  • You know that sensation you get when you watch something so meaningful and serious? Kind of like goosebumps? Well, i felt that throughout this whole video and i feel that these men and dogs deserve an amazing memorial that stands out and when people go to it, they realize how important and phenomenal what these men and dogs did. Amazing. I can't even describe it. This may be overdue but i still feel i need to say:

    Thank You

  • great video

  • so where is the actual link to watch this documentary on the net without some cable company raping me to view it ?

  • this documentary took place in Guam. thats where im from.

  • i watched it and it just show that dogs can feel more emotions than most people think

  • cant stop from crying....

please support SPCA Baghdad Pups and most of all Puppy Rescue Mission(in Facebook) because they are fast in getting these dogs to reunite with our soldiers FAST.

  • The saddest part was when the guys dog got shot that part just ruined my day it was so sad.

  • I'm a grown man and I almost cried.

  • i watched this documentry a couple of weeks ago. it is the best programme about war dogs ever.

  • your stupid , fuck you, dogs are more loyal and intuitive than any fucking person youll

    ever meet!!!!!

  • @82abnoff i highly doubt that a man who walked through the jungles of vietnam and returned alive would disrespect the courage and bravery exemplified by both man and animal. if you had truly seen the horrors of vietnam, you would have the utmost respect for these men, and you would not have a youtube account. a survivor of the vietnam was has no time for such petty things. therefore, you are a liar, and a shame to the united states. fuck you.

  • GD as much as id love to get a MOS with a dog, whatever that might be...i just couldnt do it. cause like the guy said "he stopped breathing...and i just went crazy...they shouldnt of killed my dog" it would be to hard to keep my chin up (for a lack of a much better phrase) if my partner, brother, gaurdian died.

  • Watched this, and the subsequent documentary (about the dogs found in Iraq) after that...and...and....

*sniff* I'm happy to be a dog lover

  • im from guam. my grandparents saw all the fighting that took place.

  • I finally saw the documentary last night and...I honestly wanted to cry so many times through out it. And I don't cry that easily. Very good....so many people shoudl see this

  • i saw the last 15 min of the last night, i started to get choked up near the end...very good documentary

  • i'm doing an informative speech in my public speaking class in college on this. I chose the topic of war dogs because I love dogs. I own a doberman and a schnauzer, who both helped in some ways. i also did it because my husband is in the military. not many people know about war dogs.. they are heroes too!!!

  • glad to finally see this documentary out there....My Dad is one of those men

  • @tdidrvr58 whos you dad?

  • The Military Channel says that they are showing this again Feb 7th (sadly at 4 am prolly east coast time)

  • I saw this on the military channel a while ago, and some of the stories about what happened were enough to make you cry. Like the one where the japanese dude shot that guys dog and he went beserk and started chasing the japs down.

  • wow, very powerful and informative video. Thanks, Zedsdead1968 for sharing.

Thank you for posting this video on War Dogs!

  • I've always wanted to see this show. I know what channel it comes on but I can never find the time T T. Does anyone where I can find it on the internet maybe?

  • awsome show

  • i went to watch this the other day but missed all the good bits lol i only saw the end when all the dogs were going home to their old owners

  • AMAZING TRULY AMAZING!

  • saw the tv show recently and like a lot of people who have posted on here it brought tears to my eyes the trust, love and repsect between man and dog just shows that dog is truely mans best friend

  • I watched this programme over a month ago in Military History Channel and it brought tears to my eyes. Its well worth watching. there is this one ex marine who lost his dog in the pacific theatre and he says after I lost my buddy I just went berserk...and i killed around japs single handedly....

  • "I just finished watching this, possibly the most touching documentary I've ever seen."

    Same here.

  • this touches me.. because i love dogs

  • Anybody know where i can watch this show on the internet? I've been trying to watch it but dont know where.

  • Dogs are the best... ;)

  • this was one of the most moving programs I've ever seen....they really are, man's best friend!!

  • I just finished watching this, possibly the most touching documentary I've ever seen. All those men having a story to tell, makes me wonder if I'll have any to tell when I'm older. And if I do, it could never compare to that, truely amazing.

  • Man's best friend what else can you say...

  • This was one of the greatest long overdue war documentaries I have ever seen these look to be some of this counties finest men we will never know and what them and their dogs did for America deserves a standing ovation, would love to see a memorial here in the United States

  • Do they get a dog after they make a 7 kill streak? hehe sorry I had to make a COD nerd remark. But I can't believe I missed this :( If only I had known of it earlier...

  • that was the wrong time to make a joke asshole

  • It wasn't a joke towards the soldiers nor their dogs. It was simply a joke to all the COD remarks everyone puts on every military-related video on Youtube. I respect those in service and the fallen very much!! They do and experience things that I would never wish upon anyone, and I'm sure the bond between man and dog is very beautiful in war. Sorry if I have offended you but the joke was not geared toward the men in these stories or their dogs.

  • its fine...i guess i overeacted i apologize also

  • It's all good. =D There was no disrespect anywhere really. I just really badly want to see this show, it looks so interesting!

  • hmm i wonder if chiuahuas were used their they would tackle the hell out of the enemys lol =P

  • it was sad about the guy that die and the dog would not let anyone near him

  • Watched this last night 5 stars is not enough and a medal does not cut it for these men and their dogs. People who say they are just dogs I would love to see them talk to these men and they people these animals saved. To the men and the dogs of the United States Military this documentary was long over due.

    Thank You

  • Michael Savage mentioned this movie on his show today.

  • Yea, that's how I heard about this.

  • An amazing documentory. I really enjoyed hearing the sucsess that came from these dogs. Let it never be forgotten what man and dog accomplished together.

  • I have feeling this will be an excellent show

  • Yeah Finally!!!!

  • I hope they show the Doberman Memorial in Guam....

  • i can't wait to see this!

  • After reading " A Soldiers Best Friend" by John Burnam, I am so excited to watch this show. I encourage everyone to read this book. Please support the National War Dog Monument effort. These K-9's deserve National recognition for saving countless lives during wars past an present. Not to mention the sacrifice of their own lives without hesitation. They are hero's and soldiers that should be honored and never forgotten.!!!!!

  • past, present, AND future!

  • Thats kind of a given.

  • This Commercial though brought goosbumps to me for some reason.

  • As a Current Marine K-9 Handler I can't wait for this show.

  • thats why cats sux and have no use at all

  • Thats what I say.

  • The reason they eat dogs and cats is because they think everything they eat has special magic properties, but this doesnt excuse the torture they put dogs and other animals through, my father always taught me that in this world unfortunately things had to die for you to eat and that was ok, but letting an animal suffer was wrong and a sin. the difference in american is that we stand up and decry acts of cruelty and violence, we dont just accept everything as "culture"

  • yea i think dogs and cats are awesome and should not be eaten they save lives but then if u treat them wrong they take

  • what the hell are you talking about lol

  • Comment removed

  • Well I like both just two different animals lucky for me I don't have to choose. You see these guys shooting dogs for fun on here wonder how long Michael Vick would last in a room full of these men who lost their dogs in combat

  • I like it

  • This will be a powerful documentary. If you like it, see my book: Buddies: Men, Dogs and World War II (MBI Publishing)

  • when someone defends asians for eating dogs- they should watch this documentary-- dogs have been with us for over a 100k years.. they have guarded our families and fought in our wars, herded our sheep, loved us, rescued us, committed the ultimate sacrifice for us. im not a religious man, but the bond between men and dogs should be praised and held sacred- to deny this bond, this relationship as those who would equate dogs with livestock; is malignant and damaging to our collective souls.

  • yerfedge

im not defending the dog eating but its a different culture u dont see asians talking shit bout how us Americans(im asian american) do things differently

so if u shudnt say that even if u rlly mean it becuz its a whole nother culture that u (probly) dont understand

  • i know that culture all too well..my wife is full blooded cantonese as my son is half blooded.. and ive been to their village.. i know my father in law has eaten dog.. and his reasons.. his defense for it is weak and he is mostly full of shit. they laugh about eating anything with its back to the sun.. i no from my wife all the horrors that go on in china.. like leaving baby girls to die in the street. for once id love to see or hear someone in asia stand up against the cruelty of their culture

  • but thats nother whole culture that has been established for centuries n if u want to say thats it cruel youtubes not gonna help

but again im not defending it im just say u cant criticize a another culture that U arent

this is also the reason y there can never be world peace becuz there are too many differences

  • You can certainly criticize another culture. It's called ethnocentrism and you can be ethnocentric and be right. For example, any culture which doesn't believe in equality between a man and a woman, they're wrong. Blame culture all you want, some things are wrong and that would be one. Although eating dog is a different story. We don't eat dogs in America because they are domesticated animals. We like to think of them as pets and not food, that's all. I'm not really for or against it.

  • Don't generalize please. Americans don't fight them for fun you retard.

There ARE Americans who do but there are also people from around the world and different countries that do as well.

Don't generalize a country for something so little people do.

  • who's ok with it.. ? a lot of americans stand up and support a variety of different causes.. americans.. are never ok with anything.. you cant paint us with a broad brush. no one has to criticize us. we are the first ones to criticize ourselves!

  • Well. it can sneak in the middle of his tent/barracks/fox hole, then bite his eyeball out.

  • i just got 7 kills, release the dogs. oh sorry thats call of duty

  • NO SHIT SHERLOCK,my god your powers of spotting sarcasm are incredible,I bet you work for the FBI or some other secret service as your observation skills are truly incredible.Bet it was your day off on 9/11 as you would have caught them so easy with your observation skills

  • battle cat on he-man kicked ass!!

  • I wish Military Channel came to Canada...

  • looking forward to watching it on the Military Channel

  • their the ones who fought for america u dummass comme

  • its because of you dick faces that the world is wat it is right now, u say veterans should just roll over and die, then i can suggest no better to come for you

  • dog rockzzzz

  • until now i never thought of dogs in war:(

  • I saw the same documentary about war dogs years ago. It was beautiful and moving, you never look at your own dog the same way again.

  • I AGREE

  • Dude that's awesome

  • war dogs are kick ass

  • sweet

  • i love dogs. yay!

What did cats do? Nutin. What did dogs do? Rescue people, fight for us, and help the blind. Dogs clearly > Cats, or cats is just a sissy pet.

  • THEY MADE A BRODWAY PLAY

  • tigers are technicially in the cat family(im not a cat lover just pointing out facts)

  • dogs rapes cats you noob cats are for pussys

  • wHAT?

Do you know that some catz are NInjas?

  • But cats eat soldiers' rations. You can't really work with them, because they're not as loyal.

  • who got timmy out of the well? lassie did, if lassie was a cat it would just stay at home not biting people and not peeing on the floor, hence, dogs > cats

  • but the cat was so cute

  • I agree with that!! I don't like cat, They do nothing and not loyal. Dog help human a lot of stuff,

  • I think cats can help in war............ the enemy will think that the cats will do something and waste their bullets on them.
