alrite mate i was only sayin lol, marc bolans voice is more suited to this song plus he wrote it which is cool, also id rather listen to marcs version becoz he is the legend of t-rex woo,and more famous than this doctor robert bloke
I'm familiar with the "many" versions of this song and really love the fact that art is open to interpretation. I don't compare artists for their own art. I compare it for how they make or perform it. So kudos to Marc Bolan, kudos to Dr. Robert and the many artists whom have covered this great song!
where is the song rise above????

Re. MisterBlue24. Thankyou for pointing out that underrated is one word. Here is another surprising one for you - dickhead!
Why bother to make such a petty comment after 11 months? I can only assume you got a dictionary for Christmas. Get a life instead!

Love this. If you do also, listen to "Other Folk". Dr Robert and The Blow Monkeys are so under rated.

@LunaSeaSane so what? this guy released five solo albums since 1990. And by the way the BM reformed :o) Their 2008 album devil's tavern is superb.

Marc Bolan's wife June Feld, said in a 1992 interview that Hippy Gumbo was Marc's favourite song that he wrote and sang.
