I think rivers talent lies in the fact that he can sell records. For me, the best weezer was back in the 90's, but rivers only directed them to an alternative sound because thats what was popular at the time. before that he played metal, and now he's sort of gone more mainstream. they've always been open about the fact that they're careerists, and whether you like new weezer or not i dont think they sold out, they've always riden the bandwagon.

Pinkerton is one of my favorite albums. Perfect balance of love songs, funny ditties, and punk rock. Raditude? Is awesome, man. It feels more like a Pinkerton album then their other stuff. It doesn't sound like it, but it's got a rad attitude (pun intended); light with a side of stand up and touch of seriousness. Props to Cuomos and the gang for the best album that's come from them in almost 14 years.
