I got a ScanGauge recently. It's true what people say -- seeing your MPG live dramatically affect your driving.
I have a Honda CRV and my normal driving style gets about 24MPG. After getting this thing, I tweaked my driving on my way to work to get 26MPG. Later that night, I tweaked it even more to get 28MPG. I'm trying to aim for 30MPG.
One thing no one told me -- doing this was actually pretty fun. Being forced to fine tune my driving also forced me to become hyper-aware of the road.
buy another scangauge2 then take a rj45 cable and link them together to see 8 gauges,,,,,you can link as many as you need to see all the gauges on the scangauge at one time,,,,,,,if you call them they will sale a cable to link them 2gether,,,,
Nice gauge! I have scangauge I, have had it for years and have had it on many cars and trucks only issue has been the TPS (Thrott Position) data starts at 19 instead of 0 on most of the fords I've had it on.
Few things I noticed in your vid, looks like the gauge would fit IN PLACE of your A/C vent in the center of the dash?
Also, you can fake better MPG w/ the scan gauge by making a small Vacuum leak anywhere after the butterflies! Waitin for SCANGAUGE HHO MPG results, Bee!
it wasn't cheap, that's for sure. Don't bother with the extended cable, you can use a straight through RJ-45 cable with a connector instead.
I could make one for that matter, I just need some gumption to do it. Sounds like yet another project I don't have time for.
There's nothing like coasting down a hill in neutral and hitting 100+MPG for a few seconds though. Of course watching it hit single digits going up a hill is pretty disappointing too.
how much was this

You should get a blend mount for the scan gauge. Can go above or below the rear view mirror.

Takes info from your ECU so it more monitors what the computer is telling your car to do.

I plan to mount mine on the steering column, just before the hazard switch...

That works and I could do that too, but then I'd have a hard time filming the thing in action and recording results.
At least it comes with four velcro strips so you can have a variety of locations/cars to put it in.
