  • Message to amsp83: At this point in time we have over 70 percent of NFL teams, 55% of NBA teams and over 70% of major Division 1 Universities using Vertimax V8 systems. That's quite a few pretty good strength coaches to fool on a gimmick don't you think? Can you tell me where you have trained on a V8 system before? I'm curious because most people that make comments such as these have never stepped foot on or off a V8 system before and are thus completely unqualified to make such a comment.

  • I'll bet they used to static stretch in warm up too? That was wrong. The aim here is to improve speed by increasing concentric muscle force. This is simply too slow a way of producing force to produce the best max vel results so you end up with is a long ground contact time. Sprints coaches nowadays (ones that keep up with research at least...) realize the body generates much greater forces much more quickly through reflex actions. This May help accel, but not max velocity.

  • Expensive gimmick. Read Bosch instead.

  • Like i can afford one of this, HA!

  • .....Furthermore, trying to improve vertical with rubber bands which provide resistence at the end of the motion is just crazy. All power potential is at bottom of motion when muscles are in extension. Do depth jumps from 24- 36 inches depending on age and size, and land in a good squat position with hips back. And only do 3 reps per set. with plenty of rest between sets. Don't do them too often because they're more intense than you think.

  • @shc1818 I Agree with everything you said relative to the major drawbacks training with conventional elastic bands! Only issue I have is that the V8 system was designed to eliminate virtually every issue you have with elastic band training. Bands never go slack on a V8 - Athlete is fully loaded in the squatted position for vertical training and hip flexors fully loaded when explosive movement is initiated. Type in "Best power and speed training workout" in Youtube and watch that video.

  • .....Furthermore, there certainly are exercises that train the "pull" part of a sprint which would be hip flexion. One simple one is situps, like real sit-ups, not crunches, like the kind T.O. did in his front yard in front of the cameras. This exercise is more for the psoas muscles than rectus abdominis, and the Psoas pull your knee up to your chest, which is the "pull" they mention. In a situp you're pulling your chest to your knees....Same motion, same muscles, just in reverse. Furthermore

  • Rubber bands suck for any kind of training. Extremely minimal with any benefit. See, a rubber band only provides resistence at the end of the stretch so that would be the top of a motion. 90 percent of any muscle's power potential is in the beginning of the motion when the muscle is in extension and when the stretch shortening cycle and stretch reflex happens. Thats where strength and power is developed, not at the end of the motion when a band is stretched. Furthermore......

  • Sounds like very good info. Well put.

  • does this affect the normal height growth of a children?

  • I got attacked by a dog while I was using one of those & I couldn't get away, the only reason I'm alive today is cause he just wanted sex

  • @phantomofthedrivein hahahaha

  • @iflyboats what the fuck are you talking about my man? Just shut the fuck up faggot. You ain't know a shit. So... the vertimax of course improves your explosivenes, that's why it's called VERTImax. It increases your vertical. It's for athletes who want to improve theirselves. We guys from ATTACK Athletics got one too. It really is a good training.

  • For the most updated videos, please visit our new channel at "VertiMaxVideos"

  • It cost about 2800 and it's not a gimmic lol It's a serious workout...

  • omg i want that

  • would this help me from pulling my hip flexors when i run hard? im the fastest kid in the school i run a 4.4 in a 40 and when i run my hardest i pull them..it gets really annoying. is there anyway this tool could help me gaion strength in them muscles to not pull them anymore

  • @TheAtvrider10 this is probably way to expensive for you personally, but if you have problems with your hip flexors you should probably warm up with resistance bands around your ankles. do side steps, monster walks, etc. it is great for the hips.

  • Iflyboats..... you need to try this if you are a non believer. This system works and works well.

  • Very Nice how much?

  • what if it snaps

  • @detroittigersandtaco it...BREAKS!

  • The Vertimax is a good tool, but I have a feeling it will become the "next big thing" because naive people will buy into anything without doing their own research. Kettlebells, Dumbbells, Barbells, Bands, Chains, Bodyweight...all of those have gone through phases where people believe each is the best and everything else is junk. If something works, USE IT. The key is to improve performance on the court or field, not argue about meaningless specifics.

  • wow that is great

  • I just imagin how many people is needed to caree this unit :) ? I think is pain in the ass to do that every training.

  • i have it and its just 1

  • This is not a bad machine. It's great for teaching triple extension with your athletes and can really help you be more explosive through your hips which is one of the keys to generating force into the ground. I've trained on it some, though it definitely has not been my primary training source. Check out my videos.

  • News flash guys, every stupid training gimmick on the market has testamonials. Running speed is the dependent the amount of force applied to the ground during stance phase, not the length of time it takes to move your leg through space during the swing phase. All humans have similar limb speed. The difference is how much force they apply to the ground. which determines stride length and ground contact time. this device is pure SHIT and the guy promoting it knows nothing- "thigh flexion" LMFAO

  • another way to increase speed is by sprinting in place. you know how they say jog in place to get warmed up? well sprint in place so you can get your muscles used to moving that fast.

  • The pull phase does determine speed. The guys you see who look like their going at 100 mph but aren't that fast have strong hip flexors. You have combine drive and pull phase.

It is true that the drive phase is more effective in running speed than the pull phase. But the pull still counts for something.

  • THIS IS ONLY GOOD FOR VERTICAL JUMP INCRASE AND AGILITY AND DECELERATION not speed training though first of all its called the swing phase and this will not improve the swing phase

  • ive been using this for 8 weeks. I went from a 5.6 to a 5.1

  • u shrunk?

  • 40 time dumbass

  • My son just competed in U100 West in LA and trained on the vertimax prior to the event. He increased all his stats from his qualifying stats at the nationalunderclassmen combine in Arizona.

Vert went from 25.5" to 31"

Broad jump from 8'4" to 8'7"

    T shuttle from 4.99 to a 4.56

I will not say this is all attributed to the vertimax but its good piece of equipment.

You can buy a Power Sprinter (see my video) and do most movements for less money and its mobile.

  • how would this not improve the power of your hip flexion???? when trying to improve velocity you cant overload the muscle with traditional strength training. you must use only light resistance that allows you to maintain speed without sacrificing technique.

  • Most of you have no idea what you're talking about...They don't really expect a single individual to buy it for themselves, this is meant for a gym or a team. If that many NFL teams use it, can you even consider this a gimmick?

  • this is ass why would i focus on getting this shit.its prolly like 2000 dollars

  • vertimax is the shizz

vert went from 24 to 36

    8 months

  • The swing phase, or what this idiot erroneously calls the "pull phase," is not even produced by muscular contraction, but instead by elastic recoil. All humans move their legs through space at the same speed. This ridiculous device will do literally nothing to improve swing phase speed.

  • agreed. the only benefit I see is the multi direction movements with the resistance is ok . To many people depend on gimmicks rather than hard, smart training.

  • ah but my friend did this and went from a 5.3 40 to a 4.4 40 in 6 months.

  • idiot

  • "All humans move their legs through space at the same speed." Honestly if all humans moved their legs through air at the same speed than all people would thrust kick just as hard as their foot was. this is not the case. just look at those asians that know karate they kick faster and harder because their legs move through the air faster.

  • you are retarded....

please dont listen to this douche bag. Training your body's elasticity, or reactivity and stiffness as it is scientifically known, is important and does contribute a great deal to speed, but the hip flexors do pull your leg forward, so having strong and explosive hip flexion will increase your stride rate

  • This shit is an absolute scam, whoever made this knows literally less than nothing about sprinting. Please don't buy this crap!!!

  • your retarded

  • OK go ahead and waste your mom's money on the fucking thing then :D

  • im not arguing with you but dont sit here and tell me its not effective if D-1 and pro teams are using it.

  • The facts of reality are not determined by D1 and pro teams. Elite atheltes are genetically gifted, their ability does not come from training gimmicks like this.

  • u dont need all this crap 4 speed!!!just book a trip 2 jamaica

  • LOL that made my day thank you.

  • there 2000$ i got one, its amasing

  • how much do these things go for?

  • where do u get this eqipment from

  • try goin to the website?
