Interesting comments re. Hyundai in this thread. There are still plenty on the roads here from 10yrs ago now and NO warranty will be void provided Genuine Hyundai parts are used by a VAT registered service company. They (along with Kia are the fastest growing car co) won't go bankrupt - Ford or GM are more likely to. I prefer the Focus, but my head would tell me to buy the Hyundai. I digress - I'll keep buying BMW or Mercedes. But Mercedes aren't even all built in Germany anymore, are they??
Back to the i20 and Focus, simple choice: If you enjoy cars, and wish to enjoy, buy the Ford. Just expect more bills. If you view cars a bit like an appliance, then buy the Hyundai. Skoda are also doing far, far better than Ford in the customer satisfaction surveys. Just look at Which? or JD Power owner surveys. Personally, I'll never buy anything French, Ford or Vauxhall again.
As of my opinion, and a car sales man called simon ( very nice guy) the Hyundais have problems, that have been overlooked.
He strongly recommends the Focus,3-Series,C-Class,C4 and maybe the Fiesta.
He and me have around 25 years of experience, he could be wrong and its your choice, but however sit in a focus & drive it also, then get in any of the same catergory Hyundai, and you will instantly realise the Hyundai brand still are far from The standard Par.
Hi mine has already done around 135,000 miles and apart from a break fluid leak and the usual oil/filter change it runs perfectly.Very reliable, never let me down, the opposite of my mate`s beautiful Beemer:)
Oddly enough I used to have a ZX 1.9D (non-turbo) also. Got it in 1993 and it was a very good car for its time. Went well and looked good in 3-door trim.
The days when Citroen knew how to make cars with great handling and a superb ride. Not like the C4 rubbish I had the misfortune to own. Looking for the Bryan Brown Xantia Estate commercial - would be good if someone could post.
Citroen definately doesn't want to show this car from rear side :)

what car would you suggest instead then?
fattygirlyslimmy 2 years ago
Well, im guessing your are looking for a small car?
So the best small car at the moment is the Ford Focus & BMW 3-series(basic).
I have driven the new fleet of hyundai including the i10 & i20 compared to second hand focus money they are a rip-off.
You could get a year old focus for around 8-12k depending on mileage, condition etc.
But please do not make the mistake and buy the hyundai product.
Trust me it wont last, like a ford or BMW would.
You could consider a older C-class?

To add to this, when Hyundai go bust you will loose your 5 guarantee.
Also if you get a hyundai serviced at a normal garage you will loose the 5 year guarantee instantly.
Also The build quality is not that bad, but will start sqeaking after 10k, like many of the demo cars at the Hyundai garage i work at.

does anyone want to give me a zx for free??
vjreenox 2 years ago
haha very odd seeing this, can't imagine my old zx as a 'new' car lol
fortunately it's being scrapped in for a new hyundai next month! no more clunky gear changes and loose handbrakes :)

Yeh with your *new* Hyundai, expect rotten frame bad steering & slow uncomfortable traveling in your Korean shitbox.

Hyundai are Korean shitboxes.
Dont buy one! in 10 years from now there will be barely any Hyundais on the roads, Dont you stupid British idiots learn anything?
