The reason I got the iPad is because I'm a graphic designer and the programs I normally use are crazy expensive. Like Adobe Creative Suite for instance. Adobe normally costs almost $1,000. I normally don't get apple's "i" products but this actually surprised the heck out of me! I downloaded a vector program the other day for 10 bucks and it does just as much as Adobe Illustator!!! @CrustyCrackers well if all you do is internet then get an ipad or the new galaxy tab with a 14 hr battery life. but if you plan to use softwarelike MS office or anything else you need a computer. you cant get an ipad unless you have a computer already to get it started

I use my iPad to surf the net, or read newspapers, or watch videos relaxing on the sofa or in bed. Sure you could do that with a notebook, but you'd have to sit upright in one position all the time.
