  • Very simply, Townshend is pure genius, end of story. A gift to us all.

  • Did Roger do anything else than just singing the lyrics that Pete wrote?

  • I've had enough of Childhood, I've had enough of grave's

  • great song but the intro could really use Moonie's drums to kick start it

  • Was that an album ? With demos only ?

If someone can help , please -

    Thank's , rock on !

  • Incridible - Awesome early version - like a flower , becomes a fruit .

Thank you for sharing this !

  • the birth of the best album in rock history

  • Amazin' how much effort Townshend put on his demos.

  • do you have the '73 version? a YouTube search only gives the speeded up film soundtrack and I hate it when they do that

  • weird ending..awsome

this version's not so angry, and it needs Roger's angry delivery

very very interesting though..and i'll be back :)

  • awesome love the scene when jimmy (Phil Daniels) is walking up the beach

  • great song

  • It's Alright mate...Good job! Please check out my Channel of Quad covers....We are the Mods!

    Wink Jones

  • not as good as the who

  • It is The Who.

I think you meant to say it's not as good as the final cut.

Pro'ly not. But after you've heard the final cut 1,000 times, these demos really satisfy a desire you didn't even know you had.

  • It's not the Who - it's the songwriter's first vision.

I agree that it's fascinating to see how the rest of the band and studio time changed some things - others are exactly the same....

  • My jackets gonna be cut slim and checked

maybe a touch of seersucker with an open neck

I ride a GS Scooter with my hair cut neat

I wear my wartime coat in the wind and sleat

  • I don't really know, i've never heard Scoop, in fact, i got all the demos from the bootleg you see in the video.

  • well, no 5:15, since he wrote it on the bus ride over, hadn't he?

  • I think so, there is no data of a bootleg containing a demo of that one also.

I'm still waiting to upload 2 other demos, Love Reign O'er Me, and Brrr.

  • excellent

brrr... i think ... is that one from Scoop?

I never heard it yet, my dad lost half the vynil, so. But i heard the unused piano before

    these are great!

  • @slotwinski1414 he wrote 515 on the train lol

  • @TheWhoinvasion65 yeah same thing. You know what I meant

An interesting thing I noticed, is that while he says he wrote Pinball Wizard in one night (after getting that low-review from his friend-critique who liked pinball) ... there are actually a 'number' of different demo versions of it. I just wonder how many demos he used to do to present before the band?
