This is one if not the best review of this pedal I've seen on YouTube. It show cases this pedals tone, and come, it's a review, it's berthed if u just play the same thing, so we can see what all the different settings sound like. Very nice job
I made a little demo with the OS-2 to a preamp and directly to soundcard. Check it out if you want to hear how this pedal sounds in a home recording environment.
I have got a amp but I dont really want to use this for my guitar so will it work if I plug a microphone in? (And obv use the amp) and also do the cabes come with it?
this is a great pedal, i can get a green day sound with the colour between 8-12 o clock, and a nirvana sound 3 o clock onwards, pretty much any sound can be achieved with this if you are willing to spend some time messing with it
@aptematik you my friend managed to get quite close using this pedal, but either the Metalzone or the Mega distortion (can't remember which) is better for that kind of stuff
@aptematik Oh heavens no. This doesn't have enough gain nor EQ for Kill em All through Death Magnetic. I would suggest an MXR Fullbore Metal, Electro Harmonix Metal Muff, or Boss MT-2 Distortion.
@zabimaru1000 I'm not sure if you saw and if so I'm sorry but there is actually a GE-7 on in this video two, his raw sound already was very mid/high end, it may not be completely representative, but then again, if you are a heavier player then you'd be better off going for a neat distortion pedal anyway rather than a mix, I personally quite like the versatility and will be getting one =). Good luck with the search matey!
@Jack1685 Fair point, but I'd like to make 2 equally fair points, first, where in the video title does it say "demo of my amazing talent"? Since it doesn't say that (as far as I can see) I don't see at all why "someone had to say it", I came here because I wanted to hear the pedal and did, why are you here?
Second, everyone has to start somewhere and what's wrong with investing money in something you intend to stick at?
heyllo, just wondering how the bottom end of the pedal works out, cuz i tried out the sd-1 pedal thinking it was pretty cool, but it had No bottom end whatsoever, like, bland, but im just wondering how that is on this pedal, im kinda looking into this or the bd-2, i play kinda grungey alternative music, real bass heavy any suggestions

keep in mind that he is not messing very much with the other knobs. Adjusting the tone and drive will usually give you what you want. I've gigged once with this and it gave me what I needed. It's a nice versatile pedal.
Neither. I would go with the MXR Distortion III (or Classic Distortion, same thing). Check out my Classic Distortion video. They are real cheap at guitar center.
WOW, this pedal is amazing!!! It actually sounds like Eddie Vedder is playing that riff....only if Eddie had two dildos stuck up his ass and he was retarded and on his death bed... dude learn to play the guitar LOLOLOLOL :)
Harmonics are always fairly dependent on the guitar, but I have noticed that harmonics do become more apparent with this particular pedal at certain settings.
the only good pedal by digitech and it is really good is the whammy... other than that I wouldn't trust digitech... maybe the delay, it has some nice modes like reverse and is a little cheaper than a boss, but again, I have a DD3... boss still wins =)
exactly... not every pedal is great... I forgot to mention that I also like the bad monkey... specially on bass... sounds pretty good... but digitech isn't really good... I prefer Boss, MXR, fulltone and electroharmonix... digitech just doesn't cut it for me
if you are sopeaking from a bass player's perspective then no wonder you dont like digitech. i think they make great pedals... buyt i also prefer ehx and boss. the hardwire metal from digitech is probably the best sounding distortion i've ever played in my life hands down. and the digidelay is pretty great too. the majority of my pedals are ehx or boss, but i can't knock digitech. i've been playing for 20 years, so i'm no novice & i've never had a problem with a digitech pedal or processor.
I never said I'm a bass payer, I tried the bad monkey on bass once and it works fine as a bass overdrive and for guitar it sounds pretty good too.. but still I like very few digitechs jaja... I bet that the digital units they released some time ago were really good but modern multieffects and analogues don't really have the same sound quality as a boss does
@rodrigozamo The stompboxes of digitech are DIGITAL, they are just "digital size stompboxes" i dont know about the new hardwire series if they are analog or not but the other series are based on a digital chip board, i will not say if they are good or bad, some people like them some not, i like the reverb and delays (but if we look a company like boss their reverbs and delays are digital too) its a matter of taste remember, tone is subjective! and thats the reason of a lot of products out there
Is this pedal good for boost?I'm not planning to buy this mainly for boost,im just asking in case i need to boost my tube amp with this instead of my eq..so what do you think?
if only this pedal had an OD and dist channel that you can toggle with a separate footswitch

MrJamessmithmusic 4 months ago
Honestly, I don't like your demo man. Here some constructive criticism:
1) Tune your guitar (very important!).
2) Don't use PA. Buy a decent guitar amp.
3) Get a good microphone.
4) Play different songs/chords/riffs with true different settings.
I hope they help you. Cheers!

@bizarrefruit I admit, on the clean channel. You would get a nice AC/DC sound out of it. And a good blues solo on a slightly dirty channel.

To compensate for the thin bass on the OD side, I just put the tone knob at about 10 or 11 o'clock. Seems to do the trick.

the od section has extremely thin bass, but as you ramp up the color knob, more bass happens.

Yeah, you can get a lot of boost by using the Level knob.
azb24 2 years ago
and is it true bypass or does it ignore the amp?

don't buy a boss pedal if you want true bypass...fulltone full drive is your best bet for an overdrive that can do everything and has true bypass
