It has FAI and Aftermarket exhaust. SCREAMS at high rpm, is a dog on takeoff. Once its rolling, its a fairly fast car for being a larger car with a 4 banger and auto trans. Held its own with V8s all the time, until you hit 75ish.
For the dumbass talkin bout buyin american, not jap. The avenger has a mitsubishi motor, the 2.5. Same interior as the eclipse. So buying an american avenger is buyin jap. But props to it, I have a 97 es that I dont drive anymore. Toughest little car iv owned. Got to 147 down I-81 racing a civic.

@NaptownFizZ lol there was no way that happend stock without the intake/headers they run 17.1 stock v6 atx, or if it's the 2.0l 5spd. the intake/exhuast MAYBE at the most makes you 16.9. they guy slowed down cause he didnt want to race something he knew he could beat. And you beat nothing? my slower of my 3 cars, my 93 sundance duster with a 3.0l atx would easily take you car...even if it was stock
i love my 96 avenger, 400 bucks and all there, bored out engine, cold air, full exaust, 17's... nice lil gas saver durin the week while my 74 f-100 big block stays in my back pocket till weekends haha 600 hp baby undefeated

its amazing on how driving with the overdrive off will actually give you better performance. had it be on, the lancer may have one. I know this cause i have a 2000 dodge avenger es 2.5 v6
