Well, the concept of flying cars isn't just equipping wings on our cars and letting them rip. Anyone who does think so, hasn't really give it much thought. If we ever get into flying cars, I imagine the only action that would be required by the driver is to input a location. Everything else would be automated, via computer, GPS, etc.

Before flying, though, I like to think there might be hovering. You know, like magnetic levitation, and not just on trains.

I fear none of this will come true. We're running out of oil and with it the ability to manufacture and engineer much of our infrastructure and technology. The only chance we have is thorium breeder reactors or nuclear fusion but I don't know if we have enough time.
