are you using overhead mics at all?

  • what kit do you have?

  • @daltondwlp

    Check his Channel :)

  • omg ur kit sounds amazing lol i wish i had it

  • WHAT?!? I told you not to do this and show me up :)

  • @Drummer27565 haha man your cover was killer too bro! i just had a different interpretation...that's all!

  • @dwdrummer2112 Haha, whatever you say K-Diddy!!!

  • @dwdrummer2112 Awesome cover. What video editor do you use

  • @Drummer22k12 Adobe Premiere Pro from Creative Suite Production 5

  • nice cover man! not into katy perry but it was pretty sweet! lol. what drum heads do you use?

  • @15kutless22 on the toms i see remo pinstripe for batter side, the snare looks like a remo coated ambassador on the batter side, thats all i can tell from looking at it. maybe a remo hazy on the resonant side of the snare.

  • @mcohane9 thanks!

  • he reminds me of the drummer from nickleback

  • fucking amazing :) <3

  • nice cover and hair! haha, i'm also enjoying the simple set up too!:D

  • awesome
