thank god weezer doesnt assimilate to a genre... falling into ideas of what a band "should" sound like and writing to a set script is the undoing of musical creativity... i love punk-pop but if that was the only thing out there music would be boring, its a good thing bands like weezer make music that spans genres to keep it interesting
I think rivers talent lies in the fact that he can sell records. For me, the best weezer was back in the 90's, but rivers only directed them to an alternative sound because thats what was popular at the time. before that he played metal, and now he's sort of gone more mainstream. they've always been open about the fact that they're careerists, and whether you like new weezer or not i dont think they sold out, they've always riden the bandwagon.
people think Weezer sold out? pleaaase....Rivers is just having fun with the industry, on his own terms. He's being ironic and kind of a merry prankster. Collaborate with Jermaine Dupri? Why not, that's great.
What's really uncool is judging people and thinking you're too good for anything remotely mainstream.
its gonna be DOPE son!!! lol I had always been a weezer since I was young, and over the years i picked up different type of music, I really like the idea of trying mixes.
LOVE Weezer (and Rivers ofcourse). I agree with everyone who says thier old stuff was better but I still love them. They didn't sell out in my opinion. I do wish they had colaberated with another rapper besides Lil' Wayne though.
To those who say that Weezer has sold out because of the pop/hip hop elements in this song... go listen to the version on Rivers' "Alone 2" recordings.
It's sad when rock artists with actual talent do hip-hop shit like this. First Hayley Williams now Rivers?!?! WTF!!!!! Next thing you know Metallica and Justin Beiber are gonna be working together!!!!!
"He's gonna do the things that he want's to do! He ain't got a thing to prove to you!" Weezer has withstood the test of time. Look a lot of bands that have came and gone. Weezer could have easily been just a one hit onder with just Buddy Holly.
"If it's too loud. Turn it down." =w=
Just think Matt Sharp could be having all this success. I think Pat is best if you ask me. He's like the Ringo Starr of Weezer. SPECIAL GOODNESS!

@CliffRichardsPissSac lmao, dude YOUR band? man so many people listen to weezer and always have. if you dont like it dont listen to em but dont hate on em.
Weezy did do a remix with them, yes. I saw Weezer early this evening, and I was just realizing how many hip hop artists had collaborated on this track. There are about 6 or 7 version you can find on youtube.
I guess Rivers just did a great job capturing an idea that spreads far beyond genre. Haha, who doesnt have to have their Patron?

But people like Jermaine Dupri, Puff Daddy, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, all those fuckers. They just make black people look bad. They're negatively egotistical, they put people down, they're all about style, about sex, about making money, money, money. They're shallow, unintelligent individuals.
@BenjermunBlunted I DO love black people. I love them SO much. But black people still argue all the time about the "N" word. It's THEIR fault that that stupid word is still around. Morgan Freeman, and people like him, are wonderful black people. God bless them. I love every single one of them. But people like Terrell Owens are just fuckin' niggers. But, you are right. I need to use a different word.
I love Weezer, at first i loved wonderin if i want you(...) but after hearing it 3 times it got annoying but everytime i hear the chorus i have to jump in and sing the rest!! lol same with sweater song and beverley hills!!! XD such a captivating band you know?
Ya know, at first I wasn't so sure about this song (or the album, for that matter), but it's really growing on me-- especially after listening to the AOL Session version. Honestly, the only song I dislike is "Love Is the Answer"... not my cup of tea.
Sure, Raditude's different... but it's still Weezer. It still rocks. 8/10
Pinkerton is one of my favorite albums. Perfect balance of love songs, funny ditties, and punk rock. Raditude? Is awesome, man. It feels more like a Pinkerton album then their other stuff. It doesn't sound like it, but it's got a rad attitude (pun intended); light with a side of stand up and touch of seriousness. Props to Cuomos and the gang for the best album that's come from them in almost 14 years.
I like Weezer's old music, Pinkerton is probably my favorite album. But I'm pretty fond of this track too, it's probably my favorite song on Raditude.
You hear wrong ithapens117. World wide it is selling good and once a few more videos come out from the CD it will sell better. Stop watchin' Fox news and deal with reality.

haha, you know what's funny? Since when was Weezer NOT an pop-rock group? Sure they have some punk elements amongst some hard hitting riffs and what not. But they have and always will be a pop-rock group.
They make fun; enjoyable music. Who gives a shit if it's "electro R&B", its one song, and YES, it IS progressive. Listen to all their albums in order of release. Very similar, but always with a few new tunes to clear the air.
People need to kill their labeling & just enjoy good fuckin music
@GuitarSavior4 a lot of bands are still kickin from the nineties..they just arent doing interviews with billboard..but then again they never where so it doesnt really matter
@MartyMoves ,,,but some people dont think this song is good music...dosnt matter who made the song...i dont know i get the felling a lot of people like bands just because its "that band" and not because that band put out a good record...
I must say that for me that song it's the wrost song of the whole album. I like very much I'm your daddy , put me back together , let it all hang out thats are the good songs of the album for me..!
Really... Your favorite song on the album Rivers?!?!?!? COME ON! I love Weezer to death. My favorite band of all time, but I can't listen to that song.
Can't Stop Partying is a hilarious song in that it is completely absurd. Let it all Hang out is just absurd. Not very good. Everybody writes duds sometimes, though. No hard feelings. I welcome the great sound of Can't Stop Partying, even with the silly lyrics, and i've been a weezer fan for 10 years (Thanks for getting me through high school)
I have been a Weezer fan for 13 years, and I don't care for the song. I think it's good for what it is, but it's not really my style. However, Let It All Hang Out needs to be the second single from the album... Badly. It's an awesome song.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Awful, awful song, easily the worst song Weezer has ever released. The album would've been awful if it weren't for a few awesome tunes. Better than Make Believe but not by much
I think that Rivers is an authentic "homie" and can throw down some REAL RAP! This is a good first start, but next he gotta get some "street cred" & hook it up with a gansta like 50 Cent or anyone else that's been locked up in the pen-then he be true blue ghetto!
and they didnt even release it as a single. wtf.

I must say that for me that song it's the wrost song of the whole album. I like very much I'm your daddy , put me back together , let it all hang out thats are the good songs of the album for me..!

It makes me laugh my ass off. I don't know how seriously they took it, it seems like a joke song though.

I have been a Weezer fan for 13 years, and I don't care for the song. I think it's good for what it is, but it's not really my style. However, Let It All Hang Out needs to be the second single from the album... Badly. It's an awesome song.

Awful, awful song, easily the worst song Weezer has ever released. The album would've been awful if it weren't for a few awesome tunes. Better than Make Believe but not by much

I think that Rivers is an authentic "homie" and can throw down some REAL RAP! This is a good first start, but next he gotta get some "street cred" & hook it up with a gansta like 50 Cent or anyone else that's been locked up in the pen-then he be true blue ghetto!
pukaedup 2 years ago
are you kidding me???
why do you want rivers to sing that crap music
i'm pretty sure that 50 cent is a bad musican
he just knows how to make some good rhymes
weezer is real music
they cant sing rap
