  • 0:49 to skip the talking... this is only for people who have rewatched this so many times that they could almost recite what he says in the beginning!

  • my version

  • Can somebody tell me that this prelude&Fugue should play staccato or legato?

I listened many recording and they play 2 ways.I've to play this piece for my recital and now I'm practicing in legato.

  • @iPianistYN A lot of people will have "answers" for you. In my opinion there is no absolute answer. Do what sounds best for you. Many pianist think there is "ONE" way to play each of the composer to "respect" their authenticity. I disagree, piano didnt exist at the time of bach and many other direction may be taken. Enjoy and try to respect yourself in your decision making toward the practice of a piece.

  • I like what he said about the colours :)

    And this prelude, of course

  • Wonderful!!!!

  • I've been a Demidenko fan since his Medtner recordings but had no idea this film existed. A true gem of a discovery for me so thank you for posting these. Said that, I must agree with ImaGhoti. Too many shots and too many cuts. Mr or Ms Filmmaker, please calm down! Otherwise, they're beautifully shot and beautifully played!

  • i love this prelude so much!!! and i love Mr Demidenko's interpretation too!!!!

  • me too :)

  • I didn't know this pianist until I found this video. I love his interpretation of this prelude and fugue.

  • Why won't the camera man just stay still!!!

These are WONDERFUL recordings of the WTC but the videos are spoilt by the overenthusiastic camera work.

  • I believe that the camera men DID stay still. It's the director of this video who switched from one camera to another way too often. Geez, I am dizzy after watching it. But the music is really beautiful.

  • This is my favorite WTC work -- fond memories of my first recital at the university where I studied music as an undergraduate. I love his articulation and the gracefulness in the prelude (perhaps not in the last two measures). The fugue was performed beautifully.

  • love the fugue, one of my favorite
