I like the Dr Who spin offs + there good cos they together with Dr Who they cover all age ranges. I'd watch this (esp if Lee Evanswas in it). i'm surprised they never tried this b4. the show could have SO many spin offs. Torchwood, Sarah Jane, K9, UNIT, u could evan have 1 with Martha and Mickey in it

@orbingmaster I don't make spae in my diary 2 watch Sarah Jane like I do Dr Who or Torchwood but it is the best thing on CBBC. Series 3 was good, The Doctr's guest ep was best + I love the Trickster. Brilliant villain

@DaleksFearMe Actually back years ago there was a proposal at the BBC for a spin-off called 'The Men Of U.N.I.T. (im guessing that was a working title only) but they went ahead and made 'K-9 And Company' instead.

THIS would have been far better than 'TORCHWOOD' was that was must miss TV, this would have been must see TV.

@MrGarath The proposal for a UNIT spin-off back in the 1970s was actually called 'The Men from U.N.I.T.' - a play on 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'. The popularity of Bond/UNCLE was as big an influence on the introduction of UNIT as Quatermass was.

It was only the 2nd time, after a Dalek idea, that a spin-off from Doctor Who had ever been considered. It is a shame that the two modern spin-offs, SJA and Torchwood, are so much on UNIT's territory, leading to poor decisions about how UNIT appear.
