I had a couple of their albums and the songbooks. Used to often sing their songs with a bass/baritone in our church--"Rise Up O Men of God" was always well received. Unfortunately it was all destroyed in a fire in '97 and I haven't been able to find any music or piano scores. Thanks for the clip, Daryl. Rich Booker, Tacoma, Washington.

It was an Honor to know Hale and Wilder and Ovid Young their arranger. Bob was a guest in my Home a few times and had the priviledge to drive Dean from Birmingham to Mobile. My Lincon was leaning to one side the whole way.

Their voices were so perfectly matched. Dean sang " When God speaks" and just blew me away. I have fond memories of hearing them preform many times and sat on the edge of the pew the whold time.

These two Gents. were Great at what they performed. Many thanks to "Scarvervide" for posting this, and I hope more will follow of this album. Their gifts were great, and their working chemistry was near perfect. Tragically, Dean Wilder passed some years ago, but I believe Robert Hale is still with us.

What a breath of fresh air!! These men really set a high standard in the performance of the sacred hymns which are hard to find among performers and even in churches today!! i have a few of their LPs. Wish I COULD FIND THEM ON CDS!!! I WONDER IF THEY'RE STILL ALIVE? DO YOU KNOW?

Yes, they are/were very good in their performances of the hymns. Dean Wilder passed away September 30, 2002.

From what I have learned, their recordings are no longer in print. I bought 2 CD's through Amazon some time ago & when I went back some time later to try and purchase some others, I got the message of the discontinued printing.

Yes it is a shame.  Luckily I purchased the 2 albums just before they discontinued the printing. I wish I had purchased more before that happened.

@scarvervideo There's a Christian radio ministry called Family Radio that plays at least some of their music. This ministry has also stated that the majority of their LPs are out of print. However, they have preserved all of it in digital form!

I know of the the radio station & what you have said about their recordings library. It is through that station that I came to know of Hale & Wilder & then sought out the recordings for purchase & found many on Amazon several years back.

Truly beautiful and inspiring. Once I was privileged to see and hear them in concert. They set the bar very high for Sacred performers. Very few can approach their level of greatness. Please, post more of their work. Thanks.

Thank you for your post & I'm sorry I am just getting around to replying. I have not been able to spend as much time on Youtube as in the past & had some trouble with uploads for awhile too. I very much would like to post some more songs & I pray I will find some time before long.
