Dwayne is actually Independent, but when voting, and on many issues, he usually leans to the right. In the recent 2008 election, even though he is good friends with Obama, he said that he had a lot of respect for Sen. McCain, and the issues that he was most concerned about, McCain seemed to have the better solutions.

well i just think he's great...and normally, most wrestler cross overs fail at any attempt to being an actor 1 film into the crossover but he's a great guy...good talent.. he reads well on screen and is funny...outside of that he seems like just a fun guy that anyone could get along talking to, sad that he's a republican, it's forgivable..nothing is perfect :)

When he's not in character he's a real soft spoken, humble man so it's not a surprise he's a republican. Besides a lot of wrestlers are republicans. A lot of wrestlers have a hard work ethic and strong family values in their private life.

It's only in Hollywood where you see people getting money based on public opinion instead of saving lives or creating something useful for the world that you also see the rich talking about how the rich don't deserve their money.

He is definitely right about celebrities trying to be all of a sudden political. I hated the fact that the only thing oprah can say after obama's acceptance speech was that america did the right thing. I mean I voted for Obama but oprah doesn't have a clue what she was talking about. Now celebrities want to go to d.c. for the inaguration. Now all of a sudden they want to attend inaguration because they felt that they "belong" to the intellectual crowd.

if you were a celebity, i think he would have been referring to a comment just like that. if you think partisanship is THAT important, than you're taking it too seriously. the rock is many things before he's a republican. as a republican myself, i'm glad to hear he has a very level head about party affiliation, but not surprised that his clear perspective is lost on a refusing audience. way to alienate a fellow American.

I think he's a Republican but he doesn't shove his belief down people's throats. To me it doesn't matter. He can believe whatever he wants, it's his right. I am personally a Ron Paul Republican and despise McCain, Bush, and Obama. But he seems smart enough to not think that just because he's an actor he knows everything. That's what I really liked about Heath Ledger. He kept things for himself and didn't shove his beliefs down everyone's throat.
