  • 7 people don't know what good music is

  • can't believe i was the last comment, goes to spread the word

  • i love the beginning to this, its surprising how the Japanese love them and they don't even know what they're saying

  • George was high during this show xD literally

  • pauls harmonies are fucking insane sometimes..especially when youre fucking high

  • @MrMojoRisin53 Like The Beach Boys were great and all but no one even comes close to The Beatles harmonies..theose 3 voices together make a whole new sound that no one had heard before or since..i know im stoned but those harmonies just dig into your brain hahaha

  • did he really say the F word?

  • omg i just thought: why the fuck did george and john have to fucking die if they could play one show live where i live i would fucking shit my pants literally then i would get a ticket i would do ANYTHING and i mean ANYTHING for a ticket to see all of th beatles again today. R.I.P. John and George!

  • Note how they always start to giggle around the "she's a big teaser"-part.

It's funny because the original lyrics was "she's a prick-teaser".

Watch any performance of it and you will see

  • Why did they slowed If I needed Someone so much?

  • 1:24 George is like, "Ringo, that was great wasn't it?" :D

  • ringo LOL

  • Comment removed

  • Ringo is.. and has been.. my favorite since I was 6.

  • For hidden messages in Beatles songs search Truth Contest, click on The Present, click on the Beatles section. Thumbs up on this comment.

  • 1:53, no sir....I don't like it

  • Ringo's mood is due to the fact that George's vocals are flat as a tack and the tempo is dragging.

  • OOOPS! 5:37,I think it's John who hits the wrong chord, he changes right away, and look at George smiling at him, Yes this is Live! Like seeing them at your local BAR! Probably what they sounded like at the Cavern. Not an easy song to play or sing live.

    Like 'Paperback Writer.

  • OOOPS! 5:37,I think it's John who hits the wrong chord, he changes right away, and look at George smiling at him, Yes this is Live! Like seeing them at your local BAR! Probably what they sounded like at the Cavern.

  • @KiranaForever

exactly, without the beatles mcquinn would have never bought a 12 string, without them the byrds wouldn't have went electric, also using gretsch and ludwig drums.

without george the jingle jangle wouldn't have conquered the world.

  • @OropherThranduil That's ture. I don't get why people say George ripped off The Byrds in this song when it was the other way round. George used the 360-12 ever since a Hard Day's Night (I'm Hppy Just to Dance With You, Any Time at All) and Jim McQuinn has admitted he bought his guitar AFTER he first saw that film.

  • @begbieboy

they say it because the riff to if i needed someone is lifted from the byrds bells of rhymney, george asked roger if he could use something similiar to it, roger was okay with it, but overall i think if i is better than bells of.

  • Note the Byrds influence on the song along with the Rickenbacker 12 string

  • 02:39 listen carefully, George tries to say if i fucking needed someone, he is my hero.

  • @sk8orfckindie Omg he really does rofl XD!!

  • interesting to see John giving his vocal support to george who seems reluctant to sing (may be due to tiredness)

  • 0:22 lmfao

  • very out of tune. Great songwriters but a live band they were not regardless of the screaming from the audience.

  • 1:55 aww poor Ringo

  • Paul Missed the cue to come in on daytripper vocals.

  • Comment removed

  • Excuse me.Will you do me a favor?

I'm Japanese, so I can't understand what Paul says completely.

Will somebody correct my dictation if it has wrong parts.

    "Thank you very much.Thank you.

    Uh Domo(Japanese salute)

    and hello,good evening and everythin'

and we'd like to do a song now

which is offered on the LP

this is song which is sung.. by .oh..

sung by guitarist George called If I needed someone"

  • @pickles2239 I put the corrections in big letters.

    "Thank you very much.Thank you.

    Uh Domo(Japanese salute)

    and hello,good evening and everythin'

and we'd like to do a song now

which is OFF ONE OF OUR LPS

this song IS SUNG BY oh..

sung by OUR guitarist George IT'S CALLED If I needed someone".

  • @beansterman1998

Thank you very much. You are of great help.

It's hard to find those who can dictate them precisely in Japan.

As a matter of fact, when this lost videotape was found,

it was broadcasted on TV sensationally. On a scene Paul

introduced George, the tlanslator must have mistaken

    "guitarist George" for "tallest George".

According to the subtitles, George was introduced

as "Long Tall George". So most Jpapanese understand

mistakingly Geroge is the tallest of four. It's funny.

  • hahahah look the fucking microphone is moving! hahah

  • @solessotess I think that that if you look then you'll see that the microphone is only moving because John accidentally stumbles over it, or more likely its cable. Microphone stands don't actually have a mobility all of their own.

  • @eggmangoogoogoojoob The adapter is the (usually black) part that, if not screwed on properly (or stripped out), will eventually loosen and rotate. I don't think any previous posters were so naive as to think that a mic stand could actually have it's "own mobility".

  • being a HUGE fan of george harrison, i've noticed that when george doesn't really want to sing the lead, he doesn't put much effort. listen to his slurring-ness. then watch Roll Over Beethoven... or something for the BAngla Desh concert...

  • Day Tripper. Oops

  • I really hate to say it, but Day Trupper sort of sounded bad...

  • @plaidpretzel so far I read about the concerts - they could hardly hear themselves, so most of the concerts are very bad...

  • Somebody's day-tripping...

  • not tooo mention the dam harmonys holy shise

  • hahaha fukin sick asssss rythym guitar hahah fukin lennon

  • What crappy microphones! LOL

  • wow, they did not want to be there at all. Still a great performance though!

  • @revengeguy I think it's more that they were very tired - it had been a gruelling tour, particularly the Philippines leg - rather than they didn't want to be there. They were consummate professionals, after all.

  • @eggmangoogoogoojoob wasnt the Phillipines leg of the tour when they annoyed the dictator there and thought they were going to be killed?

  • @revengeguy Yes, Imelda Marcos (the wife of President Marcos) wanted The Beatles to grant her and the President a private audience, but The Beatles refused. The truth was that the band were just exhausted, but Imelda Marcos took it as a snub and the people of the Philippines were mightily offended as a result, to the point that The Beatles actually began to fear for their lives. Hardly surprisingly, they gave up touring altogether shortly afterwards!

  • @eggmangoogoogoojoob actually i think they weren't ever told that she wanted to meet them they didnt refuse

  • Ringo's microphone falling at 2:02

  • what happened georgeeee¡¡¡¡ jajajajaj

  • the beatles.dijeron who was one of the worst performances that icieron, by the way it was in precarious place

  • @beatles4everis Si, es verdad! Pero I enjoy it!

  • George sounds like a freaking reatard here... I LOVE IT!

  • George was kind of out of tune, Ringo's face LOL (I think he was sick right? :S) also Paul and John's mic is everywhere but where it should be....what a concert...one of my favorites by the way ;)

  • @lrita That is so true, I love Ringo's face. I think he's just glad that he's in the back just playing drums and doesn't have to sing.

  • @lrita he wasnt out of tune at if i needed someone, but yeah, what a concert :)

  • Wow they must have been REALLY tired and ringo looks so distressed and everyone is struggling w/ da mics poor them

  • geo let one slip!

  • i read tht in japan the crowd was so quiet because they wasnt suppose to be loud like shea stadium and had to stay seated the hole performance<------(true story)

  • Ringo's face expression was funny . LOL

  • Ringo in much happier times.

  • poor ringo,he looks sad :(

  • Ringo looks like he has tooth ache

  • they look fucking burned out

  • @Lightningchair1997 Jet lag ?

  • @2012Grizz Would Pissed be the correct word?

  • @revnmalak Not exactly

  • Ringo looks really sad, bored, worn out, etc

  • @2012Grizz Agreed!

  • George doesn't swear at all (at 2.40)as stated by someone...he just added the word "ever" and thew his timing.out. so he just mutters and tries to get back on track.

They all look tired except perhaps Paul who was the eternal "show must go on" proffesional...the fact that the pa was awful and they can't hear themselves would not help.

  • @gal00li of course he wouldn't admit to it. he said "fucking" mate. cheers

  • BEATLES FOREVER!!!!!! During this performance in Japan the audience sure knows how to cheer so lightly unlike the ones in Shea stadium the year before that when they drowned the music with a huge screaming sound. much louder than a recent pop concert by such superstars like Bon Jovi & Lady Gaga. The Beatles are a true tour-de-force of rock music.

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • aww.... ringos sad...... :/ but they all seem so tired!! makes me tired ^_^

  • Paul esta a full, George esta como re cansado.. John normal nomas y Ringo parece que se re pudrio ajajaja

  • The reason Ringo is about to cry at 1:52 is because, think about it. Ringo and George were the "lesser beatles",they didn't get much attention like Paul and John.Ringo seeing George get a moment in the spotlight made him feel like nobody cared about him.

  • @TheRobertHP

    nooooooooooooooo.

Ringo never got into the ego shit.

this concert just sucked by performing standards, he just couldn't enjy those concerts anymore.

  • @TheRobertHP Or porbably because they were all seriously wiped out. Ringo just probably showed it the most lol

  • John plays the wrong chord at 5:35

  • yeah ringo knows somethings wrong thats why. they still seem to be enjoying themselves in places. this isn't a great show thats all.

  • Was George Tired?

  • Poor Ringo....It didn't look like he got much apreciation for what he does...He looks sad :(

  • @TheMrBenny123 Yeah thats sad :( .. But well he's my favorite beatle :)

  • @xXladedia Thats good :)

  • lol they sucked at the live shows that time because they couldn't hear thems selves over the screamings, they said it their self... i love you beatles ! rip john and george, or as ringo said- and the song will play on without you, and this world wont forget about you, every part of ou was in your song, now we will carry on, never without you...

  • @gili1484 that was because they toured long before there were monitors and sound mixers...it was the worst at the shea concert

  • rip george

  • They'd probably have made much better performances if they had cared to and weren't loaded all the time.

  • domo! Great stuff

  • wtf is wrong with the microphones,, gearge's mic keeps moving,, & look at ringo @ 2:01 it starts to move down hahaha.

  • @jecjerich haha ! :)

  • A little Hashish on that one maybe.

  • Comment removed

  • stoned as....but fab!!

  • os mics nunca ficavam no lugar, o george tava doidão e o ringo tava triste, com raiva, estressado e cansado.

  • George looks lost... maybe a little high XD

  • prob stoned as shit too

  • sad ringo is sad

  • noooo que drogado que estaba george jajaja

  • my friend send me the ripped mp3 of this and told me this is a beatles cover band. i thought they are horrible and now im shocked to discover its the actual beatles.

  • They're the coolest four people ever without a doubt

  • @C130wannabepilot And the Ramones

  • @C130wannabepilot What about Elvis? Wasn't he 'cool'? Wasn't Jimi Hendrix 'cool'?

  • wonder wat was with ringo

  • @jovamer2456 in the anthology, all of them, especially ringo, were getting "fed up" performing live because of all the screaming and their "crappy musicianship during the live shows." that's why ringo looked pissed.

  • Of all their performances to be recorded it had to to be one when the mics are fucked up.

  • @itsglen9646

there are more, i have 11 complete performances on dvd, but it's a fucking drag to find them.

the most well known are the budokans here and shea.

  • Jeorge is Gesus. Figure that one out.

  • Im gonna try to do all my best to bring these kinds of music back. Right now i'm writing music kind of like this because the beatles inspired me! Maybe in some weeks i'll have some music ready! BTW i'm only 14, Peace and Love!

  • This whole concert was a struggle for them and definitely an indicator to them that the recording studio was the only sensible cure to the limits that a live performance provided. They were playing like shit here and they knew it.

  • @MrUnderdog1970 They were not playing like "shit" it's just that the microphones were messed :/

  • @MelRules911 I think all of them admitted that they weren't playing great at the time, plus the mics...plus the fact that they couldnt hear themselves play or sing over the screaming.

  • @comanchio1976 what screaming? R u watching the same vid as i am? Sure they couldn't hear themselves at a large venue like Shea Stadium....but this is not the case here.

  • @rugbyoholic Just because the mic's used for the recording are picking up the singing and playing way more than the screaming, doesnt mean that the Beatles could hear themselves.I cant find it on here, but I'm pretty sure Harrison cited this tour as well as others(not just Shea),on speaking about not being able to hear themselves play.McCartney even said he was getting sick of touring because of the screaming. If I find the relevant anthology clips I'll post the links.

  • @rugbyoholic Couldnt find any specifically about the Boudokan, but found these watch?v=wdY2R8bcPtU&feature=related @ 0:17 and 4:29

    watch?v=q6xAgj6qw0A&feature=related @ 0:50

  • Awwww poor Ringo he didn't look too happy :( I am sure it was George there who was trying to cheer him up :)

  • @MelRules911 he wasn't happy because all his buddy's were partying at the front of the stage and he was at the back. and Paul was cute because... well thats just him :D ;)

  • @1Beatlesfreak1 Ringo is Cuter than Paul now face it >:)

  • @MelRules911 actually Paul was cuter thats why he was called "the cute one" now you face it >:)

  • @1Beatlesfreak1 Face it even Hannah. K says Ringo is cute >:) And she never said Paul was! Bahahahaha >:)

  • @MelRules911 actually she did say he was cute because its true you can't deny it

  • @1Beatlesfreak1 I don't care my opinion Ringo is cuter

  • @fopstra: Ringo is more tired, than depressed. It was their final (world) tour, organized by Brian Epstein, they were already before against touring (following fear of "More popular than Jesus incident"), but agreed. As you know, this tour was ceased after San Francisco concert. It is rumored that George, who was most anxious, said in plane after that: "I am not the Beatle anymore!"

  • they look like they are dying or something D: at least the girls didn't screamed a lot on japan

  • Ringo looks like he needs an antacid during Day Tripper.

  • There was something different about George's songs, another quality, a good one.

  • LOL... damn microphones

  • wow those mics suck, and they kept movie around and need adjustment. They looked and sounded tired, still gave it their all.

  • George does sound WIPED! Now you know why George himself was the first to suggest the Beatles stop touring-as early as 1964 no less. It IS an uninspired vocal performance of a really good song.

  • damn those fucking mics suck...i feel so bad for em :[

  • they're not on drugs- they were tired form touring so much. they just ran from place to aplce trying to avoid crowds then travelled cheaply no thanks to their tour mananger who was too cheap to get decent transportation. they had way too many concerts without a day inbetween them even. Of course thy're tured and frustrated wiht screaming crowds and nobody listening and no freedom

  • lol did anyone notice how ringo's mic stand moves around at a part of the show?

  • George has a cool accent- love him and all the Beatles!

  • Beatles are the best band ever! if you can't be nice don't say anything- listen and enjoy or don't listen and suffer silently at missing hearing and understanding the best most meaningful music ever!

  • I'm pretty sure they're all a little stoned in this haha. George is still amazing though <3 as are they all :) Other than being stoned, I think they were pretty exhausted from writing, recording, traveling, touring, etc. This was the year they stopped touring and I think in this performance it's pretty obvious why. Poor guys had so much to do and were so worn out :(

  • sabotaGe!!!!

  • George muttering "If I fucking needed someone..." at 2:40...

  • @paviglianiti True! George actualy did say that. lol.

  • @paviglianiti I thinkit was "if I ever needed someone"

  • @paviglianiti:

    woah youre right!

  • @paviglianiti i wouldnt expect that from george at all.

  • @paviglianiti lol you are right, he actually says that

  • @paviglianiti

george is smooth slidding in that "if i fucking needed someone" loved it

  • @paviglianiti naughty goerge , naughty

  • @paviglianiti Wow, he really did.

  • Both songs were too new for their 1965 U.S. tour (the one which included the famous Shea Stadium concert). "Paperback Writer" was the newest song the Beatles ever did in their touring, which would end by end of Aug. 1966.

  • @carlmoore19 omg its true!!! george is cool <3

  • Ringo looks tired =| that's all.

  • or maybe they were all just pissed off at their crappy mics =)

  • WTF? George forgot what to say at 2:40

  • they all look extremely energetic and excited, especially ringo

  • 3:52 aww Ringo smiled a little bit at 3:52

  • Harrison only got to sing two songs per concert and when he got to sing the ONLY one he wrote from the song lineup, he plays and sings like he doesn't give a crap.

  • @ZackTheGopher They were all extremely exhausted with constant touring and keeping with the schedule at the time, so it's no wonder he was a bit out of shape.

Please remember - they were recording 2 albums a year and did numerous concerts around the world since 1964.

  • this song was a single over here. i think. maybe. oi ah haa! may kayi a

  • its a powerful song.. and Ringo could of been having a bad day.. Give the guy a break,, Ringo rocks.... Or was he upset with Faul -Paul..hehe lol

  • For the people who say they dis-like this, then why the hell do you even, A. search for the Beatles, and Or B. Come here to just hate, They STILL are rock gods!! No one can top them!!!!

  • ringo's probably like "aw crud i never get to do harmonies" hahahaaha

  • I don't know why Ringo was so unhappy. They have performed If I Needed Someone incredibly great. (I think so)

  • they all have the long sideburns! but! ringo has the longest sideburns of all!

  • love this song...

  • check out 2:36-2:39, I think the mic likes John better than Paul.

  • @ben011235813 Hahaha or John is attracting more than girls.

  • what shitty fucking mics they could have made them proper for the best fucking band on earth

  • This is great song

  • hahahahaha.....grumpy Ringo 1:52....LMAO

  • Good to see/hear "If I Needed Someone," an excellent George song, with superb harmonies and haunting leitmotiv.

  • Correction........."Mic"

  • 0:20 Paul getting shocked and 2:30 Lennon fighting a spinning Mike..lol!

  • They were quite obviously jet lagged, the bands started to pop pills to enable them to keep awake while keeping to exhaustive touring schedules.

When you look back at those times it was criminal what we expected from our top entertainers.

The Beatles as a collective were true legends, as were the men behind them, George Martin and Brian Epstein.

Thanks for the memories and stacks of really great popular music.

  • The Vox amps were so underpowered there was no way that they would hear themselves singing. I saw them at The Odeon Leeds, We were stood on the seats of the front row, we couldn't hear them above the noise of the screaming girls and the speakers were pointing straight towards us. On this recording the tape recorders would have been connected to the amps, hence you can hear them singing, but they wouldn't hear what you can hear. The Beatles worked very hard and were the best band in the world.

  • one of the best beatles song ever :)

  • It's not the worst, it's not even bad.

  • This is the worst concert of The Beatles.

    But there's no really sabotage.

The mics we're not adjusted, so they struggle so many times.

The sound was recorded apart of the video, so there's the low tune.

Also The Beatles we're tired after 4 years of virtually-non-stopping touring, making records, going to tv shows, etc.

  • If you note, George confuse lyrics around 2:40-2:41-2:42 in If I Needed Someone.

On Day Tripper, the whole song John's voice is tired, and worst, the chorus in the middle eight doesn't get well from all the three, and Paul screams then John in a failed attempt to make crowd cheer and cover sound.

Even that, i think some songs, barely survived well such as She's A Woman.

The Beatles. Best band forever. But this prove that nobody is perfect. Neither them.

  • :0 Look at Poor Ringo D: hes all like "i want to go to bed x.x" LAWL :3

    god i Luv The Beatles SOOO Much ^ ~ ^ /
