  • He sniffing some shit every time he lift....

  • @SthlmFARSTASTRAND its smelling salt

  • @SthlmFARSTASTRAND 100% pure cocaine ;P

  • omg!!! hulk 0:18

  • Benny you rock!! Love your pre lift routine..........getting in the zone!! Need to get out to Iceland and live well instead of the plush individualistic life here in the states. There is something about you that inspires me that is more than just as a lifter.

  • is he suited?

  • LOL, buddy, I wouldn't even give the time of day to the morons that say that crap. Don't even acknowledge their existence.

  • lol

  • I'd like to shake his hand but he'd crush it like a dry pretzel!

  • Andy Bolton lift 1008 lbs with no straps!!!

  • Comment removed

  • This seemed remarkably easy.

  • the funny thing about Ben is that he always pushing the weights with hes feet yust before he lifts it...HAHAXD

Man this man is a beast!

  • @tomda21 i know and he does it with a pointed toe like some sort of ballerina! lowwhat?xd

  • don't let benni off his leash. skyscrapers might end up on the other side of town

  • Lol, I love his little jig, or dance, or ritual (whatever you want to call it) before he deadlifts astronomical amounts of weight

  • @Wellibresh Benedikt Magnusson never took steroids. As a matter of fact if he would, he would have an abnormally low body fat level, which isn't his case lol.

  • @BulldozerJack explain to me how taking steroids gives you an abnormally low body fat level?

  • @BulldozerJack huh? while I do't know for sure if he juices or not, what you just said makes no sense. steroids have little to do with lipid metabolism.

  • @BulldozerJack Lol love this comment.

  • Bahahahah his dance

  • I always thought powerlifting should be done with no equipment at all no belt or suites or anything

  • shut up meathead I bet you didnt eat enough steroids. I am not a powerlifter, I do not look like one, and I don't want to be one. I am a snowboarder I have better things to do than eat steroids.

  • @jdmeghatch

you have better things to do? like what circle jerking with your friends and smoking pot yeah your cool

  • your the one that jerks with your friends I bet you have them aim for your mouth. We know meatheads need steroids, jizz, and protein powder. I bet you can't run 12 miles your fat. Im 140 and 5-10.

  • is this technically a raw lift or is he wearing a suit that i can't see?

  • i love this guy lol

  • i hink its funny as fuck before he lifts it haha

  • Man this guy looks like he could rend a full grown man in two. I would never want to piss him off. Scary Beast!

  • say that to his face. see whos the fag.

  • You're pathetic AND stupid.

  • Those shoes are for deadlifting. The sole of the shoe is really thin, so as to lower your position in relation to the bar. It may not seem like it matters, but it actually helps. Rules state that you need to be wearing shoes in a competition, so they create these feminine looking shoes for optimal deadlifting.

  • thanks mr genius.

  • This.

  • Comment removed

  • they dont affect brain

  • he could fight 5 people with hammers after his ammonia shot and win with ease and he doesnt even need to know how to fight....

  • benni = no straps

    bolton = straps

    benni > bolton

  • Are you saying Bolton uses lifting straps? As in for grip? Sorry straps arent allowed in competition. Neither of these lifters use straps.

  • I actually like this guy, I see an athlete and an entertainer, which I don't see with fatass Bolton who believes he's tarzan's mother

  • i wonder how high his vert leap is.

  • You seriously think our "natural" components have nothing to do with chemistry and especially adrenalin? LOL... everything we use to 'enhance' our performance was developed by the nature and given to us in the form of hormons. We're just giving ourselves some extra.

  • very entertaining!

  • Wish Benedikt went back to the WPO and challenged Andy Bolton's Deadlift record.

A showdown between Bolton and Magnusson would be fantastic.

  • ...its called adrenaline, obviously u dont lift weights if u dont know its power.

if u DO lift weights and still dont get it, ure missing a lot.

  • To each their own, I suppose. What may work for him, may not work for you. Granted, I do think there is some showmanship here, but in the end he did lift 440kg.

  • exactly.. the guy is one of the best deadlifters out there, his "theatrics" are clearly working for him.

  • it looks like he stalls it just for a split second before the lift.. but then again idk if rolling the bar is illegal i know it would help the momentum going up for sure

  • Is rolling the bar like that legal? Cos i like to do that.. i find it helps.

  • I read that when you use a DL suit, rolling lets you take in a bigger breath of air, and its "springier", dont quote me on it though

  • That's not true Norb

  • I read it online by someone that used a suit, like i said, dont take it as evidence, i guess he felt he could get more air in, his suit was tight i guess,

    probably mental more then physical

  • More of a placebo effect in the deadlift, no suit gives very much advantage when pulling off the floor. Belts help, but only slightly.

  • your right

The guy said he pulled like 50 more, after getting used to it,

I mean Bolton has like 1008 with suit, and 945 raw, so its not exaggerated like a bench shirt, which is ridiculous

  • Actually, the right suit on the right lifter can give 70-80 pounds. And rolling the bar with the suit does help you take a bigger breath of air in when the bar is as extended as it can be. As for "springier," I can see what they mean but you could technically get the same effect from a deep bend just before the pull.

  • holy shit, its ascendent

    hahah cool

    get back to S&P, lol

  • i didnt bother reading any of the comments so i dont know if anyone brought this up, but i think the most amazing part about this deadlift is the fact he is not using the gloves with straps and is using both hands in the same direction (instead of the classic one hand facing towards you and one away) that requires an amazing amount of forearm strength. amazing what some of these athletes can do :)

  • He is actually using a mixed grip.

  • ahh right you are, very hard to tell because its not the best quality hehe. im still tired of seeing everyone use those gloves with the wrap around grips on, call me old school, but i prefer to use good old fashioned forearm strength :)

  • its amazing how he just walks up to it and rips it. when I max out, I setup for like 30 seconds making sure everything is lined up and I have a good deep breath and all that good stuff. this guy is just unreal!

  • I was thinking the same thing, I;m going to try Bens method next week, Just go up to it and do it.

  • I've heard it said that the longer you're setting up, the better the chances of missing the lift. I try to lift as he does. Grab bar and stand up. Sometimes it works and sometimes gravity wins. Magnusson will one day pull 1100lbs.

  • He's so adorable :D

  • I hope Benedikt Magnusson and Andy Bolton will go neck and neck in WPO Deadlift.

Magnusson will probably win since Bolton is struggling a little bit on his Deadlift over the last two years.

  • Yeah, Benedikt - the funniest guy. but he`s strong like two oxen combined though

  • It's nice to see those guys in Wpo lifting with Leoko, instead of gay Ivanko.

  • Benedikt is a beast:D

no wait he is THE beast

  • crazy!

  • man this guy rocks... he owned that fucking weight, i mean OWNED! He could easily smack andy's record by 50-100 lbs if he wanted to... or maybe he did already, i havent been updated with the new pl records

  • babyface

  • hes broke the record, he can deadlift 1102.3 lb now

  • Thats the tire deadlift not with a barbell so they are two different records. Because the bar is higher with the tires you can lift more.

  • gotta love that nutter!

  • he is great...

great lift and great show too

  • at least, unlike you, he only looks that way

  • lol

  • He's going for the world record anytime soon :) will be a blast watching how he grows in the future. Go iceland? ;)

  • only*

  • fyi the deadlit is one of the onky excersises u cant cheat in...unless u have some kind of mechanism connected to u to help pull the weight up

  • i love watching this guy deadlift, his pre deadlift routine thing its realy funny, but this guy is a deadlift machine!

  • ronnie cannot deadlift more than magnusson...u cant compare them like that one is a bodybuilder and one is a powerlifter...two totally different styles of lifting

  • bit of a nutter isn't he?

  • u are a monster in the deadlift..stay strong brother...bignate

  • what the hell?

  • ronnie did 800lb times 2. he might as well as lifted 1000lbs in my book. but you guys going on like you can lift even 300lbs make me sick. the guy is not even a powerlifter so whats your argument really about?

  • ronnie lifts 800 lbs 4 reps now

  • He's suited AND uses straps... go figure ;)

  • ronnie's 800lb deadift wasnt suited

  • There is a big difference between 800 and 970. Ronnie was using straps too...

  • thats true. and yes, deadlift suits dont do much as far as help

  • theres no help on the deadlift in a suit

  • You guys are tards, I add 65 lbs. to my belt max in a DL suit.

  • Doesnt Ronnie use roids? Isnt this guy natural?

  • yes and no

  • Dumbest question ever. Are you retarded?

  • 800lbs on 4 reps won't matter, do you realize just how big of a gap 170lbs is at that level?

  • ronnie wears a liftersiud while he lifts 800lbs.

and ronnie would never be able to lift more then magnusson. if ronnie lifted more he would be powerlifter like before his bodybuilding career.

and there is also the relative-weight. ronnie weights much more then magnusson so ronnie needs to lift much more to become the winner.

  • like everyone else Ronnie Coleman is stupid... hes got muscles but not great power like this guy

  • Mmm.. lets see you lift 800.

  • does anyone know what brand of plates those are?

  • For those comparing this to the Ronnie Coleman's 800 lbs and arguing 2x800 lbs is 1600 lbs is just ignorance.

In weightlifting 2 reps equal about 95% so you could argue Ronnie did 800/0,95 = 842 lbs.

Ronnie maks a nice show, but when it comes to power, Benidikt is the winner.

  • If Ronnie Coleman was wearing a Single Ply Powerlifting Suit, such as the Inzer Max DL, he could possibly Deadlift 900 lbs. and break alot of IPF Deadlift records easily.

  • NO cuz ronnie coleman is a SUPERroid not even reg roid cycles just eats them for breakfasta nd cant even lift any more then 800lbs ish, he is no strong man, he could never compete with WSM and powrlifters ever.

  • All of you guys are wrong in comparing a powerlifter to a bodybuilder. They are 2 completely different things.

  • haha

  • Ronnie is a bodybuilder, he doesn't train strickly for power like this guy. Lifting 800 pounds in near competition form is every bit as impressive as this in my eyes. This guy is the fucking man though, love his intensity.

  • Two complete different types of lifting. Google it.

  • i love Magnus' powerful bellow before the lift. motivates me when i'm thinking of punking out of heavy squat or deadlift day. NEVAHH!!!

  • that's awesome!

  • what did her sniff?

  • probably ammonia

  • smelling salts prob

  • COOL!!!!!

  • IMMA CHARGIN MA LAZER

  • because work is measured in lbs...idiot

  • No you can't.

  • That is one huge hell of a deadlift!!! Holy hell!

  • wow...

  • Joe Public can do 50lbs Deadlift with 50 reps. equals a single rep of 2500? NO.

  • yeah, that dude legendaryzabuze is a total idiot. He's obviously jealous, and can't just celebrate the achievement of this one guy without stealing his thunder by mentioning some other guy. Wow!

  • are you fucking retarded...? why dont you go to the video game section you moron...

  • lol

what do you find 'fucking retarded' about me?

lol @ your favorites... no thx i don't want to join your video section.

    like tina said "U SUCK".

  • No, that would be 2,000 lbs of work.

  • He used a hooked grip.. are u blind?

  • Total Beast, Will break the record soon

  • No, Andy Bolton is stronger.

  • but 20 years older. He won't get any stronger, but Benni will.

  • 439kg

  • I just realised he didnt even use a hook grip o.0

  • no he didn't

  • jesus christ, i saw ronnie coleman taking 800lbs and he sayd that nobody else tryed this

  • He was referring to other bodybuilders - he did it only five and a half weeks out from the Mr. Olympia competition (meaning he was lowering his food-intake to slim-down and thus slightly weaker than off-season) and basically taunted the other SHW bodybuilder competitors to try it. Benedikt Magnusson is a powerlifter and strongman competitor - very different to a bodybuilder.
