hey, Im located in Toronto, and Im looking to get my first dog, Ive done a lot of research and it says a Coton is a good fit for a novice dog owner. What are your thoughts on that?>
Thanks Pete. We are indeed looking at Malagasy Cotons and we're really interested in the Tall variant. I was wondering what that does to their weight, but I see that it's not a big difference.
Hi Pamela. Thanks for the kind words about Rollie. Cotons are great pets. Rollie is around 14.5 pounds. We obtained him from a Coton breeder here in Ontario, Canada. His parents and siblings are all regular Cotons, not the tall variant. I would recommend you look at some of the U.S. breeders. Check out Dr. Jay Russell's (Malagasy) Coton de Tulear Club of America web site for a list of accredited breeders. He's the man who originally introduced the breed to North America in 1974.

Hi Pete,
He's beautiful. How heavy is he? Did you get him from a breeder? If so, which one?
