  • Well, it does work. :) Been using it this way for over a year now. I'll keep that in mind next time, I do something like this though, to show the final working product.

  • well i sliped and marked down because we didn't get a including checkup to see if it actually works once you have it pluged in.

  • I used a steak knife.Was really easy.

  • Gah, stupid Swype keyboard! I meant to say "the Slim cable".

  • Wow, Microsoft really did an F-you with the Slim, didn't they? Whereas with the older 360 like I have, where the AV cable is simply fat all around, threw slim cable has a specially-designed F-you bump that blocks out the HDMI port.

    Screw you Microsoft!

  • You would want to do this with Rocksmith. The HDMI Audio is slightly laggy, so as you hit a string, the guitar on the game would sound like a slapback echo. Doing this would let you keep your HDMI quality and have the analog audio.

  • Why would you want analog audio?

  • @YMBGaming To use with a older but still very good stereo amplifier. For example.

  • @Ronaldopopkings ah gotcha... just figured if someone had an HD TV that maybe they went in a little more and bought a newer stereo system.

  • @Ronaldopopkings In my case, I'm running my XBOX in my office, video via overhead projector, audio is connected right-channel-to-left-input and left-channel-to-right-input into the second stereo source on my computer speakers. That way, I face forward, and I'm working on my PC. Spin my chair around, and I'm playing XBOX on a 90" projection on the opposite wall, and the audio channels work without having to buy a second pair of speakers or an AV receiver for my office.

  • versager ...

  • Well... You could've also used a kitchen knife to fit between those small gaps of the av cable and take of the plastic parts.. Just saying...

  • Has there been an update to negate this mod? I have both plugged in and it shows that there is no option to select an Analog.

    Audio>

    Digital Blah Blah

    Digital 5.1

    Digital Blah Pro Blah

Sooo? Did Xbox release an update?

  • @MishaalKareemDaoud You shouldn't need to select analog, the analog outs should work regardless of the digital settings. If the digital settings show up (HDMI is plugged in to a unit that accepts audio, or you connect the TOSLink optical cable), it only affects the signal sent out over the digital link.

  • 2:21 after raping it with a sharp power tool "at this point your warrenty is considered void..." lmfaoo

  • @Blakey

    Hahaha lol!!

  • "at this point your warranty is considered void" Lol

  • nice job ,, but the better way for not damaging the HDMI cable ,, some ppl damaged it ((like me)) but i got with a good way : to open up the HDMI plastic cover thx

  • ahaha i had Exactly same Problem and i fixed by removing cable's cover with screwdriver (so i can use it again) as u done with dremel also i find out if u dont turn on ur tv or monitor before Xbox it have to reboot for HDMI Video Output also it sucks if u turn of ur monitor when u having break when u turn on it will reboot no matter what

  • yeah... i saw this. looked at the cable and grabbed the sharpest flathead i had. wedge it between the top metal and the plastic and lightly pry up just enough to pop. do this on the left and right. i personally tightly wrapped it with black rubber tape.

  • @cje200 Hmm...good approach...buuuuut on the downside, no unnecessary use of potentially dangerous power tools. :)

  • @tzaero a screwdriver?...

  • you're one badass hacker!

  • HAHAH ITS FUNNY HOW U WENT THREW ALL DAT JUST TO HAVE THEM BOTH CONNECTED,ALL U HAVE 2 DO IS GET A FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER AND REMOVE THE PLASTIC SHELL OFF OF THE CONNECTION AND UR READY TO HAVE BOTH CONNECTED.

  • @LMLARMRGEDEN43 its voids the warranty of the cables

  • @rockstarmaniac717 I void the warranty of nearly everything I own, usually within 24 hours of unboxing.

  • hey if i do this like have the hdmi and the regular av cables in will the sound still work?

  • @RyCoProduCTi0ns Not sure of what you ment but i can tell that when i have both connected the xbox output on both HDMI and also the AV cable simultanously. I hope i answered your question. Have a good day!

  • Hey there! I had to admit i wasnt sure if it was working. I Searched more on google but i didnt find much. So i decided to try it. I didnt had the tool he had to i tryed with some household (a knife and a screwdriver flat nose) and i got it cutted. Actualy the plastic is very easy to cut with a knife. Anyway i just tryed it and it works VERY well. Even after turning the console off and on. IT JUST WORK!

Thanks alot for that video you've made my day!

  • who waz bangin da xbox

  • kkkkk lol foi-se embora a garantia !!!!

  • Which version of HDMI cable did you use??

  • Umm, just use the old xbox video cable??

  • Is there a way to do this without cutting that part? I doubt my parents will let me cut it

  • dude, just get the whole casing off your av cable, don't need to cut anything

  • if you dont have a dremel use a saw, what i did is just took the outer housing of the cable off completely so it fits

  • what if you don't have that machine can i use a knife?

  • THE REASON WHY THEY DID THAT IS BECUASE ITS A EASY WAY TO GET THE RROD.... YES I KNOW LITTLE KIDS ARE GOING TO SAY " THE SLIM XBOX 360 DOSEN'T GET THE RROD WROUNG!!!! IF YOU THINK IS SAFE TO DO, THEN DO IT..... AND THE REASON WHY IT CAUSES THE RROD IS BECAUSE OF THE GPU AND CPU GET TO HOT AND THEN IT CAUSES THE MOTHER BOARD TO BEND AND BEND AND BEND TILL YOU HEAT SINKS GET LOSE AND THEN BAM YOUR CRYING TO YOUR MOM TO BUY YOU ANOTHER ONE! LATER RTARDS.

  • @MrAeroHacks

Oh my god normal people have warrantys, but i think u are using a xbox which you found in the trash cuz your tu poor to buy one

  • lmao most retarded video i seen yet

  • There's actually no need to get a cutting wheel and destroy the casing around the plug. If you screw around with it enough, you can just pry the plastic open, and keep it in tact.

you can very easily remove, and reinstall the plastic casing around the plug.

  • I just hit the casing on my cable with a hammer and it came off, works just fine lol

  • wow that was really stupid and you just messed up your cord for nothing. you have to pull the big plug out and connect only the hdmi cable you dont have to plug both of them together you dufus!! what are you trying to do mess up peoples cords? All you had to do is tell them to pull that wide plug out and connect the hdmi cable.....why do you think they have a lil block peice on that cord?....hmmmm.

  • @CaptnMarvelousBeatz you sir, are stupid, the main reason for this "hack" is so you can connect via composite audio (red and white) without having to buy the audio dongle which cost $40. To get composite audio, you HAVE to have a; component cable, composite cable, or an audio dongle. composite comes with it, this is just a "hack" so you dont have to waste money. And they have that block piece so they can make money when you need the composite jacks.

  • @NotSoFailuyr +1.

  • yes, you can. if your monitor has integrated audio via hdmi, you're set. if your audio is seperate, you're ok if it's optical...if you need the red & white rca cables, tho, you'll need to mod slightly.

  • Hey i got a hdmi mointer but i dont use the hdmi port cant i just use the hdmi cable from the xbox stright to my mointer ?? Help Please :D

  • have yoou ever tried to open it? im trying with mine and its hard... but im affraid to break something inside

  • Just plug in the HDMI cable by itself. It works. Trust me

  • @CJHissle Dude ur a genious all u need is the hdmi cable dont plug in the connection just the cable...r u god

  • @yugicourtz lmao most retarded video i seen yet

  • Thats so strange, well, when i turn on the xbox 360 not much happens, there is no image on my screen with both HDMI and AV connected.. It sits there but everything else works like the disc tray, but i cant hear anything or see anything. they work individually though.. anything specific that you did that i should try?

  • @kennyyy921 Nothing special...i just went in and double-checked, I've got vid set to 1080i widescreen HDMI, display discovery enabled...audio I just have set to digital stereo, but it shouldn't matter...that only affects optical out or HDMI audio out...analog audio should just work as-is, as long as you're not muted.

  • this doesnt seem to work after an update anymore

  • @kennyyy921 It's still working fine for me. Not sure what they'd change to break this with a software update...or why, for that matter...but then again, I'm not at all sure why they'd block it with the cable in the first place...

  • So did it actually work?? or did it fry the xbox

  • @leewaa It works great. I wouldn't have posted it otherwise. :) As long as you don't cut into the metal, there's nothing to fry.

  • I'm guessing after that, you just go onto the console and select analog under audio?
