@blackoaksue1995 yes he did. he wrote it for his (now late) brother danny when danny had cancer and danny told him a story about how when he was in the hospital he saw angels by his bed

My brother was in Viet Nam and did not do well after he got home. He did of cancer and he wanted this played at his service.

My mother has Alzheimer's disease. During her early stages of the disease, she would become fearful at night and go around singing this song. Today mom is more advanced to the point she can no longer carry on a conversation, but the music has not left her. So now I pray the Lord will send His angels to watch over our precious Momma when the night time comes.

Sherri has been such a blessing to me for many years now. I first was blessed by her with the song "Praise His Name". That song alone got me through being homeless. I made me more aware that there is always a reason and that I need to Praise His Name no matter what I am going through because it is really going to be OK. Again with my own bout with cancer! we were at their homecoming concert at sacramento. we had a truly worshipful time. the concert lasted for 4 hours... not a dull moment... it was a blessing!!!

What a wonderful oppurtunity to be even at least once with these congregation with angelic voices and a worshipful atmosphere. I saw these once back in the early 90's so I don't even know the names of the singers. One was a certain old man with the family name Sumner. A truly blessing for the Christian audience of YOUTUBE. Danny Gaither, Bill Gaither's now late brother suffered from cancer for many years. Danny says he heard people talk of seeing angels and recieving a healing for so long and he longed for that to happen to him. One night in the hospital he couldn't sleep. So he prayed a prayer that his mom taught them when they were little. Five little angels around my bed. one at the foot, one at the head. one to watch and one to pray and one to take my sins away. Then he looked above him and he could see angels

and that night he slept better than he had slept in years. When he told Bill the story Bill remembered a verse in the bible that the Lord said he'll send his angels to watch over you and protect you and then Bill and Gloria wrote the song "Lord Send Your Angels"
