Yeah, the 8GB is a little thicker for starters. Thank goodness. The original N95 is just too thin for me. Sure, ti can stand on its side if you sacrifice a goat to Nokia.
Not a big issue though... If I need to sit it at a difficult angle I just prop it up against something.

the 8gb improved that part, it can stand up (usb side touching table), stand on stage left (jack side) and even upside down

the phone doesnt stand on it's own. But if you use the case which comes with it, you can make it stand on the side, pretty stable.
